  1. We are going to be in 1586. I sleep pretty heavily so noise isn't too much of a concern. I am just very excited to be in a GS for the first time! Counting down the days.

We are on the April 23rd sailing and this will be our first time in a GS as well. We were on LOS last May and it was our first time with a balcony in a JS. We are hooked now and won't ever take one without. Lol!

  2. What about 1598 and 1298. They are separated from the others a bit and are more mid ship. Those look like they are right under the pools, so noise may be a factor like you guys said.

Is there any vantage to being more mid-ship regarding movement of the boat?

Where is the concierge lounge on the Liberty? I have seen several locations when I am searching and it is not showing up on the deck plan on cruise critic.

We are boarding this Sunday the 23rd and are in 1598 I hope noise isn't to much of an issue.

  3. Just an FYI, I got pulled for a random bag check at Cape Canaveral and got fined $500 (or arrested) for not having my water pills and anti-depressant in the container they came in. The guy was on a total power trip and stood there, tested every single water pill, then told me one of the medicines was a controlled substance and since they couldn't verify the prescription I could either pay a $500 fine or get arrested and see a judge the next day.

So..just be careful. Anything that's considered a controlled substance you might want to bring a bottle with. Especially if you disembark on a Sunday where no one can call to verify info with your doctor :-(

I still don't think what they did was legal, but it's too late to do anything about it now. I even heard one of the officers come by and go "Woo hoo! It's payday Sunday! Everyone's paying them today!" Another officer later admitted I got pulled for the bag check because I only declared $50 in spending on my form (It was a 3 day cruise to the Bahamas...I didn't buy much of anything...I live in FL and have been there a hundred times.)

Never had that experience at any other cruise port. It scared the hell out of me because I've never been in any kind of trouble before, and to be threatened with arrest was a bit ridiculous to me. I'd always brought those two items exactly the same way on every other cruise I'd been on, but from now on I'm bringing the bottle. Yeek.

Wow, that's ridiculous. Maybe I'll keep them in the bottles just to be on the safe side. They way my luck has been going lately, that would probably happen to me.

  4. Ok, so this may be a long shot, but I'm gonna try it anyway. Last year when the hubby and I sailed on LOS we were introduced to a new wine (or it may have been a champagne or sparkling wine because it had some fizz to it if I remember correctly). We were told the name and I have since forgotten it. All I remember is that it starts with the letter "V" and is a sweet red. I would know the name of it if I head it, but for the life of me I have racked my brain and keep coming up with nothing. So, to all my wine drinkers out there, throw some "V" names my way and see if you can help me figure out which one it was because we LOVED it!!! TIA

  5. Please be aware that any beverages ordered online to be delivered to your cabin, they will NOT be delivered until day 2 due to Texas liquor laws. If you want a bottle of champagne for sailaway, or wine for dinner, carry them onboard with you. Drink packages are available right away, but with limited selections until the ship is 12 miles out of port.

Specifically about the Blue Moon. We don't plan on bringing any alcohol on board as we both have our drink packages. I'm just curious to know if they serve it on the ship. Thanks!

  6. Hello all,We are set to board the LOS on the April 23rd sailing and I have a few questions.

    1) My husband will be celebrating his 50th Birthday while on board and I am in the works of ordering some Royal Gifts for him. I've got them all selected but haven't checked out yet because I see that there is the option for a coupon code. Does any happen to have, or know where I can find a coupon code that might give me some discounts on my order? Thanks in advance if you do.

    2) Does anyone happen to know if they serve Blue Moon on the ship? This is my husbands new found favorite so hoping that the answer is yes.

    3) When bringing prescription meds on board, its it required to have them in their original bottles? I would rather use one of the pill holders with the days of the week on them so I will have room for my prescription meds as well as my vitamins, but I just don't want to have them taken due to them not being in their original bottles.

    Thanks!!!

  7. Go with the flow? Seriously, things can be rearranged. We had been on LB 3x already this year and went on March 5, a month ago. Every time the first night had one show, at 10 pm. We made our reservation at 7 for Chops. So guess what's scheduled at 7:15 pm. That's right, the welcome back show. You pick up the phone and change your time for dinner.

