  1. About to book flights for Alaska land/sea cruise next May. Earliest arrival time in Fairbanks would be 12:30 am. First excursion from Princess Lodge is at 8:30 am the later the same morning. I'm considering flying in the previous day. This would give me a full day to adjust to Alaska time and rest before the 1st excursion. Does this many scence to anyone?
  2. I'm looking into booking a 7 day Princess cruise from Whittier to Vancouver, B.C. Return flights are at 11:30 am, 5 pm and 8 pm. I'm affraid the 11:30 am flight will be too early for me to get to the airport. The 5 pm and 8 pm flights both return home at the same time with longer layovers with the 5 pm flight. So I'm considering the 8 pm flight. What is there to do in Vancouver for all the wait time? Are there any hotels that offer "day rates"? Thanks for your response.

  3. Looking into booking a soutbound Alaka cruise on Princess for May 2016. Going to Hubbard Glacier and Glacier Bay for scenic cruising. Is a cabin on one side of the ship any better than the other for this type cruise? Most cabins currently booked appear to be on the Port sid of the ship. Thanks for your comments.

  4. Don, Denali has a Princess Lodge as does Mt. McKinley. Sorry I was not specific enough for you. I posted my question on the Princess board but it was moved to the Alaska board. To everyone else who understood my question, thank you for your input. You all were most helpful.

  5. I'm looking at booking a land/sea cruise to Alaska in May 2016. I have decided to do one of the 12 day Denali Explorer tours. My choices are flying into Fairbanks and sailing on the Island Princess after the land tour or flying into Anchorage and sailing on the Star Princess after the land tour. Any recommandations on these 2 choices would be greatly appreciated.

  6. I'm looking at booking an Alaska cruise for May 2016 and have a few questions. We are looking at doing the southern cruise from Whitter to Vancouver on the Coral Princess. We will be booking a mini suite. Do all the mini suites on the Coral have covered balconies? And on the Souther cruise is a cabin on the port or starboard side best or doesn't it matter?

  7. Well, I was escorted off the ship this morning at 7 am. Sitting in the airport waiting on a 12:45 pm flight. Princess gave me a letter last night for insurance purposes stating that I was restricted to the cabin. I called the travel insurance company a few minutes ago and was told that they would reimburse me for the days I was restricted to the cabin. This was good news especially after all the negative comments when I asked about compensation. It's not coming from Princess but it may be more than I expected.
