  1. We did the Altun Ha ruins excersion in 2014 when we sailed on the Dawn. Kids at the time were 14 & 15, and my wife & I were both 40. We all loved it. It was definately one of the best excursions we've done.

One tip - there are lots of mosquitoes in Belize!! Bring bug spray with DEET !!!!

  2. I couldn't find the answer while searching , so hopefully someone can help.

I've booked a cruise through CAS using the Total Rewards discount (my wife & I are both diamond).

There are 3 of us in the room - myself, my wife and my sister-in-law.

My wife & I have the bev package from NCL as one of the promos. SIL doesn't since she's guest #3.

Now the question - does every adult in the stateroom get a drink card, or is it just the primary guest (me) who booked it via CAS ?

    Thanks!

  3. We were on the Epic's poker cruise in Dec 2016. The maitre d on the Epic told my wife that they can't really enforce a dess code, only suggest that someone change. This came up when one of the poker folks showed up daily wearing some pretty graphic F*CK YOU (etc) t-shirts. The maitre d said she asked the guy to change, and he said he didn't want to, and they seated him.

That being said - I've never been turned away wearing shorts and a "normal" t-shirt on the Getaway or Epic. :D

  4. We don't plan to book restaurants until we are on the ship. We are in the Haven and have a huge amount of OBC to spend. Do you think it will be a problem booking restaurants for our entire cruise the day we board?

We were in the Haven on the 12/10 sailing. The concierge can get you reservations to the specialty restaurants and reservations to shows like Cirque... no problem. To be honest, though - the Haven restaurant is excellent. We only used one UDP dinner, and we decided not to bother with the other specialty restaurants because the Haven was so good - and you can just walk in anytime. Enjoy!!

  5. This was not the case in December. Is this new?

We were on the Epic on the Dec 10th sailing, and we got charged tax at GSC. It was on our final bill at the end of the cruise. We also got charged tax while at Port Canaveral prior to sailing.

  6. We were on the 12/10/16 sailing of the Epic out of Port Canaveral.

My wife & I met another family in the Haven and we told the husband we'd meet him in the casino about 10pm to play some blackjack. My wife & I got there early (9ish) to nab some seats at the low-rollers table :D, and we started to hear the fire alarm (along with the flashing lights) go off at the Noodle Bar. All of a sudden, the fire doors in the casino started to close. Security was dispatched and they kept opening the fire doors back up. The entire time, the fire alarm and flashing lights are still going off. Most people didn't seem concerned and stayed in the casino ignoring everything while security kept opening the doors back up. I didn't smell any smoke, but I told my wife that if there was really a fire, I didn't want to be stuck between 2 sets of fire doors, so we bailed and went back to our cabin. The next day , the guy we were supposed to meet said he got there around 10pm and told us that nothing unusual was going on.

We never did find out what the deal was.

  7. Ok, so I am traveling with my 15 year old daughter from NY to Bermuda. I know she can do a passport or birth certificate. To get a passport her dad has to be there in order to get one. If I decide to opt with the birth certificate does he need to provide any documentation saying that she can cruise (notarized note or something?)

    Thanks!

    Jen

When my kids got their passports, there was a form (DS-3053) which you had to get signed & notarized by the non-present parent and bring to the passport office. The other parent didn't have to be present if you had that form.

My wife & I are together, but it worked out better for our schedules that I took our son one day, and she took our daughter another day. We each had a form signed by the other and notarized, and we had no problems.

  8. If the OP wants the Haven rooms no one is telling him he can't have them. But he wants the rooms on his terms, at the prices he wants, and he wants the folks at NCL to break the rules for him. Once again, NCL is not a Mom and Pop business. He shouldn't expect the same treatment he'd give to his customers with beauty pageant contestants. This is the definition of entitlement.

Not really... this falls under the "you never know until you ask" category , especially coming from a high value customer.

We run my business the same way as the OP's. We bend over backwards to make sure everyone is taken care of, but we'll bend a bit farther if necessary for the big fish. :D

    Good luck OP!

  9. Yes, you are given priority when leaving the ship.

There have been cases where Haven guests are given priority when returning to the ship. It usually isn't needed as getting back isn't the mad rush that leaving the ship is.

Some Haven guests have been pulled from the line by NCL staff and have been moved to the front of the line. It seems to vary, though.

In 2015 I was in the Haven on the Getaway. There was a HUGE line in the Cayman Islands to grab a tender back to the ship. We saw a staff member with a "The Haven" sign walking around , showed him our keycards, and we were escorted to the front of the tender line. That probably saved us an hour right there.

We didn't get any special tender access back to the ship from GSC last year on the Epic, though - but the line wasn't bad at all.

  10. We ate dinner in the Epic Club for 5 of our 7 nights.

The guy who heads up the Cruisenext dept on the Epic (forgot his name) wanted feedback. I told him to let NCL know that getting the UDP while you're in the Haven is worthless to many , because the Epic Club is so good.

I heard that from so many others in the Haven. All of us felt like we "wasted" the UDP, because we ate in the Epic club instead. I suggested they make UDP an option, and maybe offering gratuities or UBP for guest 3&4, or OBC instead.

  11. Do you remember who was the bartender in the Haven during the day? The bar that's in the area next to the pool area, enclosed with louvered windows?

    And who was concierge?

    Thanks!

I was on there 12/10 - 12/17 , and Apollo (sp?) from Greece was the bartender next to the pool. He was awesome. I think he said it was his 1st week.

Diego was the bartender in the lounge.