If you are gonna cruise very much, you just can't plan to the inth degree. Part of enjoying a cruise some of the time is to be spontaneous.

I crack up at people wanting to know every single movie they will show on the pool deck all week long. What does it matter? I don't cruise to see what movie is on. I can watch movies at home. There are some kiddy movies and some for grown-ups. Nuff said.

Arrange shore excursions and a meal or two, don't miss the big shows, and other than that, go with the flow!

We don't cruise for the movies either, in fact we seldom ever turn our TV on in our room at all. Lol!

  8. When did the cupcake decorating class go up to $30. I thought this sounded like fun just not sure I want to pay $30. Does anyone know if it is cheaper on board Liberty?

We sailed in May of last year and it was $25. I hope it didn't go up, but anyway, it's not one I would do again as I'm a professional decorator anyway. I just joined in on the class last year because my daughter wanted to do it and wanted me to join her.

  9. Thanks all, we just booked the Balcony with the connecting Ocean view. I want to say thank you for your help and sharing your wisdom.

And to Brillohead, I have to say, it doesn't have anything to do with trusting our children, it's everyone else that you have to watch out for, You must not know what it is like to have daughter's. A hallway is a long distance between you and your children.

I totally agree with you on that one. My daughter just turned 11 on our last cruise this past May, and I still wouldn't let her be a self signer at AO. We are cruising again next month on the Liberty (for the second time), and this time our 13 year old niece will be joining us, so her and my daughter will have a little more freedom to run around. We are in an owners suite so the four of us will all be in one room, but we don't mind. Someday maybe we will go the connecting room route.

  10. If it is really windy or rough seas, they will close the gate that allows access up the stairs. I have found it to be closed on a few occasions.

The helipad is my favorite place for stargazing at night, very dark & usually quiet. On a clear night it is amazing the number of stars you can see.

    Sherri:)

We are on the April 23rd sailing. This will be our second time on the Liberty. I love the helipad. I haven't been up there at night for star gazing, but I'm gonna have to do it this time for sure.

  11. Just a quick question for those of you who have ever brought a minor on board who was not your own child. We are bringing our niece with us on our next cruise (in 37 days). We already talked to Royal Caribbean yesterday and we were told that we will need her birth certificate, medical power of attorney and a notarized letter from her mom stating that we are allowed to take her with us out of the country. She has residential custody of her daughter. Do any of you know if I will also need to get a notarized statement from her dad as well? I want to make sure that we have all our ducks in a row so we don't get there only to find out that we are missing something and can't get her on the ship.

    Thanks!

  12. We keep having issues EVERY SINGLE TIME we try to log on to our C&A account. It just always tells us that our email and password isn't valid even after we change it. We can call C&A to get help from them logging on, and then the very next time we try it, we have the same issue. This has been going on for a year now. We are on Safari, but I have recently installed Chrome so I will give that a try and see if it makes a difference.

  13. Diamond Lounge is on deck 14, starboard side. Suite lounge is on the same deck, port side. Both lounges have cocktail hours in the evening. Both lounges offer 24 hour complimentary specialty coffee.

When you say speciality coffee, is that limited to just the hot coffee drinks or do they also offer iced coffee and fraps?

  14. There isn't a CL on Liberty anymore. It has been replaced with a Suite Lounge on Deck 14. It is for Suite guests(GS and above) and Pinnacles .

Just curious to know what the amenities are in the Suite Lounge. This is our first time in a GS and are just curious to know what the perks are. And also what are all the perks that you get in the GS? We are Emerald right now if that makes a difference. Lol! I thought that we heard there will be fresh fruit in the room every day and chocolates at turn down every night. Can anyone confirm this and what else is there?

  15. We sailed on the Liberty last May and are set to sail again in April. We didn't have any bad experiences in the MDR. The food was all really good as was our wait staff. The WJ on the other hand is a bit repetative like others have mentioned, but there are still lots of good choices to find. We pretty much only ate breakfast in the WJ and then would catch lunch at Sorentos. We found their pizza and other items to be very delicious and not as crowded. We also at Johnny Rockets twice and really enjoyed it (aside from the wait time to get a table).
