  1. Terry:

Thanks for this wonderful thread. Can't believe that I missed it in March :o Hope there was something similar about the Eclipse. We are going to sail on her for a two weeks Baltic cruise this summer. This is going to be our third Solstice class cruise, after the Equinox and Silhouette. Again, thanks for the beautiful pictures and all the information. :):)

  2. I just returned from the Eclipse last month.

The best books in the library are the books that past passengers leave behind. I suggest getting to the library after you board otherwise there is not much left.

True!!! I left a couple of new novels last year on the Silhouette :):) I always bring my own books. Planning to do the same this year on the Eclipse :)

  3. This really does sound like a great package! My fiancé doesn't drink at all and I almost never... And when I do it's usually a fruity cocktail. Therefore having a package with soda + extra would be awesome. I'm just curious what they would charge because the alcohol package seems overpriced. Here's hoping they make a package (probably not before our cruise in May though lol)

Celebrity's Classic Non alcoholic package is $14 a night and the Premium, $18 + gratuities. It is a great deal.

  4. I know I'm not the only one that doesn't drink. I love my virgin mango tango's and strawberry daiquiri's. I'd love to see a drink package for US.

I saw on another thread that they had them during spring break for the kids. We need them ALL the time.

    Who's with me?

I'm with you!! Another reason to cruise with Celebrity. Their Premium non alcoholic packages include the frozen drinks, fresh squeezed orange juice, premium coffees and teas, premium water, can sodas, and vitamin water. I hope RCCL offers something like this in the future.:):)

  5. I haven't really experienced anything really bad. My worst was last November on Independence sailing through Bay of Biscay. The sea was rough enough for the pool water to be spilling out.

Crossing the Bay of Biscay on the Independence was the worst for us too. The Ice Show was cancelled due to the rough seas.

  6. We were fortunate enough to have a CS on the Equinox a couple of years ago. This was our first cruise with Celebrity, but were given Elite status because we are D+ in RCCL. We didn't ask the butler to pack or unpack, we are really low maintenance. As Elite we were given two sets of Elite coupons, each with a free wash and fold bag. I really love Celebrity's laundry coupons and the Butler noticed it. He gave me extra coupons for free laundry at the end of the cruise, which was really nice. Last year we downgraded ourselves to two C-1 cabins and really missed the space and the special service. This summer we booked a SS for two weeks in the Baltic and recently was able to upgrade myself (the upgrade fairy doesn't like me), to a Royal Suite. Looking forward to have breakfast on our balcony, as some of you have described. ;);)

  7. We're just off Reflection in an Aquasuite which is in the same basic area as your Royal Suite (second Cabin into hump from rear). We DEFINITELY heard some noise from the pool deck, early mornings and late nights mostly that bugged us a little and generally woke me earlier than I would have liked. I wasn't in the cabin too much other times, but it was definitely not heard as much when I was there. It was the only disappointment with this area of the ship, otherwise it is a great location. I've seen the cabin and it is beautiful for sure, much nicer than the S1, but you'll have to decide if that makes up from having only 1 bathroom with your boys.

    Happy Sailing!

Thanks for the feedback!! Is really one and a half bathroom. We'll manage!! Hope the noise doesn't bother my husband too much. I'm an early riser, and we are cruising the Baltic, we have five days at sea and long tours on port days!! Thanks again :):)

  8. Thanks Gambee. I just watched the video. I actually needed some of the help from the audience on that one. The karaoke system that they have doesn't really have pitch control, just up one or down one, and I don't think they lowered it at all. I usually do that song down a third from the Chairman of the Board, but gave it the old "what the heck" try.

You are a great singer!!! I love karaoke, I only watch because I don't sing :)

Gambee:The fisheye pictures are just AMAZING!!!

  9. I'm not getting much done between Chris and gambee's reports.

I'm loving the pictures....is that Captain always on Silhouette? He's HOT! :D

Glad to know that I'm not the only one spending too much time between Chris and Gambee's reports!!

BTW, we cruised with Captain Kafetzis last summer and I have never shown so much interest about a captain in my life!!:D:D Hope Celebrity moves him to the Eclipse in July:)

  10. The meet and mingle went very well my friends. The CD Lisa Richards came by to say hi and several officers, including Captain Kafetzis :)

We cruised on the Silhouette last summer and I can only say that Captain Kafetzis is a hottie! I went to see him playing volley ball at the swimming pool and also when he gave a lecture. I even enjoyed the Muster drill and his jokes! Do I have a crush? :D:D

Chris, I'm having so much fun reading your blog. Thank you, and please enjoy QSine, we loved it!!

Gambee!! your pictures are amazing!! I'm having so much fun reading your review. I just realized that my daughter and son are going to be in different groups on our next cruise. My 15 y/o son will have a lot of fun with the senior teens and my 14 y/o daughter is not going to be happy as a junior teen. :D:D She is going to be so mad!!!:D:D

    Thanks for this wonderful review!!

  12. We were thinking about upgrading to that suite when it became available yesterday! There was not an available cabin close enough to put our boys in. Enjoy it.

Our TA is holding the room for us. We booked this cruise late and didn't like our previous room. I'll try to enjoy it!! You should join our roll call!

    Hi drarill,

The pool deck in this area is slightly thicker than under the buffet.

So you can expect some more protection from potential noise.

Other than that - best location.

Hopefully they won't charge you extra for this change.:)

The regular price is too high for this ship.

    Enjoy your cruise.

Thanks Cruisetrail, We were not crazy about the deck of our previous cabin. being on top of Tuscan Grill and having the blue roof in front of our balconies. We will have to manage with one bathroom, but I know we can do it. :D:D thanks again for all your help, you made me realize that we needed another cabin. Keep the good work, it is appreciated!

  13. I agree completely. I would have no concerns or misgivings in taking a photograph for evidence. None! If you smoke next to my balcomy it is WAR!

I also agree with you!! One of the main reasons we cruise with Celebrity is their smoking policy. Someone suggested on another thread to highlight and tape the smoking policy on the smoker cabin's door. If that doesn't work it will mean war.
