cantwait2cruise Posted September 4, 2004 #1 Share Posted September 4, 2004 Looks like we're stuck at sea til Monday...were supposed to return Sat. We were told to conserve water. I'm ready to be home, but I guess two extra days won't be too bad...a 7 day cruise for the price of 5! Hoping all the Floridians brave the storm safely!!! tncuz Posted September 4, 2004 #2 Share Posted September 4, 2004 I know so many people are adversely effected by all this, but I would say you've been given a free upgrade. Just try to relax and enjoy your extra days at sea.
Bunkie103 Posted September 4, 2004 #3 Share Posted September 4, 2004 Wow....that's a toughie! I have family members stuck in a hurricane shelter in Florida since yesterday morning, bet they would change places with you anyday. Relax and enjoy. hstrybuf Posted September 4, 2004 #4 Share Posted September 4, 2004 Enjoy those extra sea days! You do NOT want to be in Florida for the next couple of days.
cantwait2cruise Posted September 4, 2004 Author #5 Share Posted September 4, 2004 Well that's what we're doing...trying to relax and enjoy the extra days. Just a little tough when you can't really call home or anything (well you can as you all know for a big expense). My dad was able to contact USAir for us and change our flights with no problem to Monday. I'm not sure where we are...the seas are a little rough. Will keep you posted. Hope everyone in Florida is safe. We've had the weather channel so we've been watching.
Kay D Posted September 4, 2004 #6 Share Posted September 4, 2004 Wondered if y'all "stuck" on Sensation have enough food to eat?? With the way the storm is stationary & not moving on through the Bahamas & not going on to FL, you may not be able to "get off" Monday!!! Daughter, her hubby & friends were supposed to be getting on S today, but late Fri night they decided to cancel so they would not have to stress themselves (& all rest of us) trying to get to Tampa by Mon. noon. hstrybuf Posted September 5, 2004 #7 Share Posted September 5, 2004 From other reports coming in, I'm guessing you're going around in circles about 60 miles north of Cuba with a lot of other cruiseships. :)
mohavemommy Posted September 5, 2004 #8 Share Posted September 5, 2004 We were told to conserve water. I thought the ships purified their own water from sea water.... hhhmmmmm  I would only be worried about food (but not that worried)
steveaaaa Posted September 5, 2004 #9 Share Posted September 5, 2004 I thought the ships purified their own water from sea water.... hhhmmmmm :rolleyes:I would only be worried about food (but not that worried) Yes to a point. At each port they take on many gallons to suppliment what they cannot purify. If basic water conservation is used they are self supporting. Knights on the Beach Posted September 6, 2004 #10 Share Posted September 6, 2004 Daughter, her hubby & friends were supposed to be getting on S today, but late Fri night they decided to cancel so they would not have to stress themselves (& all rest of us) trying to get to Tampa by Mon. noon. A good call on their part, as it turns out that cruise was cancelled.
