  1. Another vote for a mini suite. We have sailed on several Princess ships but not the Ruby. We usually book a mini on the Emerald Deck as they have a covered balcony. On the ships we have been on, all mini suites on Dolphin Deck are uncovered. Our next cruise is on the Caribbean Princess and we have a mini suite on Dolphin. Any mini to us is better than a balcony cabin. Enjoy your cruise.:)

  2. My family, a party of 8, has made reservations for a cruise on Liberty Of The Seas for Aug. 13, 2017. We have selected the My Time Dining option. I read on this board that we can make dinner reservation in advance of boarding the ship. Does anyone know how far out from the sailing date that a reservation can be made for My Time Dining? Thanks in advance for your reply.

  3. I booked a cruise on Liberty of the Seas on Friday and now have some questions on the MyTime Dining option. My wife and I have been cruising almost exclusively on Princess Cruise Line for the past 10 years. We will be joining my son and his family along with his in-laws on a Western Caribbean cruise next August on Liberty of the Seas. When I made my booking, I selected the early traditional dining option. I discovered over the weekend that early is at 5:30 pm. That is going to be too early for my son and his family. My question is if we all switch to MyTime Dining, can we make a standing dinner reservation for 7 pm for 8 people in advance of the sailing date? And if so, how far in advance can the reservation be made? Thank you for you help.

  4. Thanks for your reply Cool Cruiser. We have stayed in a mini suite on Emerald deck about 8 times but have always been on the starboard side of the ship. Noise has never been a problem on that side of the ship. This will be the 1st time on the port side and was a little concerned since the stage in Club Fusion is on the port side also. We love the mini suites on Emerald deck.

  5. I will be joining my son and grand children at the end of the month on the Disney Dream. We have cruised many times but this will be our first cruise on a Disney ship. How does Disney handle internet access? I usually take my iPad and like to check email and the latest news while relaxing in my cabin.

  6. We were directed to the Platium waiting area. I was told I could go into the Elite lounge to get refreshments but would have to take them to the Platium waiting area. It wasn't that big a deal and probably would not have bothered me if I had not first encounter the rude employee. It will not stop me from enjoying the cruise. It would take a lot more for that to happen.

  7. This morning we boarded the Ruby Princess in San Pedro and was not very happy with the boarding process. After checking in we were directed to the waiting area. I ask a Princess representative where the Elite/Platium waiting area was. Her response was "I don't know, you should have asked at checkin". I was very surprised with her response. This is the first rude Princess representative I have ever encountered and this is our 12th Princess curise. After going through security, I saw a sign that had "Elite/Platium Lounge" on it. I started to go to that lounge but was stopped by another Princess representative and told I could not go there. I showed her my cruise card indicating I was a Platium member. She told me that the lounge was for Elite passengers only. I directed her to the sign and she again told me it was for Elite only. I told her I was staying in a full suite and asked it full suite passengers didn't get the same benifits as Elite. She said no and proceeded to change the sign for the lounge. Several months ago I sailed out of Ft. Lauderdale, again in a full suite. We were directed to the Elite/Platium Lounge. I guess either Princess changed their policy or San Perdo follows different rules. Shel said that almost the whole ship was Elite passengers. Well, we followed the Princess rules and will become Elite after this current cruise. Princess encourages people to get to the Elite lever. They should make what ever changes are necessary to accomadate the increase in Elite passengers. We are now on the ship. It is very nice. We had a nice relaxing lunch in one of the main dining rooms and am looking forward to a great cruise.

  8. Staying at the Crowne Plaza San Pedro for 1 night prior to a cruise on the Ruby Princess in September. Has anyone eaten at either Port O'Call or San Pedro Fish Market and Restaurant? Saw the S.P. Fish Market and Restaurant on TV a few nights ago and it looked real good. Both appear to be within walking distance of The Crowne Plaza, approximately 0.7 miles away.
