Just back from Majesty of the Seas!

This trip was a reunion trip. Sixteen of us had gone on the Majesty of the Seas for Halloween 2003 and had such a good time that we decided to go again. The ship looked beautiful all dressed up for Christmas. Our waitress, Florentina(sp) and our assistant waitress Alena were wonderful. They remembered our names from the first night and couldn't do enough for us. Food was very good in the dining room but not so good on the buffet. I also think the entertainment has slipped a little. The royal caribbean singers were not as good as before. The rest of the entainment was good. We were disappointed that they did not have Quest. I think it might have been because of the change in CD.

Anyone have any questions just ask or email me.

Hi,

Who were the entertainers? I was on Majesty in July and will return in January. I'm hoping to see something different. We saw Phil Tag, Alturo ? (singer-impressionist) & the gaucho with the ropes.

I just went on the Majesty for the Dec. 3rd sailing. The CD was Warren(sorry, can't recall his last name). He is Canadian. I think he is pretty good. We had him on the Splendour in April and he was just a good then. I think we didn't have a Quest game because it was 3 day cruise and there wasn't enough time. Just my guess. The entertainment was Johnny Thunder from the Drifters and John Wing, a comedian. We didn't see Johnny Thunder but everyone said he was good and the comedian was alright, not great. I thought the singers and dancers did a great job, especially the farewell show.

The entertainers (aside from the singers & dancers) change with every sailing. Although, I think every one has some sort of bolo/comedian Argentinian - I think it's a rule.

BTW, I'm a Michigan man (I suppose you could tell), but my daughter's in grad school at UT, so I have to sing Rocky Top too. :)

We are going in less than 2 weeks and can't wait! We'll let you all know how it went when we return.

The only exursion we pre-booked is the 2-hour Nassau & Paradise Island tour (12:30 p.m.) and I've only read one review on this trip, and it wasn't favorable.

If the entertainment is subpar, there's always the lounges and casino. By the way, anyone know if the pools are open at night (whirlpools)?

Cheers,

S&S

We saw Johnny Thunder and left after about 5 minutes. I guess he just wasn't our cup of tea (that's being nice). Probably catered more to the older crowd. We actually thought the comedian was pretty funny. There was a little toilet humor which I usually don't like, but it wasn't very graphic. We didn't see any of the other shows.

BethCarp- When we were in Coco Cay, were you irritated also by the very loud guests that took over the band for about an hour that afternoon? I think I went to sleep that night with "COCO COCO COCO CAY" that night when I went to bed.

No, in fact I don't remember hearing a band. We were sort of away from all the action, over by the snorkeling beach. It was really pretty quiet.

We saw Johnny Thunder and thought he did a good job. We also enjoyed the comedian. I think I would have enjoyed the production numbers better if I didn't have the comparison from the October cruise. Also I though Rico was a better CD. Anyone know if he moved to another ship? We also enjoyed the Schooner Bar's piano player, we spent a lot of time there. We also enjoyed people watching-some people were wearing the wildest clothes.

We were happy to be able to stop at Coco Cay as our October trip was rainy and the seas rough on that day.

Well no matter what the entertainment or band or port - I will be sailing in two weeks and I WILL HAVE A BLAST.

Did the SOS a few years back and loved it - Did the Mariner last spring and loved it - Just cannot wait to be on board with my sweetheart!biggrin.gif
