  1. I know right! The big failing of CC is that you have a limited time to edit.
  2. For anything in Syd Norman’s people start living up outside up to 2 hours prior. You can go out on deck 8 and see in through the windows. They also pipe music outside. Comedy is the same but later in the week it doesn’t seem as busy. We came in 30 minutes prior and got decent seats. Theater had the best selection 30-45 minutes prior to the show. Our sailing had limited entertainment so crowds might have been heavier. Except Syd Norman’s, that’s always crazy.
  3. Yes. Wheel of fortune has replaced one showing of Six. They also added a 80s Broadway Cabaret in the Spiegel tent. Burn the floor, Syd Norman’s, and comedians were onboard. On our behind the scenes tour they said another show was coming but they had zero information on what it is. You can see all the dailies in my love report here. https://boards.cruisecritic.com/topic/2987488-taking-a-getaway-on-the-breakaway-almost-live-maybe/
  4. I haven’t seen a check in time enforced at all with NCL If you really wanted to play it safe you could all check in with whoever had the latest time but it’s probably not an issue.
  5. This has probably been beat to death. There’s 2 options. Stealing is wrong or I’m entitled to do what I want because the rules may or may not be enforced.
  6. Never been to a buffet that lets you take leftovers home so that’s an invalid argument. Your morals are clearly different than mine. Accept that we have differences.
  7. A bottle of wine. Yes. A glass of wine using the drink package. No. The drink package is for an individual, not a group. Do you pay for 1 all you can eat buffet and bring your friends for free since you paid? Exact same thing. You’re going to do what you want. If you get caught accept the consequences.
  8. Why would that matter. It’s wine you brought onboard. You can do with it what you like.
  9. Your moral compass is different than mine. You do you. A better way to look at it is you pay for a buffet and bring a friend to share with. You paid for the food so why not give it to them??
  10. You might get away with theft. But there have been reports of people getting caught sharing drinks and having to pay for ALL of their drinks. Good luck.
  11. Better analogy would be are you ok stealing a candy bar once a week because you buy them the rest of the time? They’re stealing from NCL. I guess it just depends on where your moral compass points. To me it’s not a big deal to drop 10 bucks once in a while on a drink. While they will probably get away with it. There’s always a chance that ncl will catch them. Worst case their drink package gets terminated and they are charged for all their drinks. Another thing to ponder, NCL does read these posts and the OP has revealed a bit of information that might make them easy to track down onboard. I’m not going to judge. I have my morals that guide me through life others have their own. Either way may have consequences depending on the saturation.
  12. I haven’t had it happen. I have had shareholder obc and travel agent obc on the same cruise.
  13. Shareholders don’t get a discount but you do get OBC. https://www.nclhltd.com/investors/shareholder-benefits
  14. We were just there last week. Yes you pay for food and drink but it’s a nice and well kept island. We stayed in a villa but I attached the menu from the bar that is next door. Selections will vary by restaurant.
  15. I ask for an egg crate topper for the bed. It makes it softer and does help with the bed ventilation.
  16. I would pose this question under the specific ports you’re going to. You’ll get a lot more responses. https://boards.cruisecritic.com/forum/456-caribbean/
  17. We've done MSC twice. For the price it's an amazing value. Our first one we did an normal inside room. We disliked the seating with others fixed dining setup, and thought the food was just ok. It was a little harder to order or change things when you're seated in a group. The entertainment was just lame, but the ship was amazing. Second time was at the tail end of Covid and we had the Yacht Club. Entertainment was a little better....the ship was a ghost town, we had 45 people in the YC. Food was amazing (they change the menu daily for lunch/dinner). This next time we're doing a YC interior since it was only 3k to get that experience. It's an incredible value. We've also looked at MSC for Europe, but we know that will be a very different experience.
