Inflatable Cushions??

Recommended Posts

I have seen on one or two posts the suggestion that we bring an inflatable cushion, those inexpensive ones used for the pool. I think the suggestion is that on the Motu they can be helpful.

I am confused as to their purpose. I presume it is not for floating in the water. Is it for an air cushion for relaxing on the beach?? Are their beach chairs available on the beach?? Don't mind bringing them but don't want to look stupid with a bright orange inflatable.

It's for floating. Inflatable mattress, not cushion.

Yes, there are chairs, the canvas sling variety, pretty comfortable.

I've never taken anything like that with me. Frankly, floating on top of the water would just get me sunburned. I guess you could lie on the thing as well. You won't look stupid if you bring one, a few always do. A fellow-cruise on one trip brought water noodles, packed around the outside of her suitcase.

Most folks take them just one way, leaving them for staff on departure.

I purchased a Pool Mate Saddle ($29.95) from Overtons.Ya sit in it in the water with drinks in your hands instead of paddling. No inflation required, fits compact in your suitcase and is lightweight!

And no,you won't leave this one behind!:D
