pepper88 Posted January 27, 2013 #1 Share Posted January 27, 2013 I'm planning my first trip on Viking (Moscow to St. Petersburg). Is it necessary to go through a travel agent (I never have for previous trips) or can I make all the arrangements through Viking? Their website seems quite informative with a lot of my questions already answered. Thanks for your help.
Rare Coral Posted January 27, 2013 #2 Share Posted January 27, 2013 You can go direct. I believe in the value of TAs but if you prefer to book direct, you can. Travel Agents (if they discount) can save you some money off of what Viking's prices are.
TravelBugM Posted January 27, 2013 #3 Share Posted January 27, 2013 I booked our upcoming cruise (our first cruise ever) directly with Viking. I found the customer service extremely helpful. We booked our own flights, as well as an additional night at the end of the cruise. We are arriving a day before the cruise begins and Viking made the extra night hotel reservation for us. trish1c Posted January 28, 2013 #4 Share Posted January 28, 2013 I just started looking at the possibility of a river cruise. The savings with the TA was only $50 & the TA wasn't offering anything with air but Viking had a $500 off deal. I don't know if that's any good but it was being touted on the website.
