  1. Ok, so I took pictures of the Times with both my phone and regular digital camera, and I just can't get good, clear pictures of them. Another option is I can scan them at work on Monday and upload them, or even photocopy and send them via snail mail. When are you cruising?

  2. I have them from April 6th-13th but I don't have a scanner. The best I could do is take pictures of them and post them. Would that work? I could probably do it some time tomorrow.

  3. This happened to me twice. The first time, I got no email response, but the credit showed up a couple days later. The second time, I got no response and no credit showed up, so I had to call Carnival. They said they had no record of me submitting the price drop form , so they connected me to a manager, who I guess magically was able to find my email, and I got my OBC. I would either submit another form, or give them a call.

  4. We are looking to book our first cruise for our 15-year anniversary

I just had to reply to this, because we just went on our first cruise last month, and we were celebrating our 15th anniversary! Your post tugged at my heartstrings! :D:D

You will have an amazing time, no matter what itinerary you choose! Feel free to read my review (link in signature), we did the Western Caribbean, which was Montego Bay, Jamaica and Cozumel. We were supposed to also stop at Grand Cayman, but we had to skip it due to high seas, and that was ON our anniversary. That was disappointing. But we had a great time in both ports. Good luck in making your decision! :)

  5. That's horrible! That's happened to us twice, but we have no way of knowing how this person got our check card number. We live in Oklahoma, and someone in California was using our bank account/check card number to go on a shopping spree to the tune of nearly $2000. Another time, someone in New York used it to order themselves a new laptop from Walmart. Luckily, both times our bank was on it and shut off our account immediately, and we were reimbursed for all the charges.

  6. As with any vacation we take, I book a year in advance, and pay on it as we go. We don't have/use credit cards, we pay for everything with cash, so this is how we have to travel. For our current cruise, I will make a payment of $92 every 2 weeks starting June 15th, and it will be paid off January 15th. When that's paid off, I'll book the flight, and then I'll save up our spending money. I love not coming home to a credit card bill! :D

  7. We booked our recent April cruise nearly a year out, and we ended up with over $300 in onboard credit through price drops. You just cannot beat booking early, and booking early saver if your dates are set in stone. We attended a future cruise seminar on our last cruise, and the guy that was doing it could not stress enough how important it is to book early, and how beneficial it is to book early saver! I just booked our cruise for next April this morning, and my rate was $769 per person for 7 nights in a cove balcony. :)

  8. It would be so easy to spend hundreds onboard the ship! Between the shops, the pictures, the coffee shop, the casino, the specialty restaurants, the alcohol, etc. It all depends on what you want and what you do. If you booked early saver, be sure and check for price drops to get some onboard credit. We had over $300 in OBC, and didn't have to put any money on our account until the end, and even then it was under $50. We had drinks, souvenirs from the shops, dessert from the coffee shop, etc, all covered by OBC. Where our budget really took a hit was in port, where EVERYONE and their dog wanted a tip. And the taxi ride alone in Cozumel, round trip with tip, was $40. We easily dropped $100 in tips just in 2 ports. (We had to skip Grand Cayman due to high seas.) I say bring more money then you think you will need, and go home with some. That's better than not having enough while on your cruise!

I do respectfully disagree with the poster who said that first-timers should stick with Carnival excursions. We took our first cruise last month, and both of our excursions were through independent companies, and they were both fantastic. The key is doing your research and finding safe, reputable companies that have legitimate reviews on places like Trip Advisor. We saved money by booking independently.

    Enjoy your cruise! :)
