  1. I hadn't thought about that... can you also go and sit there out of opening hours? To read or play a game or...?
  2. Well that's kind of dissapointing... and weird (to me that is) for such a large ship. I suppose I'll be spending more time in my balcony cabin then when the weather turns bad and enjoy my own personal oceanview, nothing wrong with that 😁
  3. Yes I know about the Solarium but thought that it is not completely enclosed? I suppose that even in chilly weather some parts of it will be warm enough to sit in and will certainly try that. But was also wondering if there are some actual inside places with a seaview?
  4. We will be on the Atlantic crossing from Miami on Symphony March 9. I know that weather on a TA is unpredictable especially when we get further out. I would like to be outside as much as possible but when it gets too cool or windy I'll be inside. Which venues that have windows with an oceanview could I use to read a book, have a drink or just enjoy the ocenaview? TIA
  5. As promised I am reporting back about checking in and picking an arrival time without having your passport at hand. 5 hours ago as soon as our check - in was available, I opened the app and was able to pick our arrival time without having to fill out any other information. When I open the app now and click on check -in I can see that our arrival time is confirmed and I still have to fill out the other info that is needed to complete our check - in. So it worked!
  6. Thanks again to everyone for your help on this topic. About the birth certificate, don't think that would work since I am Belgian... But I will definitely report back here on monday after check-in.
  7. I will report back on Monday when I've tried the check-in.
  8. Thanks so much everyone, i'll try it on the app on Sunday!
  9. That's what I read too but then someone else said you need to scan your passport code first to be able to pick the time...
  10. Hi everyone, I did a search but couldn't find the answer to my question. We are sailing on SOS on the Transatlantic from Miami to Barcelona, March 9 (this year).😎 Online check-in will start in 2 days and I had planned to do so at midnight when it opens up to get an early arrival time. I've read here that you can just pick your arrival time and complete the rest of the check-in later. Now my question is do you need your passport information to do this or can you fill that in later as well? Our passports will arrive sometime next week but would prefer to pick our arrival time as soon as check-in opens and the complete it later. I hope someone can help me with this. TIA
  11. Thanks! I will certainly look into that. Other suggestions still welcome!
  12. Hi everyone, I am planning a cruise on the Symphony. We have cruised before (Royal and other lines) and we always try to book a balcony cabin that does not have the door close to the neighbour's door. I know that the doors are often paired and the distance between both doors is only an inch or so. To me, being a light sleeper and really good hearing the opening and closing of the neighbour"s door is really disturbing. Can anyone tell me if all the balcony cabins on the ship are paired in twos? Or are there decks, locations where the doors are further apart? Thanks for your help!
  13. Really appreciate all your information! In other threads I read that people experienced some shortage of certain alcohol brands/drinks. Any thoughts on this? Hope you are still having a great time on board!
  14. Thx that's what I thought! No worries about the Thermal suite price, if you think about it, great! If not, well it's your vacation right? 😁 How are the ports so far? Are there shuttle buses when the town is not walkable? And how about the weather? Thanks for taking time to do this and enjoy your cruise!
  15. I just won a bidfor a 2.bedroom suite on the Dawn sailing on the 28th. The last 2 weeks the minimum bid amount went down from 1100 pp to 800 pp. Good luck and happy cruising!
  16. We were on the Star in May, on day 4 our free minutes were used up and we asked to be upgradesd to the unlimited package from that day on (10 day cruise) We.could get the package but had to pay the full amount as if it were the first day of the cruise. There was no way around that unfortunately. Have a great cruise, transatlantics are awesome!
  17. We are also boarding on the 28th in Stockholm! Can you tell if main restaurants are open for lunch or just the buffet? I was on the Star in May with only 1000 passengers and no lunch in the main dining rooms. I too would love to know how many guests are on board. Also if you can find out what the price for a Thermal suite pass is for the entire cruise ? And how was embarkation in Stockholm? Was it an easy process? Thx for offering to answer our questions. Enjoy your cruise!
  18. Just got upgraded from an aft balcony cabin to the deluxe 2 bedroom suite!! We leave on the Dawn (Baltic) exactly a week from today, so bid was confirmed 7 days before sailing. Our bid was 1000 USD pp, which was in the high "fair" range. A very good cabin location on deck 11. Just yesterday checked the price of this cabin to see if buying an upgrade would be same price or cheaper than my bid but was 2850 USD pp! Did not receive an e-mail (yet) Found out this morning because of the charge on my credit card. Then checked my reservation and the new cabin number was on it! Sooo excited! Really appreciate all the knowledge about upgrades on this thread, was very informative and helpful.
  19. I was on the Dawn in the Med, in May. We had 1100 pax (full capacity +/- 2400). My son was on the Escape June 30th - July10 (also in the Med) with approx 3000 pax (full capacity +/- 4200) Hope this helps. Happy cruising!
  20. Yes I was also thinking they could be referring to the Helsinki overnight but I don't understand why that should be mentioned when talking about check in and boarding time?
  21. Hi everyone, just downloaded our edocs for upcoming Baltic cruise on the Dawn, July 28th sailing from Stockholm to Copenhagen. The docs say : •Boarding begins at: 12:00 PM (Overnight) Please do not arrive earlier than 1 hour to boarding time shown So I understand that boarding starts at noon (right?) but am totally puzzled about the "overnight" part. Anyone here who knows what that means? Thanks!
