My niece has just called me her husband came home from work on Tuesday feeling ill, he had a covid test on Wednesday and had the result this morning telling him he is positive.  They now all have to isolate and she has got to speak to her consultant about what to do about her next chemo session which is 2 weeks today. Just when you think things can't get worse they do ☹️☹️

Sorry to hear this news.  Hope he gets well soon and that it doesn't affect your niece's treatment.

My wife was selected for an antigen test about 6 weeks ago, quite simple to follow when the kit comes through, no swabs as this is a blood testing process.

Had some good news today, my brother’s step daughters who live in the South of England both had positive tests about 2.5 weeks ago, the youngest in her mid 30s was quite ill as she has asthma, had one blue light trip to hospital, but was not kept in as not deemed serious. She is now recovered thankfully, her sister only showed very mild symptoms so was able to keep going although had to isolate for 14 days.

Good to hear that they are on the mend.

Alll booked, but TA has had to send an email to his contact to get some of the FCC used for the rest of the deposit, as I only had £50pp to use.  He reported to his contact that he had different answers and that I had 3 different answers.  The contact said that the rule is you cannot use an FCC for a deposit, but in these Covid times, they are relaxing it if asked!!    We agreed that it shouldn't be like that.  Although we understand P&O are a bit strapped for cash, which is why they are only doing it if specifically asked.  I guess a lot of people wouldn't even query it.

      I received this, this morning!!

    Thank you Josy.

I have had the test now and back home.

The testing site was 2 minutes drive from home.

It was quite busy but exceptionally well organised and I was out within 10 minutes.

15 seconds swab around the back of my throat caused me to gag a little.

Same swab 15 seconds up the nose was not to bad but slightly painful.

Just have to wait for the results now which they said would be within 72 hours.

Surprised the test wasn't as bad as I feared.

    Graham.

Glad to hear it went well and was over and done with quickly. Now back home for a cuppa.

Have taken my daughter up several times for tests, but our round trip is nearer an hour!

My daughter has a test being delivered today as she is shielding. She's also been feeling ill for about a week now. Her breathing isn't too good either and her inhaler doesn't help. I'm sure both tests will be negative🤞 Keep us informed Graham and I hope Pauline is alright.

    Avril

Hope you your daughter feels better soon and that the test comes back negative.

Equally I know somebody that works for a company in Kent who import fruit/vegetables from Spain and package for supermarkets. They do all the major supermarkets including M&S, Aldi and Lidl and there is no grading of fruit/vegetables just sizing and they are all the same just packaged differently for the individual supermarkets and individually priced. So in effect some fruit/vegetables are no different whether from M&S or Aldi just the price and come from same wholesalers in Spain.

Living down here in Cornwall we have a number of farms that grow and package vegetables for the major supermarkets, Morrisons, Tesco, Asda, etc. Woe betide, if you happen to get behind one of the articulated lorries in the lanes, going to or from the farms!

rest of the population (priority to be determined)2
The prioritisation could change substantially if the first available vaccines were not considered suitable for, or effective in, older adults.

My husband is in the third group  and I'm in the eighth, wonder how much longer I than him I will have to wait.

The fairest way would be to cancel the bookings of those who booked last,

But who can prove who booked what when!!

Sounds like they are putting passengers anywhere if you are in the 'storeroom'... 😊

Don't you just love predictive text....

    Andy

Predictive text is often good for a laugh.

On one occasion I sent a text to my daughter to say I had given my grandaughter some Calpol and it was changed to scalpel🙄l

Last remembrance Sunday we were attending a beautiful service with Captain Gray and his Crew on Oceana.

We have never missed a local service.

Today we are watching the cenotaph on the telly...

How times have changed so quickly.

    Andy

This time last year we were on Britannia and attended their Rememberance Sunday service.
