I ate in Crown Grill last night on Enchanted. Absolutely superb in every way. My first cruise as a solo traveller and the service was wonderful and didn’t make me feel weird on my own. I was encouraged to try two different starters, the black prawns and papaya plus the scallops. Both were delish. I chose the veal chop for my main and it was superb. The side dishes were excellent too. I concluded with the salted caramel creme brulee cheese cake - again good. I have the premium package so selected some good wine as well. All round lovely evening. I am going again later on the cruise and hope I can get the same servers as I will leave them an extra tip which I didn’t think about last night as I was so tired.

I am finding the app very frustrating and I am very IT savvy. I have followed the instructions and have the app on both my iPhone and my iPad. I went to ‘check in’ and it says I am Blue Line for my cruise this coming Thursday. I appear to have done all the things I am supposed to do as well. So quite what I am missing out on doing is weird. I tried to enter additional information about my travel arrangements to Barcelona and having entered my departure date/time, when I try to enter the arrival time (just 2 hours later) it says I need to enter a date before my departure…. 🤦‍♀️ When I spoke to Princess a short while ago, they said I haven’t paid for my cruise and yet my cruise travel agents have said I have - although they’re trying to resolve the issue and believe it’s because it’s a last minute booking. I can’t book Crown Grill either except at a time when my children used to eat (5pm!) although the first person I spoke to at Princess on the phone said he’d booked me Sabatinis for 7.40pm on the first night, but it isn’t showing anywhere….. I’ve been on the phone now for about 2 hours 😩 Feeling I’ll need another holiday to get over the organisation of this one.

I saw a post that suggested there were two US power sockets and one English (220v) on Enchanted. I don’t recall having issues with my hairdryer and styler brush when Ii was on Royal Princess but it was 5 years ago. Please can anyone confjrm if there is a standard English 3 pin socket on this ship? Thanks!

I finally managed to book a solo cruise yesterday after initially being rejected (it seems some cruise lines have a limit on the number of solo travellers). My agent was shocked when she couldn’t book me and I took to Twitter…. Strangely a few hours later she could book my trip which starts in less than a week. A very last minute decision to travel and whilst it is my first totally solo cruise since my husband died in 2019, I have cruised since with my son. He is very disabled so at times it is like being on your own but I did love the way people at adjacent tables would start to chat. I hadn’t really thought through the whole dining alone bit and I’ll just take things as they come. I am more anxious about getting from the airport to the terminal as I booked too late to get transfers arranged. The last cruise I took with my late husband was on this line, and it was the best we ever had so I am hoping that the brand still delivers although realise that all lines have changed post pandemic. Just hope I don’t catch anything to spoil the trip!

Wow well remembered and thank you! I fear that trip is now a bit of a blur because of all that’s happened since. It was the New Year cruise just before the Pandemic. My first with Simon without my husband who had died in the August. Since then, we’ve done a Celebrity Silhouette trip round the UK in 2021 (although were not allowed off the ship due to covid rules at the time) and this is our first long one with P&O. Just hoping it’s all ok but having caught covid in Cyprus (possibly the flight?) where we had to leave our hotel and I managed to get us into a villa, I just wanted it all nice and easy this time! We have an accessible balcony although wish I had a deluxe one but they weren’t available. Hope you’re both keeping well and thank you for getting in touch! ☺️

Thanks for a great review. I am taking my disabled (adult) son Simon on Arvia in July (Med cruise) before the school holidays and based on some reviews and comments on the Facebook page have been really rather anxious. We’ve cruised many times esp when my husband was alive - mostly on Royal Caribbean when travelling with Simon as there is lots of pzazz. I had booked Arvia as it means no flying and we can just board and disembark in Southampton. There isn’t as much in the way of pzazz on Arvia as I’d hoped (no parades/deck parties/bbqs by the sound of it), but the elements of your review relating to life on board have been reassuring. I am very tech savvy so the thought of the ‘app’ doesn’t worry me - just queueing with Simon who is in a wheelchair. I have booked the Retreat for us as can’t face a sunbed battle and it does include some drinks and food - fingers crossed they don’t oversell it as I heard happened on one cruise! I now feel much more upbeat about the trip so thank you very much. 😊
