Can't Believe I Got Sucked In and a Legit Question

Dang - I can't believe I got sucked into a pointless discussion about the Carnival Triumph situation. I try so hard to be measured in my responses to threads here and try to stay out of the fray, but today, I just didn't and it turned into a pom pom waterfall battle. Ugh!

Anyway for my actual question - we are on the Sun in May from Vancouver to Whittier. Will the casino be open at all while we are in Alaska waters? Will the ship go farther out to sea in the evenings in order to open the casino?

TIA

Don't feel bad. There are a lot of people saying a lot of things that are being blown out of proportion on both sides of that one. I've read about it all day and night and I guess my inability to turn away from a train wreck (the forums, not the actual incident on Triumph) keeps me reading. I've wasted a whole day of my life!

I don't know what they do about the casinos on the Alaska sailings, however. :o

You've taken the first step in recognizing there is a problem!;)

Funny you should post that about the Triumph - I have avoided ALL of those discussions on here - just can't take the drama.

I can only speculate about the casino - the cruise lines generally do what they have to to open them. Even if that means sailing in circles! :)

Bad me....I posted the first link on here thinking it would be a compassionate thread...how silly to think that!!

Anyway...both times to Alaska the Casino was open the first night....I'm thinking around 7pm. I did a r/t Seattle on the Pearl and a r/t Vancouver on the Sun. I know I hit pretty good on the last night on both ships! Hopefully that luck can be forwarded to you!!!;)

Some people who have never even sailed on Carnival are bloviating about a "culture of complacency" at Carnival. Of course it's true because they read it on the Internet.

It's not your fault. You were forced to activate your keyboard by others.

Good heavens, give it a rest. I gave you my opinion in the other thread. If that isn't good enough, then I apologize. You really don't need to nip at my heels like an angry chihuahua.

Sometimes people disagree. It is human nature.

If that was true, why did you bring it up again in another thread? That is the very definition of bloviation.

I agree completely.

Might I suggest doing what I am about to do as soon as I hit the "submit" button on this post, which is to update my "Ignore" list to include a particularly prolific poster who prefers to engage in pontification and bloviation. ;)

Have a delightful, and stress-free day. :D

Oh, man...There is a tremendous amount of useful information, but you have to sort through those that are in the know and those that are just bloviating to get attention.
