  1. I have already purchased our drink package through the cruise planner weeks ago and the money has already been taken off my credit card. I have just seen it is a lower price today, do I just cancel it through the cruise planner and then add it again at the lower price or do I call RCC and cancel it over the phone? And then how long does it take Royal to return the money to your CC. Thank you I have never cancelled a package before.

Same here, I don’t ever recall any porter asking for money or holding their hand out wanting a tip. And they have always thanked me politely.

Obviously we got the wrong porters, I had one lady porter when we were disembarking and she helped with my bag, I gave her $3 and she had the nerve to say "is that all" sorry but that did it for me. The $3 was all the cash I had left on me as I had been tipping during the cruise. If I could have ripped that $3 back off her I would have.  I consider myself as being a generous person but don't put your hand out before I have even hand a chance to reach into my bag for my wallet. Enough said on this topic.

Thanks for all your replies folks,  I'm thankful that the code of formal, semi-formal and smart casual has disappeared, but at the same time we do like to dress up on the formal nights, don't mind what anyone wears, but also don't want to stick out like a sore thumb in tux and long dress.

Be like me, dress up in your long dress and let hubby wear a Tux and don't give a damn what anyone else does or does not do. I love the chance to dress up and I don't give a rats behind what anyone else thinks. If you stick out like a sore thumb who cares. Do what makes you happy, life is too short to worry about what others think. ☺️

I just got a new scooter. Upgraded from a manual wheelchair. I have severe RA and Fibro. Can I take the scooter on the plane? Is it safe to check a scooter? Do I need to box it up? I am doing a 16 Hawaii cruise in 4 weeks. We start out at Vancouver and end up at LA. Can I still rent one if I have different embark and final port?

    Thanks for your help!!!

You always need to contact the special needs department of the airline you are flying with, this is especially important because of the battery you scooter takes. If you do not  get authorization from the airline first and if you have a Lithium battery over 300w they will not let you board or they can confiscate your battery. Best to contact them first.

I am going to buy a new scooter - a Smartscoot, Travelscoot or the Clion SnapnGo - and none of them has keys.  How do you keep your scooter safe if you must leave it when visiting stores or restaurants?  That subject is rarely discussed on this board.  Also would be interested in which scooter you have and why.

I purchased this lock set with cable to attach to my battery, I have the same set up on my computer tower at work and I cannot pull the square sticky pad off, it is super strong. I then thread the cable through that then the front wheel and if there is a post that I can attach it to I do. I am more worried about the battery being taken.

Can anyone recommend a decent Air B&B close to the Miami port? There are 14 of us going, so we would prefer not to do a bunch of expensive hotel rooms..

The Copper Door, beautiful fresh breakfast cooked in the morning, I think they have about 22 rooms.

I re-read what I wrote and realized how stupid it sounded.  I actually meant to ask if the tram route went all the way around the island.

I understood what you meant, I don't have the answer though as I have not been there since it was revamped. Some people just can't help being sarcastic.

I wonder what would happen if they had a "Wear Your Worst" night.  It would be funny to see them turn some folks away.  "We are sorry ma'am, but you don't look comfortable enough to eat here tonight."  "Excuse me sir, but baseball caps must be worn at all times in the MDR this evening."  "You can rent an ugly holiday sweater or pajama bottoms for a nominal fee."

Oh I think they should have an ugly sweater night, that would be hilarious! I must say though I am really looking forward to the Formal nights, it's the only time I get to really dress up and feel special 🙂

I will be there next month. I think they will improve the cleanup each and every day. I think we do need to be patient, it's only been a week and Dorian was a nasty hurricane. I saw some video from a FB Live feed from Saturday and it looked remarkably good. There was no mention of smell but the video was taken around the walk ways leading up to the pool.

Can you post a link to the video you watched please.

  10. We have and have always booked an accessible balcony cabin. A few times I have received an email saying there has been a 10% or whatever percent price drop. My question is if the website is showing that all outside balconies are full and because we have an accessible outside balcony cabin, would we still qualify for the price drop. I have booked online with RCCL and we have not made final payment.

Same here. For us the zip ties are to keep the zipper ends together to prevent accidental opening, not to lock the suitcase to prevent theft. We aren't under the delusion that a cheap padlock would deter thieves if they really wanted to look inside.

Yep us too, I just don't pack anythng of value in checked bags. As you said if they want something bad enough a lock, zip tie or anything else is not going to stop them.

Are zip ties acceptable to lock luggage, or is that not allowed?

Do passengers lock their luggage anymore?

We have used zip ties for the past 15 years never had a problem. Just remember to pack a pair of nail clippers in your handbag or carryon.
