VOS 6/3- 6/12 Part One

Recommended Posts

Embarkation was fairly painless, we drove from Boston Area and parked at the pier. Friday 6/3 was rainy so during the sail away we all got wet. We had 2 rooms 6318 - Hump Balcony and 6311 a promenade which turned out to be a great location.

Dining: We had main dining, the service was great, and the table mates were great. The Selections could have been better.

Entertainment: We attended all the shows. the production shows were good. We had seen the shows the last time we were on the VOS. We went to the Ice show which was great considering the ship was shaking. The cruise director is Becky Thompson and I she has tons of energy.

Casino: I had one big win of $300 which was great.

Norovirus: I did not see anyone complain of it. My daughter fractured her toe, so I was down in the clinic for a long time. I am a RN was impressed the medical facilities.

I will continure with part 2.

We went on several excursions, in Labadee the kids went parasailing and a wave runner. They didn't have the bananna boats up and running. The weather was great.

Jamacia- we took the Dolphin swim and Dunn's Fall. The climb was a bit harders than I would have liked. The Dolphin swim was great. The natives were a bit pushy.

Grand Cayman- we went to sting ray city. the waves were a bit rough and my kids (21 and 19) did not enjoy it, my husband and I did like it. It started to rain and Topical Storm started to form.

The weather was a bit rough, they blocked all outside access due to the wind. It reminded me of a Nor'easter.

We were not able to stop at Freeport, so we had a total of 6 sea days which we found relaxing.

Internet-my husband and I both had papers that we had to email. I had my laptop and initially we got the cybercabin but I had trouble connecting. When my husbanfd returned the kit the VOS has several hot spots. One was the promenade and I was able to connect wirelessly from my kids PR room. It was slow but severed it's purpose.

We all had a wonderful time.. wish I was still on the cruise.

Did you feel this boat rock? I assume that it would not be as noticable as a smaller ship! We were on the Galaxy last year, only time we felt it rock was late at night, and it kind of rocked us to sleep. Is the VOS stable or do you feel movement? Thanks!

Hey, thanks for the review! I'm leaving friday on the same itinerary.

Just a couple of questions:

1) Did you find any strange substance on your car when you got back, like a lot of people on the previous cruise had?

2) Any theme nights?

3) Did you notice how many teens were on board? I don't mean strictly teens, but like 18-21.

Thanks so much :)

Glad to see the Storm was did not ruin the trip. I would love an extra day at sea too. We have hit most of these Islands before. The ship is our real destination.

I am in a Hump cabin too. I take it from your post that you could not get Wireless signal in you Hump cabin....

Any tips from your cruise?

No wireless signal in the hump room, but strong if you sat out in the business center which is about 10 steps away. The issue was my battery died and I had to plug in my computer and there was no plug in the business center.

All ships have movement. The rougher the ocean, the more movement.
