  1. We stayed 3 in a room and had no issues at all! It was my mother (62 at the time), My best friend (45 at the time) and my self (42 at the time). We had the main bed set up as twins and then there was a pull down bed. So we set it up like bunk beds and the other bed along the wall, this gave us a lot more floor space!

We don't really spend a lot of time in the room (this was an interior:eek:), but it really was no problem at all! I was worried prior but all worked out just fine! There was plenty of storage, we unpacked and put suitcases under the bed, we also brought on over the door shoe hanger to hold all our products, we each got two rows!

I hope you have a great time!

  2. We just got off the Magic Saturday and it was amazing! This was our 6th cruise and so far the best ship! We have been on Valor, Fantasy, Elation, ecstasy, and Glory they were all great ships but something about the Magic has made it number one in our book!

We are trying to decide on next year and have it down to April 2019 either Horizon or Conquest. Both are 8 days similar ports, horizon is a couple 100 more, but not enough to make a difference!

If someone could chime in that has been on all 3 Magic, horizon and conquest and give me some advice or just your option it would be appreciated!

  3. I have an email into my vacation planner, but got an auto response that she will be out till Tuesday and was wonder if anyone else had experience in this and would share?

I have two rooms booked each with 3 people, the room that my son and his wife are booked in is a fully refundable rate. I want to cancel the two of them but want to keep the 3rd person in the room! Is this possible? I'm assuming I would then have to pay a single supplement, which is doable.

The other room is early saver, so I know I can't do much without fees attached.

I'm trying to figure out if I should cancel the two, keep the one in the room pay the single supplement, then after boarding move the 3rd person in my room into this room or if I should try to move him pay the change fee and then not pay the single supplement. I'm not trying to get out of paying whatever is need, just trying to see what I'm allowed to do and if anyone has an idea?

  4. Thank you for the information!! We do plan to do either Xel-Ha or VIP Exclusive Tulum & centote swim in Cozumel, this will be pretty pricy for 6 people!

In Roatan I have already booked with Victor Bodden tours for a private driver and van for the day to take us to West Bay beach. But this was not to bad at 25$ per person!

I was considering either YaYa beach or Barefoot beach in Costa Maya, or even Chacchoben Mayan ruins & beach combo, but I will check out your suggestion!

Belize is the one I'm trying to figure out, I know some want to cave tube and some want to see ruins, that's why I liked the idea of combining the two! Or maybe we could cave tube in Belize and see some ruins in Costa Maya?

With the cost of the Cozumel excursion (We are leaning towards Xel-Ha, or I would count Tulum as the ruins visit) I would prefer to go a little cheaper in the other ports!

Thank you for your advice and any information you can give!!

  5. Thank you for the reply! I have been looking into doing ruins in another port! I will check out the options you mentioned!! Overall I'm trying to save a little money, but still do amazing things for the kids first cruise! :)

  6. I did run down the first couple of pages and did not see this answer, so sorry if it has been asked before!

We are going on Carnival Magic April 2018, port time is 8am to 5 pm. I have in the past done mostly ship excursions. This trip we (hubby and I) are taking our 3 kids 16, 21, &25. and one of there spouses. So there will be a total of 6 of us, I've started doing a little research for cheaper options. I found shoreexcurioneer tour Belize Altun HA Mayan ruins, cave tubing and sightseeing excursion. This sounds Perfect! As some in our group want to see ruins and others want to cave tub! But I worry about time and making it back to the ship! The excursion is listed at being 6 hours. I did read the reviews on there site (only 9) and what was there was all good!

So I guess my questions are.. has anyone on here done this excursion? How did time work out? Was it enjoyable or did you just worry about making it back to the ship? Idk any advice on this would be great!

To be honest if carnival offered a trip with both ruins and tubing I would book that and be done with it!

Thanks to anyone who takes the time to offer any advice!

  7. Oh the excitement of a first cruise!

Packing - if you are going to "dress" for dinner, take things that are interchangeable - like khaki pants/shorts that the kids can wear more than one time. If you are sun lovers and water lovers, don't pack as many clothes because more than likely you will spend most of your sea days in a swimsuit. Don't over pack - something I'm still working on after 7 cruises! It's just hard when you have kids though.

Don't be afraid to book excursions on your own instead of with Carnival. Just keep in mind about the time restraints, time changes and be sure you are back at the ship in a timely manner. We have never taken Carnival excursions and have always made it back on time. Cost is less and you normally get more personal attention I believe.

