  1. I just did the deal 6 times now down to under $200 for each of the rooms I have booked for cruise in December ... So will use discounted AARP cards to pay for that

For reference the hubby and I each have an account with american express and then we have additional cards for each account - So as long as you create a separate login for each card you can add the deal to each of the cards even if they share and account

  2. Eh, this offer isn't as good. Between the AARP discount and cashback for that purchase, I'd save about $30 going this route. Or with my Chase Sapphire Reserve, I'd save $60, but lose included insurance coverage.

Now if you have 2-3 American Expresses with this offer, that could be something.

not sure how you figure your only saving $30 ... Your saving $75 which is 21-22% which is over double what you save with AARP

  3. Frys has 4x fuel points right now on all travel gift cards through July 17. We decided to buy the Cheers Package. You can choose the amount on the gift card. So you think each person in our cabin could buy their own gift card then use all 3 to buy the 3 drinks package?

Sent from my iPhone using Forums

yes it just has to be done at the same time because when you purchase Cheers it adds everyone at the time of purchase so have them buy their giftcards then give them to one person to make the purchase

  4. Hi - do you know

    1. Can it be multiple transactions that add up to 35?

    2. If #1 is yes, will it work on soda card purchase?

    Tha ks!

No it has to be $350 all at once ... And no it does not work on Fun Shop Purchases as that gets billed as something other than Carnival ... I Know because I tried to buy cruise cash thinking it would save me $100 from $500 when it did not credit me I just had the fun shop refund it

  5. Isn't it only good for a one time $75 credit when you spend $350 or more with Carnival? I didn't think you could do 4 payments of $350 each and get $300 in credits but I could be wrong...hopefully I'm wrong.

You can go online to your Amex card and actually order a secondary card as if you were going to give one say to your spouse but you can actually use your own name and get a secondary card - Then when the knew card comes just create it's own login for that card and you can add that deal to the card - I found out you can order a card in your own name by accident because I logged into my own account instead of my hubbies account - So now I have 5 cards in my name that I can do the deal on

  6. I have not cruised in a few years so I was wondering...with the new "staggered check-in" has anybody noticed a huge difference in the time it takes to go through security/the whole boarding process?

I just purchased FTTF and my boarding appointment is 11:30am. In the past I never attempted to board that early since so many people were wanted to get on the ship as soon as possible.

Since you have FTTF it would be very nice of you to change your boarding appointment to the latest time available so that someone who does not have FTTF can have the opporutunity to get the 1130 boarding - Since you have FTTF it does not matter what boarding time you have

  7. Carnival gives nothing away.

Except to past guests, who depending on how man times they've sailed, receive pins, and chocolate covered strawberries, and drink coupons, and bottled water, and gifts, and free laundry service, and past guest parties; and to shareholders, who receive onboard credit each time they sail; and to back-to-back guests who receive free drinks, fruit baskets and champagne.

Not to mention you can get free playing cards from guest services and free lanyards from the casino

  8. We were on the Legend from June 12-19. There were 3 couples that had the obstructed views. We all had the shorter lifeboats. The first three boats are taller. Here is a picture I found that might give you a perspective. It all depends are where you room is situated. The second picture was my view from 5180. I hope this helps.

we were just down the hall from you 5237 same sailing ... our obstruction was not that tall - the top of it was the bottom of our floor basically

  9. We have done Christmas many times and while there are activities if it is a port day they will be light activities just because it is assumed that most people will get off the ship - From what I recall in the past most of the activities were done the night before

  10. We just did this last month in Belize. Our guide for the day was David Castillo and he knew we wanted to donate supplies. We took paper, pencils, erasers, glue sticks, and scissors. While we were out and about, we stopped by the school. The teacher allowed us to come into the classroom, interact with the students, donate the supplies and spend some time there. It was a GREAT experience. I do know in Roatan if you go with Rony's you can just tell your driver you want to donate supplies and they will take you to where you want to donate.

