  1. That varies. We had them check our bottles in Baltimore one time. They pulled them out and read the labels. Other times, they've just looked inside the bag. We don't bother carrying on anymore. As D+ with 343 pts now we can get two free bottles during the cruise.
  2. I don't know anyone who has never owned a cell phone.
  3. DH is a type II diabetic and has mild asthma so he signed up today for shot #3 at CVS. I also signed up as I technically qualify with my weight/BMI. We both had Pfizer. We figured we'd just go ahead since we qualify. I didn't realize they were using all the same criteria for the third that they used for the first until I checked the info posted today. We're both going next week. There were plenty of appointments available. DH is getting his flu shot at the same time. I plan to wait a few days to get mine.
  4. I think the vaccine card addition may be part of the health check that is required to be done the day before (I think it's the day before).
  5. I get accused of that fairly often. As my BIL says, it "weakens the team".
  6. Me too. But, here's an idea, don't open check in if it's not really open.
  7. Someone on a RCI FB page posted that when it opened back up, everything would still be there. Someone asked how they knew that and guess what? Crickets. No one knows, but I'm not holding my breath.
  8. I have a cube that has 2 USB's so it doubles what I can charge. It's plenty to charge as we only plugs our phones in at night and Kindles when they need it and don't need anything else plugged in most of the time. Plus, my camera batteries last several days without a charge and most everything can be charged using a USB. Depending on the ship, there will either be USB outlets (newer larger ships) or not (smaller older ships). I just unplug something if I need to plug in my hair dryer. I did buy an extension cord that I take everywhere except cruises like the train (Amtrak) because there's only one outlet in the sleeping rooms we always go in. These are what I have: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07JLSY7W6/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0734SN6VR/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Obviously the extension cord/power strip does NOT go on cruises. I also have a portable battery that I carry for my phone during the day as needed and can be charged through my laptop usb hub. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01CU1EC6Y/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 https://www.amazon.com/Sabrent-4-Port-Individual-Switches-HB-UM43/dp/B00JX1ZS5O/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?dchild=1&keywords=usb+hub&qid=1632408712&sr=8-1-spons&psc=1&smid=A29Y8OP2GPR7PE&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUFRRVJJTFJDSFpHVFImZW5jcnlwdGVkSWQ9QTA1NTc2MDIyWlVNWEY5VzYzN1VSJmVuY3J5cHRlZEFkSWQ9QTA5MzY2NTkzRFBYQTI1RFYyWFhRJndpZGdldE5hbWU9c3BfYXRmJmFjdGlvbj1jbGlja1JlZGlyZWN0JmRvTm90TG9nQ2xpY2s9dHJ1ZQ== Yes, I buy a lot from Amazon lol. But these, other than the power strip give lots of options.
  9. We downloaded the info from the HD site right after we got our second shot. DH tried last night to get the QR code for the new app and never did get the text so there are issues with that. For our first shot in Feb, there was a long line around the building, but I have a knee issue and couldn't stand for long so we got a wheelchair and went right in. In March, we just walked in as there was no long line and they saw me limping and directed us straight through. Knee is getting better, but it is slow lol. When that site first opened it was crazy busy. We live in Ashburn so it was very convenient to go there. Heck, we moved here from MD in '95 and the mall wasn't even built then. Loudoun has a high vaccination rate which is nice.
  10. My DIL got hers from her rheumatologist who knows she is immunocompromised and what meds she is on. Not all Dr's have the vaccine, but some specialists do. Will I get it when eligible? Yes, but by nature I'm very honest and a rule follower so no shot for me right now as I don't qualify and have issues with lying about anything. What you're seeing is very self serving behavior. Problem is we have it on both extremes, those that will lie to get the shot and those that won't ever get it. What really gets me is the number of truly immunocompromised people is so much lower than those that claim it. Those that are currently fully vaccinated shouldn't be panicking.
