Passport in Allure of the Sea?

If you are US born citizens, and it's a "closed loop" cruise that departs and ends in the same US port, you can cruise with just a birth certificate and govt issued photo ID (like a driver's license). The baby just needs a birth certificate.

But note that Puerto Rican birth certificates issued prior to 7/1/2010 are invalid and you will need to apply for a new one.

As others have said, it is not necessary for a closed loop cruise for US citizens. That being said, we got one for DD (DH & I already had them) when we sailed Allure last year. It was worth the peace of mind that to know that there would not be any issues flying back to the US (or to meet the ship if we somehow missed the ship anywhere) if we had to.
