  1. Just off the Edge, the cabanas face the walkway they have large planters with shrubs placed at the end of them to provide privacy from those walking past. They do provide privacy but restrict the view to the water. Across the walkway from the cabanas is an open area with large chairs and a good view to the ocean. Most days the cabanas were vacant but the large chairs were in use, seems they are available to anyone and further block the view. After seeing the cabanas again with the planters and chairs, I would say the cabanas are not a good option to view Alaska.
  2. Even when the bar menus appear they only list a few of the drinks available from the bars, generally they list just the specialty drinks from that bar. They don’t list things like gin & tonic, Bloody Mary, margarita, pina colada, etc yet you can most of these and more at every bar. The key to the Classic vs Premium package is the brand of alcohol use to make the drink. if the drink can be made with the brands of liquor on the Classic package it is covered by that package. Here is a recent list of liquors on the packages
  3. Every cruise we have booked and the ones we just completed have had some decent discounts on the Premium package (25-30%) and some flash sales it has been heavily (35-45%) discounted. Wines are limited if you stick to the printed wine list. If you have a knowledgeable sommelier they can recommend some wines that aren’t on the list. Just got off 27 nights and only had wine with a upcharge 2 nights.
  4. $17 unless you want one made with a vodka or gin above the premium package. On the premium package you have: Vodkas- grey goose, Ketel 1, Belvedere, Critic, Chopin & Tito’s. Gins - Tangueray 10, Hendricks, Bombay Sapphire, Gunpowder or Plymouth.
  5. Did you log into his account? The same happen on a previous cruise. When I logged into DHs account his was there.
  6. We are just off B2B 200+ so not included in CC lunch . Also the number of B2B changing cabins was too much for attendants to handle so we had to totally pack up everything, including hanging items.
  7. Yes, served sit down lunch is in the MDR (only 1 of the 4 are open for lunch on the Edge. Luminae is also open for lunch on sea days for suite guests. You are correct my post should have specified that no dining room is open for lunch on port days,
  8. I look at it this way if I book Concierge I get lunch in the MDR on day 1. Everyday my dinning for breakfast, lunch and dinner is the MDR. If I book Aqua I don’t get lunch in the MDR on day 1 but I do have Blu as my assigned dining room for breakfast & dinner everyday and the MDR for lunch if I chose to go. We prefer Blu to the MDR for service, atmosphere and quality.
  9. Hmmm. Seems we have moved from the loss of the military discount when booking suites using the Zenith cruise only rate to the solo supplement😂
  10. Agree, the fun of a new ship is exploring, being surprised and going Oh WOW‼️ Enjoy your cruise.
  11. Ruth, I was so happy to be able to upgrade after final payment with the Cruise Only Z rate ($1600 less than regular). This was just a few days before we left that I didn’t look at the invoice. I just looked and the Military discount was no longer there. I booked with a TA and the reservation number did not change.
  12. We just got off the Edge. We chose not to order any wine in the Retreat Lounge as they seemed to be sticking to those on the Lounge menu. We drank Haslinger’s or cocktails. In Luminae we just let the Sommelier pick ones that paired with what we were ordering. The majority were good, only rejected 2 or 3 of those offered in 17 nights. The only time we had a upcharge was the night we ordered Red Condundrum and we were charged $9 total. Interestingly we ordered Red Condundrum 2x in specialty restaurants and did not get charged the extra $. I don’t bother with the wine list any longer and don’t worry about what the retail price of a bottle is either. If I like it I drink, if it extra then I’ll pay. As it relates to upcharges, we were an upscale restaurant last night. Lobster 5oz, with mashed potatoes & veggie $49. Extra lobster $44.
  13. I also noticed that the military discount was not applied when I did mock bookings with the Zenith cruise only pricing.
  14. You are correct that you lose the Concierge lunch on embarkation day but you can have lunch in Luminae on embarkation day instead.
