So, we didnt see many wildlife becuase it was rainy season and they migrate away we were told. However, on this tour you are taken to some private-like cenotes to swim. They are fresh water/salt water mix and very soothing.

You get on a little boat, go through a short man-grove area and arrive at the pools. There were about 5 pools total. We had the place to ourselves. It is in a jungley-type area and totally shaded.

The guide was extremely nice and funny, as well. They made us a mexican lunch of Black Beans, white rice, chicken fajiata meat, tortilla's, and chips.

They had all you could drink soda's and water free and beer for sale.

We stayed here 3 hours and had a great time. The kids said this was their favorite excursion.

We were on a RCCL ship, so not sure about other lines offering this.

How long was the drive to get there and how much was the tour? Thanks

It only took about 15 minutes to drive to the boat area and mabye 5 or 7 to the swimming area.

It was $59 per person both kids and adults.

Do you know if there is any wildlife to see in January? That's when we'll be in Progreso and I'm trying to decide what to do. This excursion sounds interesting -- do you have any pictures?

thanks!

the only wildlife to see if they are around would be:

flamingo's and birds, and one racoon at the cenotes, and fish in the ponds.

I have photo's but dont know how to post, seh123@gmail.com email me

and I will send you some .

good luck!

I guess I should have been more specific: by wildlife I was referring to the flamingos and other birds. I thought it was posted that certain times of the year they migrate to other locations.

I will send you an email about the pictures -- thanks!
