  1. Celebrity Ascent has arrived in Freeport! Finally....my time zone matches ship time! I'm posting the entertainment line up that has begun to load into the app. Really looking forward to some new entertainment! It looks like live music will be available in several different venues throughout the day. We struggled a bit on our last cruise (Equinox) to find live music at times that worked with our schedule each day. We don't have much of a schedule for this cruise as the ship is our destination so, in groupie-like fashion, we'll follow the music!
  2. Thank you very much! I'm bless to have a DH who loves cruising as much as me...and who tolerates my blogging about it as well! We are also on Edge next year so this should be a nice little preview...even though my understanding is that Ascent will have some differences from the other E class ships. Don't worry, I will take lots of pics!
  3. Can we talk about the app? It's been discussed here many times but I just want to add my 2 cents for a moment. For the most part, I have been fond of the app. It generally has the info I need, it's easily navigated/user friendly...my litmus test for any program is whether or not DH can use it...and even he can use the app with ease. SO...the other day I mentioned that the app was showing Sky Suite 9204. This was different from our original room assignment. To recap, I called my TA who confirmed the app was wrong. Today I opened the app and the room number has changed again! This time it shows room 12101. Huh, I think to myself...I wonder if I got an upgrade? So I opened my e-mail to check...no upgrade notification. Next, I went to the deck plans to see what category of room is now showing...keep in mind I bid on a RS and Edge Villa. Consider me gobsmacked when I saw that 12101 is none other than the ICONIC SUITE! Reminding myself, the app is glitchy, the app is glitchy, the app is glitchy...I take this new information to DH. In his infinite wisdom of all things electronic he says, "why don't you just log out of the app and then log back in?" Since when did he get so tech logical? Taking his advice, I did just that. Alas, the app has once again corrected itself and all of our original rooms are back in tact...🙃 If I was playing a game of ship-opoly and landed on the Community Chest, the card would have read, Ship error in your favor. 🤣 Now that's an error I could have lived with!
  4. If I'm correct, room 7118 is forward. Our room is also forward. I don't have any motion sensitivities so I guess I would have been ok in either location.
  5. Did the move up bid say give a sky suite category such as S1, S2, or S3? Or did it just say Sky Suite? If it just said Sky Suite, with no distinction between categories, then MC would be included in that category in the bidding process. The reason for the distinction between the Aqua and Sunset sky suites is due to the location of sunset (wake view) and the inclusions of the Aqua (entrance to thermal suite).
  6. WOW! Interesting news! My bids are still pending so maybe, just maybe an upgrade is in our future! I'll keep everyone posted, for sure!
  7. Thank you so much for the kind words! It seems that the martini bar opens at 11 AM on embarkation day so I think DH and I will make that our first stop! I have read good things about Le Voyage and I'm very interested in this venue for our cruise. The app wont let me make a reservation and is instead telling me to inquire once on board...so I guess we'll wait it out and see what happens. I really appreciate the suggestion!

  10. Thanks, Jim. So glad to have you along. We have, indeed booked Eden for our anniversary dinner! I am really excited as I've read nothing but great reviews. I just hope they don't change the menu to reflect Thanksgiving...I'm thinking that's more of an MDR thing to do...but on these pre-pre (Virgin ☺️) cruises, one never knows!
  11. Just got off the phone with my TA who has confirmed with Celebrity that our originally assigned stateroom for the second leg, SS1 is in fact, in tact. There is no accounting for why the app showed a different room assignment but the app is now back to showing our original room as well. I guess it's just glitchy. For this cruise we are arriving in FLL on Tuesday for our Wednesday embarkation. We have booked a room at the Hyatt Centric Las Olas in the downtown sector. Our room was booked using points from one of Dh's travel cards so it's only costing us a whopping $25 bucks! We have plans to walk around the city for a bit in search of good sea food, especially oysters. We welcome suggestions! And speaking of food...I was able to make a reservation at Eden for our anniversary dinner. Our reservation is for 7pm. Also interested in can't miss suggestions for the Eden menu... The other three nights we will try out the MDRs. For the second leg, we are dining in Fine Cut steak house on the first night. I guess we will stick with Luminae for the remaining two nights...unless we get upgraded, at which point we will try as many of the specialties as our stretchy clothes will allow. Drinks package: For the first leg we booked with the Classic package but upgraded to Premium when the price dropped in the cruise planner. Some people got the upgrade for $7 but ours never fell below $13.99...so the little OBC we were gifted from Aurora from the Executive Office covered most of that expense. One of our favorite things to do is visit every bar on any given ship for a cocktail and to check out the atmosphere. It seems that E class has a tad more bars than our S class go-to, so we may have our work cut out for us 😎.
  12. I take no satisfaction in any of this. It's unfortunate for both those on board and those who are eagerly waiting to embark. Delays in debarkation are few and far between but when it does happen, it should at the very least give one pause in their future travel planning. As hurricane season can extend through the entire month of November, I just looked into rebooking my 10:45 flight to a later time. The difference in fare to do so has also given me pause. As has been pointed out, even those with later flight times are impacted by this delay...so I'm going to roll the dice and plan for a positive outcome.
  13. Thank you for the update. Are there other ships waiting to dock as well? I'm guessing the pier is more quiet on a Thursday.
  14. Are you on the next cruise out? If so, did Celebrity notify you of delays?
  15. Ugh. I hate this for those who have an early flight. This is one of those unforeseen circumstances that makes booking a later flight more ideal. Our return flight after Thanksgiving is for 10:45. High winds have been an issue along the Florida coast off and on all month. Maybe I will change the flight time. Safe travels, Op!
  16. We were assigned our room immediately after booking back in August. I will ask my TA to check on it today. Could be a glitch.
  17. Wow! Joint anniversaries, how awesome! And I love the vow renewal. We’ve tossed that idea around for our 20th. Pittsburgh, eh? That’s DH’s neck of the woods too!