  11. Interesting considering I tried to get a pneumonia shot last year and had to answer specific questions about whether I was diabetic or asthmatic since I was under 65. I'm neither so didn't get the shot. I don't see what the difference would be if they ask what you have considering they are pharmacists who are medical professionals and are required by law to not share your info with anyone else. Proof unless that's your pharmacy is hard to provide anyway. If it's your normal pharmacy, they see your prescription history and would know if there's something you're taking that would indicate immunity issues.
  12. No, it's not correct. Spouses have the same status, but each will have their own points.
  13. ORL? Orlando Airport is MCO. I wouldn't risk a flight quite that early. Could you? Possibly, but just one traffic issue or TSA issue could change all of that.
  14. We're the unlucky ones whose final payments were due 90 days out at the end of Aug (b2b) which we made just before they changed it to 30 days, then were allowed to check in, only to have them take the check in back and move it to Oct. Those of us who got a 1 pm check in aren't really very happy with having to start over.
  15. Nope. As I told the OP "you do you". I find it so funny that some are so judgmental about people using wifi when it literally doesn't impact them at all.
  16. So, DH just tried to get the app set up for VA. He requested the code be texted twice and he still hasn't received it. I'm not going to try until he's successful. My youngest son is an IT engineer/manager so I understand some of the issues they face that aren't their fault, but wow, the app has been out for a few days. It's a QR code that can then be scanned into our phones, saved or printed.
  17. The "up to 12 months" means 12 months from manufacture date, not 12 months extension on expiration. Our first two are extended by two months until late Dec. I haven't checked the ones we got today yet. We need them for a b2b on 28 Nov and 5 Dec. Obviously we only need for the 28 Nov cruise as we'll be tested onboard before the second leg.
  18. I ordered a 2 pack from Optum a few weeks ago and received it in 24 hours. DH ordered another 2 pack (just in case something was wrong with original ones) and they hadn't even shipped 6 days later which was a couple of days before we were leaving on vacation so he called and cancelled. We got home from vacation to find they had been delivered (never had a shipping notice) after we'd been gone 10 days and the temps had been 90 for a couple of days. Funny thing is, we had a credit on our credit card for them so we tossed them and ordered two more Sun night and we received those today.
  19. Dulles Town Center Mall in Sterling. Over a year ago. It was a smaller store than Tyson's. All the anchor stores there were. The mall has been sold and is going to become something a little different. We shall see.
  20. Most in our county got theirs at the same location. A closed Nordstrom at our local mall was used by the health dept and gave the vast majority of shots, especially before pharmacies got them. Even then, they were able to give a lot. I'm not sure about posting of shots from other providers, but they're probably on the site too. I just know for a fact that ours are since we went to the mall site.
  21. I'm 61 and other than being overweight have no other issues so no third shot for me unless they change the protocols, and then I WILL get it. DH has type II diabetes (very well controlled, in fact his A1C is barely over 6) and he's 64. We are going for our annual flu shots probably later this week. The 29 year old brother of a friend from my old job just passed from Covid yesterday. And if you guessed he hadn't had the vaccine, you would be right. Our DIL has some issues - she takes a few medications that suppress her immune system so she was given the third shot by her rheumatologist a couple of weeks ago. Our other DIL is a nurse so at some point I expect she'll get the third also.
  22. Love my TA. She got our $1400 (deposits from cruises we or RCI cancelled) applied to our upcoming Nov cruise with absolutely no issues.
  23. We got ours on Amazon and there were a ton of different sellers on there.
  24. Well, good thing some people can't spell and aren't always that bright, lol. If you don't know what I'm referring to, a woman faked a card for a trip to Hawaii and spelled Moderna as Maderna, and gee she got caught. She also lived in Illinois but her shot was supposedly in Delaware. TSA confirmed via contact with DE that she had not received a shot there. While it may be "easy" to fake, people do get caught.
  25. We each get our free 48 hours (D+) and sometimes use one of the 24 hour slots to buy the plan for the last couple of days of the cruise. We like having the connectivity to family, but, you do you.
