We are just off the Eclipse, the first time on her since the production shows have changed. We saw the previous ones 4 times.

 

The new shows are called Topper, Rock, and Chandelier. We saw all three. Each was equally awful. Topper and Chandelier attempted a storyline linking the unconnected songs. The stories were terrible. Such that a child would be bored given their banality. Rock was a straightforward sequence of songs without any connection. All three shows suffered from terrible sound. Like it was muted and subdued such that you would struggle to believe it was live. The male lead in Topper and Chandelier had a screechy voice that had a limited range.

 

Having recently experienced Royal's entertainment on Anthem, Celebrity have taken a retrograde step with its production shows. Apparently the shows are rehearsed for 3 months in Miami but rehearsal is irrelevant when the storyline and production values are so weak.

 

The previous shows were way better. Celebrity please treat us like adults and give us something of quality and substance.

We sail on the Eclipse this month on the 19th.

Suggestions please as to what to do instead...I do like the idea of sitting on the balcony...but not every night!

Yes...yes, it's true...sanitizing is nothing but a hope and prayer.... A person cannot be "sanitized"...you can wash your hands, tho...that washed the germs OFF your skin, if you do it right!

We sailed on Equinox ...TA ... last year after a norovirus outbreak...purchased(on Amazon) Clorox Bleach Free Hand Sanitizer...did not get sick...ALL of our trivia team members got sick...we swear by this product

We do tip extra.

The service is so wonderful. We tipped the hostess, several waiters and their assistants. I think we gave each person $20.00

I do believe that any amount would be most welcome.

We have an upcoming AQ cruise that includes Blu. Do you tip extra? Who do you tip and how much? (position not name)

 

I was wondering if there is an amount that would be insulting to the recipient?

Transatlantics have become very popular of late. Suites fill up fast. I wouldn't count on getting the same deal that you got for your 19 June sailing.

 

After final payments, no matter what category you are, there are no adjustments -- only upgrades, and you have to pay the difference.

Hello, We are booked (June19 sailing) on only our 5th cruise...3rd with X. We're still trying to figure things out. We'd appreciate insight on booking strategy. For our current cruise we originally booked an Aqua1 cabin. On May 9th, I happened to notice a W GTY suite offered for the same price as our A1 ...called TA...she snagged the Guarantee suite. Yesterday we were assigned our suite, an S1, yay! This suite was priced $3360.00 more last fall when we booked. So needless to say we are delighted. My questions are the following:

We intend to book two more X cruises while on board next month. Spring and Fall 2017. Both transatlantic.

Would you all recommend that we book Aqua, keep checking for suite price drops after final payment and hope to be lucky again?

If we book a suite and the price drops after final payment, can we request an adjustment?

Dear All, Thanks so much for taking the time to reply. I rec'd an email from X this morning saying my e- docs are ready to print. Upon checking them,the note next to cabin says GTY. So perhaps we won't find out until a day or two before sailing. It's all good :-). We are after all, now sailing in a suite!

We were booked and paid in an Aqua cabin on a June 19th sailing. On Monday, May 9 we had the opportunity to upgrade to a W GTY Suite...for the same price as our Aqua. My question is this: when can we expect to receive our cabin assignment? TIA

Now on Equinox's last (Oct 15) Mediterranean sailing for the season, and received an update from the staff at the CC meet & greet today. The temporary faster internet has been a test for this and the prior two sailings, but will end after that for now. It won't be available for the next sailing which is the Oct 27 TA to Fort Lauderdale (bummer since we're on that too).

 

So far, I'm impressed with this temporary increase. Seems very responsive, and I was even able to do a FaceTime video call with my son back in FL yesterday as we sailed out of Barcelona.

 

I didn't get a chance to find out any more information, such as when this upgrade will be more widely deployed. Hope to hear that later in the cruise.
