Actually it around 3220$ INCLUDING NRD.

That is a very good price John, but I  really "need" a balcony for my own sanity.👀😳  I love to just stare at the ocean, I could do it all day.

Little Britain, that is a very interesting itinerary!

Well, you have to weigh price versus sanity. The PV's don't have the coffin effect of a normal interior. Especially when you're going solo. Lots of room and there's lots of other places to enjoy ocean viewing. But, I get the balcony thing. We're all different.

I managed to convince my SIL to cruise with me on my birthday  cruise on HAL in November.   Now I am planning an 8 night Southern Caribbean to ABC islands in early Feb, SOLO.

I have been to Aruba but have always wanted to see Bonaire and Curacao.

I kind of wanted to HAL again but they only had a ten day and I don't know if I should do my "first" solo for so long.

I read that the Indy is "family friendly" but I was looking at the Solarium pool and that decided it for me!  Looks fab!

I also like that it has four at sea days.  I want to commit, but the prices right now seem a bit high verandah 2950$?

Should I wait or commit now?  Prices up or down, that is the question?

My general guideline for a non-Oasis class ship Solo is $200 per day. That assumes an Promenade View "interior".  For example my next 9 day Southern cruise on Explorer is $160/day. I always go solo. It's the perfect cruise for me. Good luck.

I was hoping for the 4 hour excursion but for the date we are there, Woodwind have decided to do two 3 hour tours since we are the only ship in port from 9am to 5pm.  They are doing a 9:30 to 12:30 and then a 12:45 -15:45 that day to accommodate the time Adventure is in port.

To make life simple I should choose the 12:45 tour, but I am so fair and burn very easily.  The last time I did this tour in the morning I ended up with blisters because applying sunscreen every hour was not enough.

Thank-fully I have bought a surf rash guard shirt with spf 50 but I still think a morning trip will be better heat wise than the afternoon.

Woodwind also provides long sleeved rash guard shirts.

Thanks everyone for putting my mind at ease, I had forgotten how long it took to walk from the pier to the Woodwind offices.

Great to hear it was not as long as I thought.

The Woodwind website has a very clear map/directions on how to find their meeting pier from the cruise ship piers. Short, easy walk. Enjoy an amazing day with Ulf and the rest of the Woodwind crew!!!

We do snorkel.  I read that Bonaire does have incredible snorkeling. Is that enough too choose 1 cruise over the others?

I've snorkeled several times in the ABC's. The reefs there are amazing. Woodwind Bonaire has a wonderful boat/equipment and is well respected on CC. You have to book them thru their website, and their boarding dock is 5-10' from the ship.

I'm using Mi Dushi for my next Aruba visit. I've never used them before but they come highly recommended. I enjoyed the reef around Curacao but used a shore based excursion. I prefer a catamaran.

    Have a wonderful visit!!!

  6. Hello all,

I just made a comparison between a 11/29/2019 vs. 12/5/2020 cruise. Same ship (Explorer), same room PV, same itinerary: 9N. Price is $2,032 RD vs. $1,331 RD on 2019 cruise. That's a 53% increase !!! :classic_ohmy:

Is anyone else amazed at this???? I know pricing just came out and I'll give it a little time to check again, but that's ridiculous...

Why can't I add an upcoming clock to my signature page. I can upload it but is says it is too long, but it is from Cruise Critic site. What am I doing wrong???? I have even sent message to board administrators with no response. Advise please...THANKS!!!:classic_biggrin:

You can also add your sailed cruises by typing them in instead of a "sailed clock" entry.

I’m considering this one, but the boat doesn’t look like it has much shade. Plus it takes up to 25 people, so idk if it’ll be crowded. Was looking at Bonaire Tours and Vacations “Champagne Fun Snorkle” on a yacht, but cannot find many reviews.

Passing on Woodwind Bonaire would be a big mistake in judgement, IMHO. Best tour operator in the ABC's. I went last December and I remember lots of shade available, plus you can wear one of their rashguard shirts along with your sunglasses. They group by experience level and will keep the groups spread out.

  9. Regarding your payment type, you can use a cash payment type online, then at the check-in desk change to your charge card. Make sure they delete your original "cash" payment type. I changed this and ended up being called down to Guest Services several times to get it resolved. The Guest Services manager eventually told me about the error.

  10. I can add to the experiences that my safe wouldn't open on FOTS the morning of disembarkation. Two guys showed up and eventually opened my safe while I panicked.

I keep all of my meds in two weeks of pillboxes in the safe at all times. I trust no one that has access to my room on a cruise ship.

I post this with sincere honesty so I hope you take it as such.  First, thank you for the reminder that pain medications should ALWAYS be secured.  Right now, that is one of the most abused drugs in the US, second only to marijuana. It should be secured for many reasons....room attendants, room service persons, mini bar attendants, and especially grandchildren.

On to the alleged theft.  The truth is, you're making a general theft allegation after the fact and with no evidence to point specifically to any of the number of people who had access to your room.  It doesn't make your husband any less of a victim, but what exactly does RCI have at this point to take action on?  There's not much they can do and speaking to the CEO isn't going to create any more evidence.  All he can do is give you the same lip service as Customer Support.  Unfortunately, that's just the reality.

But once again, I do thank you for the reminder that pain meds should not be left loosely unattended.

There may be video of who went into the room, or key card history....
