  1. I leave in two weeks and have never seen the vaccine info on my app and the person going with me just installed the app and also doesn’t.  They also have more “buttons” on the bottom and can view more info about what we have booked- so who knows!  I tried deleting and reinstalling and that didn’t change anything.

I still do not see in this where it says passengers MUST provide a negative covid test 2 days before sailing?  This doesn't even say the cruise line has to require a test at all.  I have seen a lot of people say that the CDC is mandating this but I cannot seem to find anything where the CDC says it is mandatory to test negative within 2 days of sailing, let alone any other number of days.  This then asks the question why can't the cruise lines go back to 3 days before sailing to test?

    • People who decide to go on a cruise should get tested 1–3 days before their trip  regardless of vaccination status.

not a law but part of the suggestions for travel from CDC to Cruise lines.  I agree 3 would be easier but get the 2 days cause it’s safer.

Pretty sure none of the drug stores require you to have a car to be tested.  You could walk/take a bus/an uber/ a Lyft/bum a ride from friend or neighbor/ ride a bike...where I live you can take your golf cart to the stores.

    It’s drive thru testing

We just returned fro pm the Edge on Saturday and we submitted our Walgreens ID Now test from Abbott Labs which is a NAAT test.  Our results came in about 6 hours.  They do the processing in the store so you get a quick turnaround.

Just curious if we don’t have a car is there a way to test at Walgreens- doesn’t look like it.

It's going to be interesting to see if the cruise lines follow the CDC recommendation to quarantine when the ships re-enter the US waters. There are several ships including other cruise lines that are supposed to carry passengers during the TA.  None of them are currently scheduled to park for 14 days.

Think that’s the whole reason for canceling the TA - “quarantine” for the 14 days - whether they sail across the Atlantic or do it around closer waters works out to be the same.

I just wish they would come out with a set of rules. You want masks that’s fine. I’ll take that info and cancel. They are leaving things up in the air. It’s ridiculous.

Their guidelines are clearly listed online regarding masks, testing and vaccination- at least for now.  As with everything right now- subject to change.

what is required outside FL has no relevance to the FL law.

FL order states no business operating in Florida can refuse service for vax status or require proof for service.  This was the reason for "volunteering" proof as it was not a requirement for service, only reduced restrictions.

The cruise lines are boarding (this counts as operating)  passengers in FL, therefore they cannot refuse service.

My guess is they spoke with the state and came to an agreement.

There is no way they just suddenly decided to demand everyone on those sailings to show proof against the order.

So you are saying that delta airlines flying to Spain isn’t requiring people to show vaccination proof??  They can’t get into Spain without it.

The vaccine requirement went into play on August 1. The 95% 'rule' still exists, but not for cruises that sail to the USVI's, Antigua or Dominica. The exec making these comments also said he expected more and more ports to follow suit.

The mask guideline for <12 year olds is already updated on the website:

    https://www.celebritycruises.com/healthy-at-sea/us-travel-requirements

Ehh not so sure about that. If Florida says US citizens aren't required to have a passport to travel and someone wants to fly to London, they get on a plane and land in London, are those people permitted to enter the UK because of Florida law said its okay? Nope.

I agree!  Those flying from Florida have to test or vaccinate depending on where they are going, not where they are leaving and a cruise shouldn’t be any different!

Nothing on that. With the CSO expiring/extended/replacement coming at some point and all the other moving parts I think it will be a while before much is said about that. I don't think it really impacts that many ships industry-wide at this point so who knows. I bet it's a while before anything comes out.

I’m watching this closely as on the first Caribbean cruise on Silhouette——

    Really curious about trials.

Aren't most trial's double blind with half of the recipients receiving a placebo?   If so did they unblind the results and  advise the placebo participants and offer  a "real vaccine.

For the Novavax - because the vaccine is so available they gave those that got the vaccine a placebo a couple months later and those that got the placebo got the vaccine so everyone in the trial ultimately got the vaccine.  And they now have given them the CDC vaccine card.

Is your friend who participated in the AstraZeneca trial in the US.   The reason I ask is we participated in the trial on San Diego and now have the official CDC cards, originally we did not, just the AZ card showing we were fully vaccinated in a trial.
AstraZeneca has applied for full approval with the FDA rather than the EUA route.

Novavax has CDC cards too - but not officially approved - I have a friend in the trial.

Hi everyone! I had posted another topic about transitioning from NCL to Celebrity and you were all very helpful there, but when I updated to say I am now booked to sail solo on the Equinox July 25, I didn't get much feedback about what the solo experience is like on Celebrity. Are there special activities/events for solo cruisers? How is dining in the MDR handled?

I sailed solo - unplanned in March 2020 before everything shut down.  I didn’t really see any special activities and for dining I sat at my own table usually but close to others and chatted - sometimes I was at a bigger table.  I’m sure you could request what you prefer.

Yes, it was the end of cruise test.

One issue here is too much testing. There’s no need to test vaccinated people who aren’t showing any symptoms.

Don’t know if that is true- can have no symptoms and still expose someone else.  Also US requires test to come back so had to test.
