if you read the list most will Accept unvaccinated travelers with Covid tests/quarantines. Therefore it’s not up to the airline to require proof of vaccine. It’s up to the country’s immigration to decide whether the person is ‘exempt’ or needs to test/quarantine.

It all depends where u want to go and what you want to do and pay, personal choice - but many countries have required vaccines - I do disaster work and have had to get certain vaccines to do so - so be it - it’s up to where I’m traveling.

  2. Hi! With all the changes - I’m now sailing on the Silhouette.  I know it was a big deal after the revolution that concierge didn’t have foot stools any more but heard that that may have changed.  Just curious what folks experienced earlier this year.  Thanks!!

I hope everyone who has a cancelled Edge 10/11 night sailing for which there is a direct replacement on Silhouette is calling to demand get moved at the protected price/perks.   It's nothing more than a ship change which they did for their own convenience so they can sell the 7 night Edge cruises to their new target market.   They moved people from Infinity to Summit, granted a bit easier since the ships are identical stateroom configurations.

Yep I’ve complained- for now I rebooked. 😞

Did you get a cancellation notification from Celebrity? We received one on the 15th March re their global cancellations. Your cruise pre-dates this so I presume people like yourselves and Argo would have received cancellation notices particular to your specific cruises.

I would say that ours was straightforward as it was purely a cruise, no airfare involved.

Our cruise was cancelled after we left - or maybe call it ended very early.  No airfare involved for me.

We are UK cruisers with two cancelled cruises, both booked directly with X.

1st April Apex cruise, cancelled by X and we opted for the refund a day or so after notification. We received the refund to our credit card on April 29th, all correct albeit in 4 transactions on the same day. Our second cruise was for the 21st April and we are expecting our refund around the 21st May.

I heard that they are working through the refunds in order of sailing date, when was your sail date?

Definitely not by sail date.  Mine was 3/13 and still haven’t received.

I disputed a charge w/Chase on line. Just look up the charge, click on it, and you’ll see a link to dispute. It was simple and easy vs. calling. The amount of dispute was deducted from my balance the next day and Celebrity has 60 days to respond.

The time limit for filing a dispute is 60 days after it was charged. Are you within or outside the 60-day window?

Chase took mine more than 60 days after charge for my airfare, I assume because the flight hadn’t happened and was ultimately cancelled and they initially refused to give refund.

What was it like? I've seen a lot of press showing near empty planes. Most of the folks who responded flew before things really started shutting down, so I was curious.

I flew from Sacramento to Seattle on September 16. 2001. It was the first day of flights from Sacramento. Business trip. The absolutely strangest day I've ever seen at an airport or on a plane. The trip home a few days later was more normal, but still not normal.

I flew on March 17.  Two legs, airport very full for first leg, planes relatively full for both legs, one was completely but can’t remember if first or second flight.  Very few masks, guy hacking up a lung in row behind me coughing into his hand. 😡 on first flight, would have thought the airline would have done something.  Second airport not as busy but still folks around.  More social distancing in that airport but certainly not on plane.  No extra health screenings at either airport.  Arrival airport very empty.

I have flown for business. In both February and March.  Terminal seating for passengers is spaced.  No use of center seats.  Almost everyone wears a mask.  What did the cruise lines do in March when they were aware of covid19? How about wearing a mask outside your cabin during a cruise.   What you are missing is cruises do not fill a necessary function.  They are great, but business requires airplanes to move people and materials.  Nobody needs a cruise ship.

The flights I were on were not at all what you described. Very few masks, 100% full including middle seats.

We live in Nevada and the local news reports that the  49 Nevada passengers will return to Nevada if they test negative. There will be secure travel back to Nevada and there are certain conditions they have to abide by set up by the Dept of Health. They will have to sign a Declaration of Self Quarantine and will self quarantine for 14 days.  The Health Dept will provide ground transportation to avoid exposure to the community.

    Good plan!

On the Silhouette and no 8am announcement from the Captain like yesterday. The crew is being wonderful but as of last night knew nothing. Haven’t even looked outside yet. It’s very distressing and scary not to know what’s happening. And I could swear the Captain last night used the words “further evaluation.”  I may be wrong but my depressed ears perked up when I heard that.

They should at least be honest with the passengers if this is related to virus or not.  Not fair to leave you in limbo.  Not being transparent just makes it worse.  I can deal with most anything just be honest with me!  I’m supposed to be on reflection on Friday so watching closely.
