    Hi Again Goldconnection,

I just checked with NCL about the transfer price.  She told me it's $37.50US or about $47.00Can. which is great.  I will be using the transfer so I'll take the hotel shuttle back to the airport as well.

Glad that I read your message.  Have a great day.

    Hi Goldconnection,

My cruise is not until September 2022.  I too plan to fly in a day early.  I've already booked at the Comfort Inn Laguardia Airport hotel and was planning on using Dial777 for transport to the ship.  What hotel are you planning to stay at and what was the price of the transfer.  I don't seem to find it on NCL website.

    Thanks,  happytotravel

We are booked at the Hampton Inn-LaGuardia Airport. The transfers were $37.50pp. We are arriving a day early and the hotel will pick us up at the airport. On cruise day we will take the hotel’s van back to the airport to board the NCL bus/van. I actually called my NCL CC and he added it to our trip. I looked into Uber and Lyft but we opted for NCL. Figured if there were any issues getting to the port we will be covered with NCL. Hope this helps.

Up until now, NCL has "required" a 96 hour test if you wanted assistance should you fail your embarkation test. NCL has recently withdrawn the offer of assistance, and therefore the requirement for a 96 hour test.

Everyone needs to read, re-read, and re-read again the information sent regarding the requirements for your specific cruise. Some destinations requires testing. Some destinations require that you register with foreign country health departments.

Me? I try to isolate in the 2 weeks leading up to a cruise (we have been on 3). And we don't go out of our way to go to a testing center to hang out with people who are there for a reason (i.e., COVID symptoms or close contact with COVID-positive people),,, unless it is required as condition of travel.

All I wanted to do was share information. I really don’t need to be told to do the obvious…READ. What you do is not important to me but thanks for sharing. Also, I don’t know anyone (including myself) who hang out in testing centers. Do you?

Just wanted to share. I went out on NCL’s website and now it reads Covid-19 PCR test within 96-hours prior to sail day.

Do I need to take a COVID-19 test prior to arrival at the terminal?

We strongly encourage all guests to take a COVID-19 PCR test within 96-hours prior to their sail date as an added precaution. If a PCR test is not readily available, then we encourage guests to at a minimum take a COVID-19 antigen test, prior to travel. Please note that many countries are now requiring this, and requirements vary based on guest nationality, so we strongly urge you to check the official website of the country you are flying to, connecting through, or sailing to before travelling in order to comply with their requirements.

  5. We opted for NCL transfer for our December cruise. Here is what our CC shared with us: Need to be at airport by 9:30 am to board bus @ 10 am over to cruise terminal. Meet NCL rep at Delta terminal area baggage claim.
Note: We are flying in a day early. Enjoy your cruise.

  6. Tipping is based on the individual service one receives. On one cruise we had the worst cabin steward. The worst we have ever had in all our years of cruising. His attitude was just horrible. He never introduced himself. Never greeted us. He always had a frown on his face. Reported that soft drinks and other items were removed from the refrigerator and they we were charged for them at the end of the cruise and hell no we did not pay. My husband is a very generous tipper but that was one time I put my foot down and said no way. This is opinion. Please respect it.

  7. I don’t understand the mentality of the so call chair hog and those that bake themselves in the sun. I personally don’t sunbathe. Blessed to have a beautiful natural even tan. 😉 This is my personal opinion, please respect it.

  8. Since we booked out b2b2b prices have dropped three time on all three for a total savings of $2357. I called a friend about this last drop and they were able to save $2297 and keep the air even though it was no long offered. Hopefully there is one more drop before final payment. If there is a price drop after final payment I will ask for on board credit.

  9. No way would we spend that kind of money on any kind of drink package. Then again my DH does not drink at all and I have a glass of wine or a daiquiri a a few times a year. On New Year Eve we have sparkling grape juice. We are not coffee drinkers and have sodas every blue moon. Water is our go to drink.

Have not cruised with Norwegian, do they include making beds and cleaning rooms or do you have to pay a daily fee please?  We have cruised with Princess, Celebrity, P&O, Royal Caribbean and they all include room cleaning.

Please share the name(s) of a cruise line that charges extra for cleaning cabins. Better yet what cruise line have you paid extra to clean your cabin.

Our flight times were perfect and we love the thought that someone will be waiting for us at the airport to drive us straight to the cruise port.

We booked our own flights and pay for and use NCL transfer from the airport to the cruise port.

I'd never let my air travels be booked and handled by NCL even if it saved me some money. The stress, time lost, and anxiety they'd put me through wouldn't be worth the money I would save on a ticket. No way .....

I have to agree. I book our flights. Would never allow any cruise line to book a flight for me without allowing me to have input. Not worth it.

  13. We have cruised with a few cruise lines (NCL, RCC, Celebrity, Carnival, and Princess) and in my opinion the food on all of them is nothing to write home about. What is tasty to one person is not necessarily tasty to another. It is all banquet quality food even in the specialty restaurants. Like all banquet food it is a little hit and a lot of miss in my opinion. Please respect my opinion and my taste buds.

  14. Hubby and I are blessed. Our medical insurance covers us oversea. It is a benefit added in 2019 at no extra cost. We have a list of doctors (what they specialize in) hospitals and clinics where ever we travel that we can down load. Pharmacy benefits are also included. What a peace of mind.

We are supposed to sail from SJ in Dec., 2021.  I have my doubts if cruises will have resumed by then, but all we can do is wait and see.  I agree, many of our previous favorites may have closed.  😞

We too are have doubt if we will sail out of San Juan In December.

  16. We have never had a problem booking the NCL transfer to the cruise port and we alway come in at least a day early. Our NCL-CC gives us the time and location we should meet the NCL rep in the airport as soon as we book. We just did it for our cruise out of NY and yes it is a lot cheaper. He has never did a mock flight booking.
