  1. Yup

Forgot my wife's Captains Club log in stuff and a call to "Stephanie" at the captains Club fixed everything.

She needed to go to IT but they'd gone for the day, but she called me back a day or two later and all was well.

After all the posts on how stuff goes wrong calling in I thought it be nice to post a good experience.

    Should I add a $$$$ tip somehow.... :eek::p:rolleyes::cool:

(I know, I added the last line.... let's just say that "The Devil made me do it.") :p

Yes! Stephanie is a wonderful asset to Celebrity. She went above and beyond in helping me arrange an event on our June 2016 Baltic cruise.

Thanks for posting this, it allows me to piggyback on your kudos.

    :)

  2. What have your experiences been in Suite Class regarding the quality of food in Luminae, snacks in cabin and overall service? Is there anything new or overly impressive?

    Many thanks in advance!

We sailed on Eclipse June 2016. Wonderful experience...Luminae was outstanding, we enjoyed several musical events in MC, a tour of the bridge, a very special sail away on the helicopter pad leaving Sweeden and many other lovely perks. The suite life is a good life :)

  3. I've never seen shorts in Luminae at dinner. Breakfast and lunch...yes.

We are about to go on our first cruise since this new suites only dining room. Does anyone know if you can wear nice walking shorts and a polo shirt to dinner or is that not appropriate? Thanks for any feedback
  4. We had a similar opportunity this June on Eclipse. From Aqua to GTY Suite for only $200.00 more. We got an S1 corner aft, and felt like we hit the lottery!! We thought Aqua was lovely...Suite Life is a completely different level of cruising...Michaels club and Luminae are only the beginning...amazing canapés and pastries delivered by your Butler every afternoon. Concerts and other activities in MC most every day. Skipping the long lines in St. Petersburg was so great...the MC concierge walked suite guests to the head of the 40 minute line ...others have noted the special invitations to the bridge and helipad.

I suggest that you jump at this offer.

But please be warned...you may never want to go back to C1. We loved our experience so much, that we've booked 3 cruises through January 2018... All in corner aft suites :)

We currently have a C1 on the 'hump' area on deck 11. There is a Suite Guarantee for just a few hundred dollars more. What are your thoughts on if it's worth it or not? We are new to Celebrity ships but are Elite based on our Royal Diamond status.

We don't do dressy anymore so maybe we won't be able to take advantage of the suite restaurants. Are they available for breakfast and lunch too?

What other perks are there that I should consider?

    Thanks for any input!

  5. We've booked the Miami Airport Marriott for this October 30 -$107.00 per night...taxes included. We've never stayed there. But they do provide a free shuttle to the port...leaving at 11:00, noon and 1:00 pm. The Biscayne Bay Marriott was $169.00 per night, before taxes...for the same night, and no free shuttle.

    Hope this helps.

I am leaving from Miami and need a decent place for the night before. Would like to not have to pay for extra transportation to the port but will if need be.

  6. Yes, thank you...we have our hotel in Miami, I'm looking for a cost effective way to transition from FLL to the hotel. Do you have a suggestion other than a taxi?

Just a quick look down the board would reveal the common suggestions to get a hotel in Ft Lauderdale, then shuttle to the Port of Miami the day you sail. Lots of hotel recommendations here, as well as shuttle suggestions. Probably taxi to hotel from airport. No problem getting a taxi from airport to hotel. But from Ft Lauderdale to Miami, taxi is your most expensive choice.
  7. So happy I found this thread! I came off our Baltic cruise ( July 2016) 20 lbs over my healthy weight. On September 1 I decided to get serious and lose 16 lbs before our October 30 Panama Canal sailing. 8 weeks...2 lbs a week. I am eating only whole foods...nothing processed - if it comes in a bag or a box...I'm not eating it. Just fruits, vegetables, beef, fish, eggs...Half and half in my coffee...no other dairy. No alcohol, no sugar. Nothing between meals. It's very restrictive, but I've lost 7.1 lbs since September 1. My hope is to fit into the clothes I bought last spring. I had to get serious, the prospect of 16 days of indulging on the ship was freaking me out. Before we retired we only took week long vacations a few times a year, I'd usually eat and drink whatever I'd want, gain 4-5 lbs. and lose them before the next trip. Since 2014 our trips have been longer and the weight gains crazy. I really need to be more disciplined on the ship. With eating and exercise :)

  8. Such great suggestions. I was so sad when I read OP 's post...Then I read this reply.

I do agree that planning our travels is as much fun as the actual adventure but to never get to go...I'd be devastated.

So to the OP, I hope you are indeed able to save up and make your fantasy a reality.

Suggestion, why don't you try saving $50 per month for 3 years. You'll have $1800 and that can buy you a real cruise.

    Cut back on buying lunch

    No more Starbucks

Cut out going to the movies, and rent one instead

No more going out for a drink, have one at home with Hubby

    You don't NEED those shoes

Cut back on all groceries and cook at home, no more eating out

Put all birthday/Holiday money in your cruise fund

I'm sure you can think of dozens more that fit your life style

You can dream for real and Bon Voyage in 3 years! :)

    Have a wonderful cruise! ;)

  9. Have all the Celebrity ships transitioned from Steiner to Canyon Spa?

We'll be sailing on the Infinity soon. How does everyone like Canyon Spa? Relaxing? Upsell?

Had an acrylic fill and pedicure on the Eclipse in July. Both were over $89 each. Gratuity was 20%. Both nail techs tried to up sell... I declined...no worries

  10. We have stayed in cc, aqua and Sky suites...and enjoyed every minute of every cruise :) As others have noted, balcony cabins are all pretty much the same. I'm sure you'll have a wonderful time ...there's nothing like those sea days. Enjoy!

We have a transatlantic cruise coming up aboard the Reflection, and I've been reading through all the posts about getting a suite, aqua class, concierge class, etc and what perks you get with each one. We will just be traveling in a standard balcony cabin on deck 8, and was wondering if some of you could describe your overall experience in these rooms, and what areas of the ship are potentially off-limits for those of us that don't have an upgraded room?

    Thank you!

  11. Sorry to hi-jack this post...but I cannot figure out how to eliminate the lists of past/future cruises. Would you be so kind as to explain?

    Thanks so much.

I have adjusted my settings so that I don't get the list of past/future cruises. Some are very long and on a very active roll call it can take quite awhile to scroll through the those cruise lists to get to the posts.
  12. We were on Equinox last fall. There was a fabulous parade in the atrium...many pax and crew participated. After the parade, a best, funniest, etc. contest...then a great party in the atrium...tons of fun. Enjoy!

So we will be on the Equinox over Halloween this year...does anyone know if Celebrity will throw a costume party or any kind of party for Halloween. Thanks for any help!
  13. Hello, In Nov. we'll be coming off a Panama Canal cruise...driving from SanDiego to San Francisco, with a (2 day) stop over in Carmel...and then 4 nights in Napa valley before SF. I've been on Trip Advisor for days now...and can't seem to pull the trigger...any suggestions for accommodations would be greatly appreciated.(We'd like to keep it under $500.00 per night)

    Thanks so much!

    Kathie

  14. Did you have an acrylic fill? At $15 a nail that would be $150 plus tip. I have had an acrylic nail repaired on the ship & that was $15. I checked the price of a fill awhile ago and with the 18% tip it close to $80.

For traveling I do French or American so as they grow out it isn't obvious. Manage to go about 28 days between fills if I am traveling

Thank you Jelayne, $80... Is quite a premium...considering that I pay $20 for a fill in NY. But as we'll be away from home for almost a month-I'm grateful that X offers the service. Thank goodness for OBC. :-)