Rony's is who we booked our tour with

  11. I would put the drawstring bags in a beach bag or a backpack to make it a little less obvious as you get off the ship. Just carry the empty bags back to the ship, donate them, or fill them with some goodies like coffee from the local grocery store or other souvenirs.

We are actually planning on just filling the bags with goodies for each child then they keep the entire bag with everything in it

  12. I worked out a tour myself and he is going to gather up 20 children for us that he knows can use the supplies since it can be hit or miss if you even get to see the kids at a school or orphanage ... We were planning on putting everything in drawstring bags - so 20 bags figured with 4 of us we could each carry 5 bags .. Do you think this will be a hassle getting off the ship?

  13. The closest I have ever gotten to that while on a cruise ship is on Disney they left envelopes with our dining staff individual names and our room steward and someone else I can't remember for us to leave tips in addition to those already pre-done

I always tip a little extra if my service was good normally that means the dining staff, my room steward, then of course piano bar guy gets tipped nightly as he plays my songs, and then if there is bar staff member that is just really good to us we will tip them extra .... Surprisingly this past cruise I just got off I did not tip my room steward extra and it's not that he did not do a good job in the room but the fact was I only saw him twice the entire cruise he would like sneak in the room while we were gone and by the time we got back all his junk was cleared from the hall and unlike most experiences the next morning when we got up to debark he was no where to be seen normally I find them hanging in the hallways usually with one last goodbye in hopes of getting an extra tip so he just did not get anything extra and well frankily he did nothing to go out of his way for us so I really was not feeling like he deserved extra anyways

  14. The 0 has a 1 in 38 chance of coming up on every spin, no matter how long it's been since it last appeared. It's the law of independent events. Seriously.:D

Yup it does and some people get a good feeling when it's time for it to be played

  15. Seriously when your watching and a zero has not come around in so many numbers you can most certainly get a good feeling of when to play 0 ... I def don't come out ahead as a huge mega winner on this game but I can usually break even at the least

I lose more on regular roullete because I spend more money which does not really give you a ton to work your way back to winning some of it back.

On electric I find I just do better and tend to break even at least if not a few dollars ahead on electric

  16. Yah I just realized I quoted 2 posts I only meant to quote the one that you would lose in 38 spins

periodically we would split the Zero's especially when one of us got that feeling and it would usually show up in 3-4 spins

  17. If I bet Red or Black and keep doubling if I loose until I finally win does method work? The only way i can see it not working is if there is a cap on amount of betting you can place.

Example: I bet $25 on Red it hits black so next time I bet $50 on red and it hits black. Next hand I bet $100 on red it hits black. Next hand $200 it hits red so I have made back my loses and gained $25. I just need to know is there a limit on bets because this won’t work if it goes too high doubling

You'll still lose $20 every 38 spins, on average about 53 cents per spin.

That would be incorrect ... I along with many other people on the Carnival Legend would pop money in and play on that same money for DAYS upon DAYS at a time

  18. I had a couple of questions specifically about the Carnival Legend. It's too late to change anything regarding our reservations at this point, but just so we aren't surprised...

    1. We opted for an obstructed balcony view (we're really pretty flexible), specifically cabin 5156, for our upcoming cruise. The only thing obstructing the view in that specific cabin, from what I can tell based on photos and deck plans, is the top of a lifeboat, correct?

    2. On Norwegian two years ago, we hated our dining experience because in order to get anything halfway decent in the main dining room, you had to pay extra. The "included" items were very underwhelming, flavorless, and disappointing. We went with Carnival this time because, on past Carnival cruises, I recall there being a great rotating menu. Is this true for the Carnival Legend currently? Even if the menu isn't the best dining experience you've ever had, are the rotating items generally "included?"

    Thank you in advance!

I was just in 5237 and obstructed simply means you won't be able to look down as their is the lifeboat there you can still look out

Carnival Legend has a different menu every night and they have many chef specials included free based on seafood after all your in Alaska ... We have never had an issue finding something yummy on the menu
