  1. We never had any problem booking 7 or 7:15 depending which one was open, we usually go to the dining room around 7. Cruise is still 2 months away and when I went to book the times all that was available was 6:15 or earlier or 8 or 8:15 or later. I booked some nights for the 6:15 and some for the 8:00. I figure we will go to the dining room at 7-7:15 and see what happens. Not sure if it's better to go earlier or later to the time I booked. The worst that can happen is they will put on the no reservation waiting line.
  2. The selections have gotten much better. More choices of ships and sailings. My upcoming sailing is 10 days to the southern Caribbean.
  3. The value is in how unbelievable the savings are. Had a free balcony on the Reflection recently and did have to pay taxes/fees and tips. Priced my next free balcony on the Equinox with the future cruise people and it priced out at $3200.00 less $400.00 OBC. Taxes/fees will be under $300.00 and whatever tips are at that time. Just hope they keep sending me the offers. Not sure if they will send out free offers for summer sailings but who can figure any of this out.
  4. Got the same email offer today as the other day with the 10% off with drinks, tips and wi-fi included. Big selection of sailings from Florida, Europe and looks like Alaska but no cruises listed past June. Think I will pass on this deal and hopefully get more offers for free balcony cabins.
  5. Just saw a BCC email that came in this afternoon. I was hoping it was for a free balcony room but turns out it's for10% off cruise fare with drinks, tips and wi-fi included. Not sure this is such a great deal after getting a few emails with free balcony offers. Could probably do better using a TA or Celebrity rep.
  6. Totally agree with the above. Was on the Reflection in one of those cabins and the balcony was at least twice the length as a regular balcony.
  7. I usually book with an online TA that that you can only contact by email or sometimes on a site where TA'S will compete for your business. Priced a cruise on Celebrity website last year for a September 2022 sailing that I thought was a little over priced for a 9 night with drinks/tips and wi-fi. I called Celebrity and must have gotten the right rep as she gave me a price that was between $800-$1000.00 less than had I booked on the website and it included the drinks/tips and wi-fi. I normally don't book directly with the cruise line because as others have stated you can sometimes get OBC and other extras from TA'S. But I have no complaints with the deal I got from the Celebrity rep.
  8. I totally agree with your decision to wear masks. We were on the Equinox in September and did not wear masks. I tested positive on day 5 of 9 day cruise and we were stuck in cabin for the remaining 4 days. We were on the Reflection in mid December and we both wore masks except while eating. I also used rubber gloves in the buffet when touching the serving spoons and luckily we managed to stay safe. We will be on the Equinox again in March and I will be using masks and gloves again. Don't know how much they helped but they certainly not taking any chances.
  9. This is from the viewpoint of being in just a regular balcony without all the extras. We have been on the Equinox at least 4 times and have really enjoyed the cruises with the exception of September when I tested positive on day 5 of 9 day sailing. We will be on again in March. Was on the reflection earlier this month and with the only negative that it was only 7 days and not longer. We had a very good time and if you are not interested in the specialty restaurants, I think either ship is a good choice.
  10. Have been on the Equinox 4-5 times and always had a great time except for September when I tested positive on day 5 of 9 day sailing. Was on the Reflection a few weeks ago and also had a great time. Will be on the Equinox again in March and can't wait.
  11. What level are you to be getting the drinks and wi-fi along with the free room? We are happy just to have the free room but I will ask my wife to spend more time in the casino when we are on the Equinox.
  12. Was on the Reflection recently in a BCC free veranda with a twice as large as regular balcony. Had a really great cruise. Have a 10 night BCC coming up on the Equinox for under $300.00. Went to the future cruise people to see the regular cost with no perks $3200.00 if booked on the ship with $400.00 OBC and all included was over $5000.00. We did spend some time in the casino so hope these offers keep coming.
  13. BCC is Blue Chip Club. I believe it's part of Celebrity casino and they send out emails with offers of free veranda cabins on a variety of ships and sailings. How they decide who to send these offers to seems to be a mystery. Some people say it's to those who have spent money in the casino while others don't remember spending anything and have gotten offers.
  14. We were on the same cruise and I agree with the above comment. Was in a cabin that had a balcony that was at least twice as large as a regular balcony. That this was a BCC offer made it even more enjoyable a cruise.
  15. I went on to Celebrity website to price out the 10 day cruise and it's just over $2,700.00 with no perks. Makes the $269.00 price even more unbelievable.
  16. One sailing is the Equinox for 10 days in a regular midship balcony for total price of $269.00 or the Reflection for 7 days in a midship upgrade to AquaClass for $634.00. We have never been in an AquaClass but you can't beat 10 days instead of 7 for almost $400.00 less in price. Would greatly appreciate any thoughts in helping me to decide.
  17. Received a new BCC email with a bunch of choices. Not to complain but they can make it difficult to decide what to book and hope it's still available when you call. Went with the Equinox in March but could not get an AquaClass cabin. Hope everyone that gets the offer winds up with their first choice.
  18. I tried calling twice today and gave up after about an hour each time. Will try again in the morning, how far behind can they be at that hour when they start taking calls. I still want them to clarify if it's 10 or 20 pp per day to upgrade to Aqua.
  19. Just to be clear in my mind, you did an upgrade from a regular veranda to Aqua, not from a concierge to Aqua. I was going to call BCC earlier today but did not have a chance. I will call first thing tomorrow and see if I can get any sort of answer as to how they decide on upgrade amount. Who knows, maybe I can get them to adjust the amount I was charged.
  20. My wife is shown as ONYX and I am shown as PEARL. But the email offer is in her name.
  21. Think I will call bcc and see if they actually can give a reason why possibly different charges.
  22. I called bcc yesterday and did the upgrade to Aqua. Cost was $20.00 a day pp. Same amount I was quoted day I booked. Some earlier responses people said they paid $10.00 but all the latest responses indicate $20.00. I was originally told by bcc that the $10.00 was upgrade from veranda to concierge not Aqua. It''s not that the addl charge for Aqua is that much especially when only paying taxes/fees but if some people actually did only pay $10.00 to upgrade from veranda to Aqua, that amount should be available to all.
  23. Called Blue Chip and asked all the questions I had wanted to ask. Yesterday they mentioned some of the available AquaClass cabins and one of them was a slanted balcony cabin. Went on Celebrity website this morning to see what was still open and the slanted cabin was not available. Called to do the change to AquaClass and apparently that cabin was actually available so I had them make the change. The cost was $20.00 a day pp. Actually don't mind the extra expense since We were on the 9/17 sailing on Equinox and I tested positive on day 5 of 9 day sailing and received pro rated refund for 4 days. Will be on another Blue Chip cruise in a few weeks and unfortunately never thought about making an upgrade and hopefully will be able to enjoy the whole cruise.
  24. Since this is a free cruise except for taxes/fees, I think the extra money for AquaClass may be worth it for blue and the other extras that AquaClass provides. If I decide to go with it I will call Blue Chip tomorrow to change cabins.
