For my two transpacific b2b’s planned for ‘24 and ‘25 between Seattle and Asia I made sure I selected travel insurance coverage that includes foreign & domestic terrorism and also includes coverage for non-medical evacuation. This helps me feel better prepared - especially the non-medical evacuation coverage - for any unexpected events. Making sure you are fully prepared (however that looks for you such as travel insurance or being self-insured or whatever) might help you feel better about traveling.

A “buy one get one for 50% off” sale is basically a 25% off sale - meaning each person’s discount is 25% off the regular price. A much better deal is when they have a 30% off the regular price for each person. Keep track also of the “regular price” because sometimes RCI increases that.

Just received an email that the April 29, 2025 Ovation is cancelled and Quantum is taking its place. . . Sigh

I’m on the October 4th Ovation sailing - we received an email today saying that due to the fires the only port option available for this cruise is Honolulu. We are now going to Honolulu on day 7 between 9am and 7pm (the one and only stop) then on day 9 we cruise through the Napali Coast and end in Oahu the next day. Im a bit disappointed in this change but I got a good price on my cabin so not sure what I’m going to do.

Perhaps not a troll, but when you use click-baity titles such as “dire crew conditions” (and then double down on it) but you mean they only don’t have wifi as much as you think they should have . . . . People are going to wonder.

If employees want/need to communicate with those back home - they have the option of sending letters via snail mail too. Don’t need internet for that.

The best thing would be to contact your family law attorney to make sure you have the proper documentation so there are no surprises during your vacation.

So because of the fires in Maui it’s ok (according to you) for Royal Caribbean to screw over loyal customers?

I’ve used Black Tie Limo out of Pleasanton a few years ago for personal and business trips and have been very happy with them. They do airport pick-ups and drop offs. Unfortunately I can’t advise on what their current rates are though. Good luck and have a great trip!
