I did it this summer on the Ovation test cruise. It was ok. You get close up views of the fjords, which are nice. The boat is a good size and stable. The food was sub par but my expectations were low.

I did the PC full transit a few weeks ago and was able to wifi call with the upgraded package.

I'm Pinnacle on RC and while I love their newer ships, Millie is one of my favorites. I spent 15 nights on her sailing through the canal recently. I agree with the previous comments about food and entertainment, but the ship is a great size, in amazing shape after the 2019 revitalization, and has a great connection to the sea. I love the outdoor seating in the Oceanview Cafe (Windjammer), and all of the live music around the ship

Thanks for doing this. Im sailing Apex on an Edge Villa for Christmas, so I'll be interested in your comments.

Is the Lido open for dinner on Nieuw Amsterdam?
-
Captain just announced a passenger on the current sailing tested positive for Covid. Not sure if / how that will affect your sailing.

I’m on Millie right now and basically live at the outdoor OV cafe and Sunset Bar. It looks like Apex has a similar setup? Sailing her for Christmas.

Sailing Apex soon in an S1 Sky Suite. Looking for those who have firsthand knowledge about the following:
- Does the bed split in 2?
- is there a shower door or curtain?
Thanks.

How are they handling shore excursions/visits ashore? Can you go on your own or are you required to do ship-provided excursions?
Also, are they providing Covid testing on board? It’s subject to local rules. All of our ports have been what celebrity calls “free flow,” either the exception of Colon, where ship tours are required.
We were required to provide Covid test results prior to boarding

I’m on a 15 night full transit right now and it’s great!

Did the ship have any Halloween celebrations or costume parties? I noticed from marine tracker that you are off the coast of Acapulco.
There was a Halloween party on deck that night. Decorations went up that afternoon. Nothing extravagant but nicely done - black balloons, inflatable pumpkin, “do not enter” door decorations. There was a costume contest with prizes.

Thanks @GMoneyfor the report. Especially the port report. I don't think anybody else yet has reported on any ports.
You’re welcome. Glad it’s appreciated
i attended the second and final destination / excursion presentation today. I have a canal tour booked, featuring the Culebra Cut, but it seems redundant if we are sailing through the canal, so I have to decide what to do. It’s sounds like we will be transiting the old locks.

Were you docked at Puerto Quetzal? There’s usually an interesting excursion to Antigua.
Glad you are otherwise enjoying your cruise!
Yes - we were docked at PQ. Captain earned his pay with docking successfully at such a small pier.
the idea of Antigua didn’t really do much for me - too much time in a bus

I’m on this cruise and was on the prior Pacific Coast one as well. Overall, things have been good, especially the weather. I think that’s going to deteriorate a bit as we approach Panama, but oh well.
The only exception has been Internet performance, which has been brutally poor the past 2 days. I don’t expect land type spied but I do expect to be able to send a text. I can post her only because it’s 3 am.
Today’s stop in Guatemala was a bit disappointing as well. Very industrial port with nothing nearby. It would have been much nicer to see Acapulco. However, I knew the itinerary going in, and am really here just to transit the canal and get home to Florida.
with that said, there was been very little discussion of the canal. Hopefully that will change with today’s destination talk, and now that is closer.
On a side note, I love M class. Great size, decent ship features, strong connection to the sea.

Thanks so much for doing this live thread. It a big help leading up to me boarding on the 19th. Wish you were staying for the canal.

You were so fortunate to have such great weather. I join you tomorrow and it looks like things will be much more variable fir the next sailing. Oh well.

We have to agree. The food has been very nice and we have also ordered a couple things off MDR menu.
Thank you so much for the live posts. I got “moved up” to Aqua Class in the next cruise. Did you previously post that you can order from the MDR dinner menu in Blu? Also, could you please tell me the dress code?

I purchased it onboard the first day of my cruise.

When buying the UDP, Is a standard tip amount for each meal included? Or do I still need to tip my server separately?

Yeah, I think that's gonna be my plan for next time, heard good things from our shuttle driver as well.
It’s awesome. Upper Dewey and Devils Punchbowl are amazing on a good weather day.

It's definitely a lot of time on the boat, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, provided the weather is decent. There were small outer areas at both the front and back of the boat where we were able to step out and take pics. I don't regret doing it; it just wasn't a "wow" for me.