Costa Maya is one of our favorite places - take a bus or taxi to Mahahual (downtown) and go to the beach. There are several places that you can go to that will reserve lounge chairs and umbrellas for you free of charge as long as your purchase drinks or some food from them. It is absolutely beautiful. The place where we went arranged massages on the beach for us, snorkeling, etc. and it was a stress free day. The water or gorgeous and the sand never gets hot.

Cozumel - Depending on what you want to do, I would suggest a driver for the day. We have used the same one several times and he is wonderful. He is a true gentleman and has taken us all over the island - any where we wanted to go and told us all about the island, it's people, etc.

Belize - we loved the cave tubing. I would definitely suggest an excursion here unless you just want to tender in and look around right at the port.

Roatan - we did a private tour here to - it was interesting and we enjoyed it as well.

I'm not supposed to mention specific tour guides, etc. here but if you are interested in the ones we have used, let me know and I'll get you my email address.

Have fun and don't try to do it all - you just can't and if you try, you'll still need a vacation when this one is over!

DH and I decided to take our three sons and one of theirs wife's on our cruise next April. This will be all of their first time! This will be DH and i's 6th cruise. With so many this time I'm trying to find at least slightly cheaper options. We have almost always done carnival excirsons in the past.

I would be interested In the driver you used as well as the name of the beach area you used. And how to arrange that. THank you!

  8. On my first cruise in 2008 they had Video camera people that followed people all around including on certain excursion and they would play this on the big screen!! That was really cool. Or at least I thought it was!

Then you could buy the whole weeks video if you decided to!! There was a lot of funny and interesting things on it!

  9. We are doing the same thing in April! Our flight is at 6pm. The only other was 930am that seamed way to early for me to feel comfortable. So we decided to book an excursion through Carnival.

Once we arrive in Miami, we are going on the Everglades and Fll airport transfer! So they will store our luggage and get us to the airport and we get to do something fun!

I think we will still be to the airport about noon or one I don't remember but this might be something for you all to do if interested!

Hope you have a wonderful trip!

  10. Thank you both for your replies! I was also worried that that was just way to much for one day! I had only asked for ATV, visiting one of the forts and then said I was open to other ideas! This day does sound amazing and I would love to do all of this and the price was great! But like both of you are saying I fear this is just way to much!

Would you all recommend just doing the atv rainforest excursion through the cruise line (4 hours) and then if time permits once back in port going to one of the forts or maybe just walking around old San Juan?

Again thank you for you help!

  11. I contacted a private vendor (Creative Adventure Puerto Rico) in San Juan about doing certain things while there, they responded with the following........The ATV and Rainforest can be a 2 for 1 deal since the ATV trail is next the Rainforest. The hike and waterfall is only 30 minutes away and in the return trip we can take the scenic road where we can see a cave along with a beautiful beach view with a break to eat. We will get everthing done with time to shop in Old San Juan or see the fort, El Morro.

    > You will be picked up in a 4x4 Jeep Wrangler, snacks included, water and the service of transportation with guide.

Now to me this sounds wonderful! But there are some concerns... getting back to the ship on time, port canceling or changing day (things happen) and losing my deposit. I don't know I guess I'm just wondering if someone could share if they have used this vendor and if this itinerary seems doable? Thanks in advance for any help!

We will be in San Juan from 7am-3:30pm

    Thanks

  12. I really did scan through to see what I could find and I did see some ideas and maybe I just didn't go back far enough!:o I know that a while back I had read a thread about shuttles but I could not remember any of the names, nor could I find the notes I had taken on the subject! I have no luck (maybe user error) when using the search function.

    Thank you for you help!

  13. Any ideas/suggestions for getting from Ft Lauderdale airport to a hotel in Miami? I checked taxi fare viewer and it seems it will be around $82:( to the hotel, then at the end of the trip from port back to FLL will be around $88.

From the Hotel to port will only be around $12:) so that's not an issue!

We are coming in the day before the cruise and will stay a night in Miami. On the last day we will go strait from port to FLL.

    Any suggestions would be appreciated!

  14. Loving your review, thank you for taking the time to do this!! Hubby and I love the smaller ships (really all we have been on, except Valor). Hubby says they seem less crowed! We are going to try a bigger ship next April (glory), so we will see if he still feels that way!!

Well my question may be weird but I'm loving all the grape trees?? Assuming there are vines in there lol. Just wondering if they are eatable?

Now for the real question we are going to st Thomas next April (never been) I was thinking of the trunk bay excursion. Have you been there? And if I may ask if not what made you pick the other places you have been. Just trying to get some info so I can make an informed decision on our day there!! Thanks!!!
