Thank You! Underway about a half hour ago. Steady as she goes, still in the channel and it's a nice day.

Currently on the Joy, Captain on about fifteen minutes ago. We are going to depart at 1130 hours local time and are due for 0700 arrival in Manhattan on Tuesday, September 5th.

I did not report it, it came from Celebrity, they have to know about it. It was a printed official document. For all I know it could have been older (obsolete) paperwork or something that was being considered and it just happened to get mixed in with her paperwork to leave in the stateroom. We were in an OV and our friend was in a balcony and didn't receive it. I think it probably wasn't supposed to be there and was probably delivered by mistake. Maybe it's prepared for people that ask for suggested guidelines. Looks like an isolated incident from feedback on here, I really wish I till a photo or kept it.

No, we would never do that. I have seen before, just a very long time ago. It was a form letter, but a small note, like you would get invited to a sailaway on the helipad sort of thing. I am sure I wasn't the only cabin. I have been fortunate enough to only have one negative cruise in my life, and even then we took care of everyone with some cash and left the auto grats on.

Nope. We are always generous as well. I have seen suggested gratuities published before but not in a very long time.

I wish that I took a photo of the note accompanying the envelopes that were left in our Cabin as we neared the end of our Connie cruise a few weeks ago. The note listed the suggested additional cash gratuities for the Cabin Steward, waiter and I believe the beverage steward. It went a little beyond just the envelopes, it kind of felt like they were implying or requesting that you do this.

You are definitely in for a surprise!

On Connie two weeks ago, I really enjoyed the burger from Mast Grill but I wasn't crazy about the Mast burger on Beyond a few years ago. I've done most of my cruising with RCI, I like that they have some variety of food available poolside but definitely prefer the refinement of Celebrity more and more. Never tried Carnival and not really sure at this point in life that I want to, but from videos and reviews it seems like they have great burgers and Virgin "looks" really good and I would be open to giving them a whirl. Food is always going to be subjective I guess at the end of the day.
