  1. Im on her right now, i did notice long lines at buffet and drink stations, and not just on the first day. Fewer stations open.  No free room service even breakfast( but i dont use )   purel stations are fewer and some do not work. (Bring your own in case)  they are letting ppl fill up big travel mugs at stations directly so this adds to wait time and minus for sanitary.  Quality of food at breakfast and lunch seems down. No icecream and fewer sections of varity.

Other than that not much I noticed.  My time dinning has been great both food and service.

And what's wrong with doing it "the old way"?  I'm an old people, and I intend on doing it the old way. That's my comfort zone. :classic_wink:

Its fine , me too ,just wasted my time doing this app is all.  Although she pulled up wrong ship in her computer and scared me at check.

    This worked for me.

    1.  Delete the app.

    2. Download the app.

    3. Click yes that you want to recover your account.

    4.  Take your picture, resubmit your vaccine proof.

    5. You will then see the testing requirement is gone.

I did this today and now we have our pass.

    Good Luck!

Thank you. It worked but at galveston port at least was useless lol they had old ppl do it all the old way.  Lol

Normally you’d think it would but, the $600/$300 OBC that was given for Covid rebooking stayed in each guest’s name. Most of that has probably been used by now but there may still be some out there.

yeah i see, im the one getting the obc because of the casino booking.  so i was hoping if my guest no shows then they would put it all on my account.  thank you

We recently had to do a no show as well and when the new points were added to our account, the single did not receive extra points. I called C&A and was told that if someone becomes a single in a room after the 100% penalty phase, they do not give double points for the single. I asked about appealing it, and was told there was no appeal. Hopefully your situation will be different, but that's what we were told.

Did they refund you taxes and port fees for the no show person?

Are you fully vaccinated and your itineraries no longer require testing as of September 6? If you're not required to have a test for the first leg there's no reason to test you for the second leg, unless it goes to a destination that still requires testing.

Yes fully vaxxed and booster taken a few months ago.  Thank you

Taxes and port fees are refunded and you have the room to yourself.  No refund of the cabin mate’s fare.

But they wont block the main person booking from checking in correct?

Our health officials (CDC) say that folks may test positive for up to 90 days without being contagious.  They say they do not recommend taking a test within 90 days of testing positive.  This has been in place for a long time and is the basis for the Document of Recovery.  Most countries have a similar approach.   It was widely accepted for air travel before the testing requirement was lifted.

Thats all correct. But im saying you can still catch it again during that peroid.  One is not now totally immune to it.

Was just reading nybumpkin’s Magic review and she says this:

Had Guy’s twice – while the burger was good, I was disappointed that they cut back the available toppings. My “go to” burger use to be a Plain Jane with cheese, topped with bacon and mushrooms and one of Guy’s sauces. The sauces are there, but the bacon and mushrooms were no more.

    OMG!!!!!!
Did I somehow miss this being another cut back?????

If this is true, I think we just hit the ‘what would it take to be over Carniva’l thread event.
THAT’S too much. Dang, I hope this is a one off for some reason. With all the other bs changes they’re making……poo…I’m so disappointed….Crud….2 newbies on next up cruise. I’m about to be embarrassed to bring them.

Yes, I know they were shut down, blah blah blah. But good heavens….

Nice review. Very enjoyable read. But, this is baaaaad news 😞

I have known several people in this situation where they had a positive test, then test negative and then test positive again. I heard several health officials say there is no need to retest after the first positive test for three months since a positive test can appear again. They say it does not mean you are contagious again. So based on Carnival's policy you can sail with a document of recovery as long as you have no symptoms. Good luck and have fun.

Here is a scary thought, what if a pax had covid a month before recovered and then tests positive again right before the cruise but in fact does have covid again and the ship lets them on with recovery paperwork?  this can get hairy and would be concerning to older pax on board,

If your husband requested time off and it was not approved then send the bill to his job with an itimized statement of damages including this No Show and ask his work for a 100 percent Future Cruise with Air  for both of you.

Having looked up the date I received the email I think I might know what happened.

We were cruising three people, myself as passenger #1, my husband as passenger #2 and our child as #3.  Passengers 1 and 2 were to receive OBC of $100 per person and when I realized they were not giving my husbands OBC I went to guest services to inquire.  I figured Carnival would automatically treat our daughter as passenger #2 and since passenger #3 is sailing at a deeply discounted rate I wasn't going to put in a claim with my Carnival insurance (Cancel any reason for 25%).  Guest Services rep said no, husband stays as #2 passenger (No OBC) and daughter stays as #3.  I asked if I were to use my Carnival insurance would it go towards my husband as #2 passenger and therefore refund his cruise fare (significantly higher than #3) at 75%? She said yes and now I'm thinking she went ahead and cancelled my husband and got the "refund" started but all I received was the notification of the penalty amount. Whew, sorry, that was long!!  Now I just need to call Carnival and see if my thought process is correct.  Thank you for the questions, it made me think a little harder! 😆

you received an email, but did they actually charge your card you used org purchase with for it ? thanks , i think this is what a few ppl wanted to know

It was a tongue-in-cheek comment and I realize that does not come across in text. My point was "cash flow positive" is irrelevant. "Profitable" is a relevant term but has largely alluded the cruise industry for nearly three years now.

Well i own a business so i understand that a pandemic will effect this and hit the cruise industry hard, im not understanding your argument,  they are increasing cruises not decreasing them, they will likely soon turn a profit, cash intake is going up, it takes time.
