  1. The bottom line is to pack two bottles in your checked luggage & if they catch it, so be it. IF they don't you're ahead $30. Why put all four bottle in the carry on luggage & almost assure they'll find it?

They've created the problem so let they work for the money.

Aren't the instructions that wine must be carried on printed on your luggage tags?

  2. They have been doing this for a while.

However, the charge is not made until a couple of days before the land tour starts no matter how long before the tour you made the reservations.

In the trial of charging in advance for shore excursions during certain Alaska voyages next year, if you do not pay at the time you reserve them, then they are not reserved.

    That is a big difference.

No, it's changed. They used to charge land excursions a couple days before. Last year they charged 21 days before. Now it's 365 days before, or essentially when you reserve the land excursions. That's for all Alaska land tours, not just one ship like the pre-pay shore excursions pilot for Grand in 2016.

From talking to someone in reservations, my understanding is that they've had issues with collecting balances due if there's a problem with the credit card charge, since they can't just add it to your shipboard folio (the two systems don't talk to each other, apparently) and they didn't want to cancel people's tours at the last minute.

  3. You do not get OBC just for booking another cruise while on a cruise.

However, as others have mentioned, IF you purchase a FCC before making the booking, you will get OBC, the amount determined by the length of the cruise and the type of cabin you book.

If you book a cruise while you're on a cruise, you get the same benefits as those using an FCD.

  4. Yes, pre-cruise emails from marketing about shore excursions, entertainment, etc. Not operational emails like itinerary changes, visa notifications, or progressive boarding schedules. Those only go to the TA, unless it's a last minute change (like a boarding delay), in which case Princess may reach out straight to guests even if they have a travel agent.

  5. It's not like buying a TV at Best Buy, where they'll give you money back if there's a sale within two weeks. It's more like buying an airplane ticket, where the price can change at any time.

Sometimes they will let you refare to a lower rate, but the closer you get to sailing, the more likely the sales will be for new bookings only.

  6. I doubt it was a "mistake" in the Cruise Answer Book. There had been no verbiage regarding water or soda in any Princess printed or online information. That had to be specifically composed and added. If it was a "mistake" I bet it was intentionally made to test the waters.

I'm sure your right, but that seems to be the "corporate" answer.

  7. I just talked to someone at Princess who said the policy hasn't changed after all, and whoever confirmed it was official on January 1 basically made that up because it hasn't been stated anywhere. She said they're in the process of fixing the mistake in the Cruise Answer book.

  8. The policy has always been that if the drink is over $10, you pay full price, not the difference. It's been like that since the Unlimited package started.

Everything under $10 is included in the Unlimited package, so that includes milkshakes. I believe shakes are also in the Soda and More package, except on ships that don't make them (Ocean, Pacific, Royal and Regal).