  18. Some parting thoughts about the cruise. Room: We were in 8401 which is about as far forward as you can get. Pros: Same level as a lot of the bars/food choices, easy to jump to 6,7,8. Also same level as promenade so easy to get out on deck and relax in the AM. Very low traffic area since there's only a few rooms on the bow after our room. Cons: Small because it's an inside. Wife didn't like that there were no real shelves for her "stuff" at the desk area. She normally gets ready there but had to do it in the bathroom. I know there's some storage on the side but it didn't work for her. Lots of noise when docking. I expected some thruster noise/vibration but it sounds like there's a motor for the ropes right below the room. One day it sounded like it broke because it was clanking and making crashing noises. Daily housekeeping doesn't work well for us. I wish they'd give you a time range, or even better give you an AM or PM cleaning option. Our room was "usually" done after 4PM, but a cpl times it was done earlier in the afternoon. We normally avoided mid-day naps because we were worried we'd miss the cleaning time. Our housekeeping did a good job, but he was incredibly busy with all the rooms he had. Food: Overall very good, I think I covered all the meals previously. MDR and specialties were all really good. Moderno was the only real disappointment, but it still had good parts. Service: Overall staff was great, the majority of the staff we interacted with were cheerful and extremely helpful. There were a cpl that weren't over the top pleasant, but we had no negative experiences. Big shout out to the guys working the Prime Meridian bar, we spent time there every night because it was the only bar you could typically get a seat in. They were friendly and did a fantastic job keeping up with all the drink orders. Entertainment: Huge letdown this trip. Wheel of Fortune is not a replacement for Six. There was one night that the theater wasn't even used. Syd Normans band sounded fantastic (we stood out on deck a cpl times to listen, they pipe the music out there), but you would have to stand in line for an hour plus to get a seat inside. I'm not sure why they couldn't put them in the theater a time or two like the Beatles do on other ships. Comedians were both very good, they did a few days in the theater which was great. Burn the Floor only played the last two nights and we skipped that, but I'm sure it was good. They had the usual stuff during the day like trivia and dance lessons, so those are options for people that enjoy those things. As I type this out, I think the big problem is they were putting entertainment in the small venues which fill up quickly instead of using the theater. Deal or No Deal is entertaining to watch on a sea day, but not in a crowded atrium, why not use the empty theater? Overall we really enjoyed the cruise though, we had great activities at the ports which is really what the trip was about. We'll probably do an inside again with the right itinerary, but I still like my balconies. Thanks for following along on this trip. Our next cruise in on MSC in the Yacht Club in November. Ironically it's in an inside room, but in the YC complex so the outdoors and bar are just steps away. I'll probably do a live feed of that one also.
  19. The filet was very good. Also the pork tenderloin. My personal favorites are Le Bistro (wife prefers Cagney's), then Cagney's, Los Lobos, and then La Cucina.
  20. No, we checked our luggage. We had a carryon suitcase that we took with us and set to the side. Other people did bring their full luggage and stuck in the corners around the outside of the dining room. They want you out of the room as soon as possible so they can clean, so you can't leave luggage in it.
  21. No, you can't go in until around 30 minutes before the show, so people just stood out in the hallway..
  22. This morning we did our final pack up and had a nice leisurely breakfast. Taste was not busy at all. I tried over easy eggs, pancakes, and some amazing crispy bacon. Also had my final fruit plate of the week. We hung around in the atrium until 9:30 and pretty much walked off with no delays. Snagged a cab ($36) and headed to the airport. Just a note. At less for Delta you can’t check luggage until 4 hours before your flight. I’ll post my final thoughts and notes tomorrow sometime. Overall it was a very nice cruise.
  23. Last night was dinner at Moderno. I don’t have much for photos except my salad bar plate, but it’s all meat. The Top Sirloin was so tough we couldn’t chew it. The rest was just ok. Not overly memorable. The table next to us was having a hug meltdown because he was promised a dairy free crème brûlée. The host at Moderno spent a bunch of time on the phone, but even if they could whip one up I would guess it takes a cpl hours. Maybe less if they have a blast chiller. He was very agitated and dropping the f-bomb. He did t get what he wanted. The line to Syds was long 2 hours prior to showtime so we hung out at the Prime Meridian bar again and called it a night. We did see a Carnival ship buzz by us on the way up the river.
  24. There are apparently more than 2 lunch menus as todays was unique. I had the Pho, Sliders, BLT, and the banana cream pie. All were really good.
  25. Breakfast this morning was Huevos Ranchos. It was really good but I think they used leftover chili from O’Sheehans. I also asked for a side of crispy bacon and they delivered.
