  1. We don't eat caviar, but our friends do and they were with us on one of our Cunard cruises and would concur!
  2. I've just spent the last 5/10 minutes catching up on the Cunard forum and I'm flabbergasted by some of the comments in this thread stating that the food on Cunard (QG) is sub-standard and that the suites are small! I am currently on a Crystal cruise and enjoying it very much (in a Junior Crystal Penthouse Suite). We have also cruised with Regent several times, in either a Grand Suite or Master Suite and on Cunard (QM2 and QE2 in either a Q1 or a Q2). We enjoy all 3 cruise lines, but to say that the accommodations and food on Cunard is below the standard of that on Crystal or Regent is beyond my understanding. Obviously, food is subjective but I think that each of these 3 lines offer wonderful food and would not put one above another. Accommodations are not subjective (at least in terms of size) and the largest suites we have stayed in were on Cunard. Not really sure why I'm bothering to post this, other than that I don't like to see misinformation and would hate anyone to be put off by generalised comments. Rant over!
  3. I certainly agree with avalon244 about Umi Uma - whilst we enjoyed the meal in Osetaria, I don't think it compared to UU. I used to like Prego also, but again much preferred UU. We feel a bit differently to Keith about the specialty restaurants. We don't like dining in big restaurants, so usually eat in the specialities or Tastes on Crystal and the specialities on Regent. On Cunard we love the QG restaurant - same table, same people serving us and has a nice, intimate feel to it.
  4. Just goes to show how subjective food is. We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner in Osteria d'Ovidio a few nights ago, although we chose from the a la carte menu rather than going for the tasting menu so perhaps we chose differently. One problem I think they may have going forward is that the menu is a somewhat limited, so could become repetitive if they don't introduce a greater variety of dishes.

    White Night

Yes, I remember that and also that you said there would be a white party - it's hard to keep up with so much info flying around though. As I type this Louis has just started singing😍 so it must be time to leave Katakolon
  6. Just a brief pop in to say that we are on this cruise and, on the whole, are having a wonderful time. There have been a few issues, all except one being minor. I will do a complete review next week but just wanted to check in and say that our experience so far has been very close to our memories of previous Crystal cruises with some significant improvements in a couple of areas 😊
  7. I echo everyone else's comments above; a lovely and interesting review. So sorry to hear you caught Covid, and sincerely hope you make a swift recovery. A depressing end to a wonderful cruise - you may need another one to fully recuperate afterwards!
  8. Ah, thank you😊We are very much looking forward it and will be sure to report back!
  9. Hello, yes this is what I have been told also.
  10. Just Received them today..
  11. Thanks for the update. We join in Venice. Can't wait!
  12. Hoping all is well onboard Symphony and would welcome any news/comments.
  13. Any observations on Symphony?
  14. I echo others' comments. Great review and a very interesting read. Completely agree about the theatre in QE winning over that in QM2. Am hoping it will be similar on QV. Love those boxes and was disappointed to find they are not on QM2.
  15. Looking forward to hearing about it. 150 guests. Wow!

    Reviews?

Yes, all the other lines I follow from time to time have a box at the top of their forum with this 'Read Regent Cruise Reviews written by cruisers just like you' (obv. not all Regent!) Also, I am almost certain that the original Crystal forum had the same thing

    Reviews?

I just came across a review for Crystal while looking for something else on CC, but see that there isn't a link to Crystal reviews from within this forum (unless I am missing something, which is entirely possible!) There is just one review so far, other than the ones which appeared within this forum, so I think it might be useful if it were easier to find and might encourage people to post reviews?
  18. I'm interested in Cunard's Event Cruises, and so took a look at their website at the section entitled 'event cruises'. There were several cruises featured, but only some mentioned any kind of event. I'm wondering whether each of the cruises mentioned will become an event cruise but haven't yet been allocated and whether any of you remember if this was the case in previous years?
  19. Thank you for posting your review, and what wonderful photographs. Good to read positive comments. Am looking forward to our first QV sailing in a couple of months. I'm comparatively new to Cunard, but based on our first 3 sailings would absolutely agree about the entertainment. We're not particular fans of cruise ship entertainment generally, but have been completely wowed by some of the guest entertainers we have seen on Cunard. Also some of the speakers. Glad you enjoyed your first post-Covid Cunard sailing.
  20. We'll be on Symphony 2 weeks tomorrow for a short (8-day) sailing which we just managed to squeeze in between other trips. Looking forward to being back onboard a Crystal ship and happy to answer any questions if I can.
  21. Deck Chair - thank you for taking the time to reply to my post. You clearly enjoyed the dancers enormously; it sounds like the performances were outstanding. I have been in touch with Cunard over the last few months to try and find out whether ENB will be returning next year and have not received a firm yes/no which concurs with what you are saying😞
  22. Thanks for the heads up. I love ballet and considered this cruise for that reason alone but couldn’t make it work. Oh dear, I hope it isn’t a letdown. Fingers crossed for a review tomorrow 😊
  23. Wondering if anyone is onboard and can comment on the ballet performances?
  24. So looking forward to reading about your time onboard QV and wishing you a wonderful sailing in good health!
  25. Brilliant, thank you Keith. I have enjoyed reading your account of your cruise and am delighted that you are having such a great time, and that it is living up to (and beyond) your expectations. We are very much looking forward to trying Crystal again. I am finding my way around the website. However, when I do as you suggest (click on suites/details), it does not say that there is either unlimited dining in Umi Uma or room service from Umi Uma, although it does list both as being possible in the Italian restaurant. Perhaps I'm missing something, but I don't see it.
