  1. That happens occasionally when they don't have enough CPB officers to work or they don't have facial recognition set up. We've been waved through 2 or 3 times out of 35 cruises. We were even waved through at Dulles one time returning from Nassau, but we were on a charter flight with my husband's company (intel community contractor). So, everyone on the flight was known and no one could book it that weren't already booked to travel through the TA they used.
  2. I've seen ports that want DL's with sepasses let people through with just a seapass. A guy in front of us in April (can't remember which port but Caribbean) said he only had his seapass with him. They told him he could go through but he needed to have his ID.
  3. You don't seem to understand that they boarded with a DL and BC and lost the DL. To leave the ship, they need both. Pretty simple.
  4. You mean when someone is throwing a hissy fit and others can't help but notice? I don't get why anyone would ever ask to see anyone else's card, but then I've never seen most of the things others have reported either.
  5. Haven't had anything in the fridges for years. They finally realized that most people don't utilize it and want to use it for their own stuff.
  6. I saw a post on FB yesterday with a chart showing the new rates. We buy an annual policy through Allianz. It covers more than RCI's does.
  7. Oh, I've got plenty of time. I'm being very proactive as I have the time right now to wait for it. Next year, when it actually expires was going to be virtually impossible to have the timeframe available.
  8. Who took her photo? It states on the State Dept site that glasses aren't allowed unless you have a medical reason with a signed statement from your doctor. I got my photo taken at CVS and the software they use verifies the photo meets all the requirements.
  9. We utilize informed delivery also.
  10. JS are rapidly approaching 5K for two people for 7 nights.
  11. It's a good thing they have computers to calculate all of that lol. We've had plenty of cruises where a discounts are applied in such a way that one guest pays more than the other.
  12. My question is is the 10% deposit on the base fare? Or is it on the fare after discounts as it's per person and as we know the discounted fares aren't always identical per person depending on the type.
  13. The DL concierge on EN last month told us there are changes coming for JS so they get more suite-type benefits.
  14. Just saw this. We always book JS. That sucks about Next Cruise bookings. One of the draws was the lower deposit amount. We currently have 11 cruises booked between now and spring 2025. All are in JS (4 b2b's and 1 b2b2b). One b2b and the b2b2b were booked onboard. Now, if they are treating JS more like GS and above, it's time to upgrade the benefits which was what I also heard was coming on our EN cruise last month. I know I posted that before, so maybe this is a precursor to that.
  15. I just checked my status and it's in process.
  16. No, not always. I've been on several cruises where the C&A members Gold and above totaled more than the first timers.
  17. Somebody needs to quit being so snarky. I just posted what a current RCI cruise director posted. You know, an RCI employee so I asked a question. Simply wow.
  18. I just saw a post by CD Mitch who said Royal is looking for a new meteorologist. So, where did it say they were eliminating the position which is what I saw in the original post?
  19. I see you don't like the answers you are getting. I didn't realize that you get to control how others feel. Also, if C&Ameans "very little", then why are you so wound up about it?
  20. What do you consider a "family group"? What if someone is bringing their "family" on a cruise for a anniversary celebration and they have 50 people in their group? By your logic they should all get the highest status. I don't get this idea that people would have to hang out "in the hall" as drinks are now loaded on seapasses and can be shared. A lot of people never go in the lounge either. We've traveled with friends who were gold on RCI back about 8 years ago when they gave the 3 coupons in addition to free drinks in the lounge. DH and I would go to the lounge for 1/2 hour or so and grab a drink and snack and then we'd meet our friends for pre-dinner drinks and share our coupons. We have friends who do that with their family members all the time. There has to be a limit. Everyone who says "it's just one more person", well, it's just one more for YOUR group, but it could be a few hundred on the large ships.
  21. DH and I have never really sweated "germs" and we never had Covid. Neither did my parents (85 yr olds). Both our sons and DDIL's did, but very mild cases. One DIL is a nurse and the other has immunity issues (she's had it twice). Both DS worked through the entire pandemic and only caught it in 2022 so well after the worst. DH and I are "baby boomers" and drank from hoses, played in dirt, etc. I've always believed that exposure to "germs" helps build immunity. I'm someone who rarely got sick growing up and even now in my 60's. We don't wipe down our cabins or really worry. We wash our hands as required, press elevator buttons with our knuckles, but outside of that, nothing else. We don't wipe down or spray anything on a cruise ship or in a hotel room. We've cruised 8 times since restart and have stayed in multiple hotel rooms, at the beach and near cruise ports. Never wiped down any surface. I have had one sinus infection and nothing else in the last 4 years. DH has had one cold.
  22. It seems pretty random with times. Some of the people they interviewed for the news story have Europe trips planned for this summer and are all waiting.
  23. As I said, we don't have enough time with the trips we have planned. My choice. I really don't care about the time that some will think I'm "losing". I'm not sure why it's an issue for you if it's not for me 😉
