  1. Our dinner at Lawn Club was great. Lunch not so, nor were the passengers sitting at table next to us. Short version, they sent burger back 3 times as it was undercooked. They suggested we order well done. We did and burgers came to us with uncooked in middle. LG manager did offer to redo, we did not want to spend the time to wait, so he did not charge us, thus doing the right thing. FYI, Mast Grill hockey pucks were cooked throughout and tasted very good as I wanted to compare, with a very long line. Hot fries too.

I had Dover Sole (delicious) twice on our cruise and had Yandhi as our server. He was excellent!

Hope you enjoy your cruise too!

Just had the burgers at Mast Grill, ff, x sauce and grilled onions, no line,we’re in St Thomas. All still Great!

  2. We'll be on her for our first X cruise 3/11/18 and are definitely looking forward to it. We read a lot of reviews and you'll always find a Negative Nancy but it sure seems like the positive X reviews far outnumber them. So are you Silhouette Suzy now? :D

    You bet👍👍🚢

  3. I was reading a bit before our cruise, we're on her now 2/11-18, and read the reviews on cruise critic. The day we set said was a very negative post. Of course I didn't share this with hubby as negative Nancy I am not. Especially since the first place he wanted to dine was the Lawn club. Let me just tell you it was nothing like the negative post I read. Delicious food, fun atmosphere and very attentive service. So I guess it's all in perception. The ship is lovely and so are the crew. I'm sure there will be those out there who will pick apart my post, but to each his own. My glass is half full and we enjoy life. Select dining was fine, waited maybe 4 minutes to get a table and the gal in charge of finding us a table was accommodating and pleasant.

  4. For the first time in a decade we have decided not to sail for the latter part of this year... that’s two fewer months than our average... all because we notice that the experience is no longer exceptional for the prices Celebrity is asking.

Occasionally there are great deals and we can wait or just look for alternatives. Last week green beans were the vegetable of the day every day for every entree. Man (or Woman) does not live on beans alone. This week there was a change to “vegetable of the day”.

We have just cruised too much and remember the past too well to accept the present offerings at inflated prices.

Hoping you folks are burnt out and experiencing the same old same old, as we board today and have read nothing but great reviews on this ship. We're D+ on RCCL, and ventured away for a while, got sick of the same and needed a change. Holland was very nice, MSC, not so much. Anyway, we're back, and hoping for the best:cool:

  5. Not to bash Celebrity at all, as I am very appreciative of the Elite Plus perks they give me.....but I think its a good idea to take a break and cruise another line. Even if you felt Celebrity's MDR food was absolutely fantastic....the menus are exactly the same on all ships on all sailings. Eventually you will get tired of them. Ditto the production shows. We did a cruise on NCL Getaway in September before X made Equinox available year round in the Caribbean....and really enjoyed different menus, decor, shows, etc. Ditto MSC Yacht Club. Sometimes a change is refreshing.

We needed a change from RCCL, D+, always feels like home, a good thing but the menus were always the same, so we went for a change. Sailed Holland, very good and MSC, Divina, not so good ( customer service) so looking forward to coming back to Celebrity 😀

  6. So our disembark from Getaway was a bit delayed due to congestion on the gangway, but we were on our way to our transportation just a 30 minute delay. After picking up Cindy and John at their hotel we arrived to Port Everglades a little after 11am. Not very crowded yet and we made it through security and check-in in under 10 minutes. We were then escorted to Michael’s Club which was already quite busy. We grabbed a seat at the bar and met the Concierge Niko. She confirmed the pre-cruise requests I made for a wedding party in our cabin for Cindy and John tomorrow after their ceremony and a birthday celebration for Mike on the 17th. Then it was on to Luminae where we are now comfortably relaxed awaiting our lunch. Bahamas Mamas coming right up!1dc4cf311f7b6bf9a5c3514b0c35a783.jpg

Looks delish. Anxiously awaiting your pics and review. Btw, how was the Getaway?

  7. I may the same. Caffeine in my drug of choice! You can get any coffee at Cafe Bacio, regular or speciality. We both enjoy cappuccino or lattes. The ones with liquior are $1 over the classic limit so you just pay the $1. Try the Aspen. There is also a mini Cafe Bacio as you enter the ocean view Cafe on the right side entrance. You can also get fresh OJ there as well on the classic. There is also regular coffee at the drinks dispenser in the cafe. They will probably bring you speciality coffe in the MDR at breakfast as well but we didn't go there for breakfast. The elite breakfast also has speciality coffees.

You can also, order regular coffee from room service in the morning ( no speciality ones). Enjoy!

    Where is the Elite breakfast?

  8. We sailed the Silhouette this past Nov. on the TA .. great cruise and ship. Enjoy!

Hi Vickykay. Since you've sailed on this ship, I have a coffee question. What's the best way to get a good cup of coffee in,the morning? We have the classic drink plan and are Elite members. Is there a lounge with a cappuccino machine? Or will my classic drink pkg cover those or do I need to upgrade to a Premium drink package! Thanks much

  9. They may not be important to you, but they may be to someone else. Wonder if you would have the same response to someone asking if the ship would live broadcast the Superbowl game.

O P, I can't say for sure, but there should be some kind of coverage. I'm going to be at a resort in Mexico for the last week of the Olympics. Fortunately they have good WIFI, and I plan on watching a few events while lying by the pool with my Pina colada.

    Fingers crossed.

  10. I'm waiting for our renewed passports. If you don't need them to fill out pre boarding documents, I guess I'll fill them out?? Just curious, how long did it take anyone to renew passports? I didn't do express.

  11. ummm.... Exact dates are already foggy but it went something like this- for the trip in June I booked 6 weeks before sAil. Filled out info (minus passport) about 4 weeks Before sailing since MSC is supposed to send out paperwork 2-3 weeks ahead of time. I waited until about 10 days before sailing to contact them.

For my trip in April I booked about 6 weeks ahead and never ever could fill out any paperwork online. About a week before sail I hadn't received anything. Contacted my ta who had to manually enter data on a 3 way call with Msc. Tickets were emailed to my TA the next day.

we share the philosophy of waiting until the last minute for less chance of screw up :)

  12. PART 4

Our stateroom was an aft balcony on deck 11 right next to the port side exterior staircase. The room was more spacious then some more expensive rooms we’ve had on other ships, and the balcony was far deeper than we had anticipated.

Although large enough for two lounge chairs or a table and chairs, the balcony came with only two small chairs and one footstool—so much for eating breakfast on the balcony.

We love aft balconies because of the amazing views, but if you’ve never had one and are considering trying, know that the breeze is considerably less on aft balconies versus the standard balconies on the sides of the ship (this is the case on all ships). Many times we’d attempt to go out and enjoy the balcony, but quickly had to retreat back to the air conditioning because of the stifling heat. Even in the shade, the lack of air movement can make the balcony unusable in the middle of the day.

We were lucky that our room was next to the stairwell, so we could stand next to the divider between our balcony and the stairwell, lean forward, and catch some of the breeze coming around from the side of the ship.

Having enjoyed three “aft-wrap” balconies on other cruises (a room on the back corner of the ship with a balcony that stretches around from aft to one side of the ship), we felt as if MSC lost some prime “real estate” by installing exterior stairwells on the two sides rather than using that space for rooms with aft-wrap balconies. Don’t get me wrong, we loved having the staircase next to our room—it was our quick route to the buffet and to the Garden Pool. However, other than a few crew members hanging out in the shade during their breaks, we hardly ever saw (or heard) anyone else using that staircase.
