I am currently looking for a recommendation for a hotel that is convenient to Heathrow Terminal 2? I'm looking for a hotel for the night before our flight home after our British Isles cruise next May.
Many thanks :)

I'll post this in the other forums, too, but thought I'd ask here as well: does anyone have a recommendation for a hotel that is convenient to Heathrow Terminal 2? I'm looking for a hotel for the night before our flight home after our British Isles cruise next May.

LOVE IT! :) Your writing style is a real treat.
We just booked this itinerary on the CB next May, so I look forward to your posts with even greater interest than usual. In particular, I hope you post the name of any private tour that you took, and your thoughts of them. I've already noted the company for Cobh! :)
Enjoy the rest of your trip.

Would someone please advise what brands of cosmetics are sold on board the Brilliance. Many thanks in advance. :)

Just of the Regal ourselves, we found the lack of satire a nuisance but we where on deck 8 so maybe that was it, buffet was amazing, the size of it is a little overwhelming at first, you almost have to survey it all first before you make a decision. I boarded the Regal with an open mind but the ship never won me over I must admit I would rather sail Crown class.
Would I aail on this class of a ship again, yes but not over the Crown class. The single pool concept really ruins the use of MUTS, no films during the day due to other things going on a at the pool. Will say no more for know because all of this has already been said.
Ps Princess Live is a dud concept, bring back Explorers.
Totally agree re Princess Live. Did not enjoy this venue at all (note we have only sailed on Royal). We like to spend a portion of every evening in Explorers, so the lack of it definitely affected our enjoyment.

No doubt you're right, xxoocruiser. I'm just hoping (or wishful thinking)! We have a 6:30 pm flight post cruise from Tampa. Oh well..... :(
-
I wouldn't call anything but a suite "spacious", but the cabins are well designed for storage....
Yes, but what I am asking is are they the same size as other same category cabins?
-
I noticed on the RCCL website that Tampa is not listed as the ports that offer luggage valet services. I'm just hoping that the information is outdated, and that they've actually started offering this! Specifically for Southwest.
Can anyone confirm either way - thanks! :)

We just returned from the Jan 3 sailing and were in 4002. It was convenient to be so close to the dining room and theater (the only places I was going in heels!) and very close to the forward stairs/elevators. We found it very quiet at night and there are several handicap-accessible cabins on that hallway so I think it's unlikely to be party central at any time. The only potential downside is that it is almost as far as you can get from the Windjammer, so for snacks and self-service juice and water refills, it will be a bit of a trek. We didn't mind, though.
Our steward, Allen, was also very attentive. Some friends sent us a bottle of wine and although we couldn't finish it in one night, it stayed on ice without us having to ask for several days.
The window is very lovely and we really enjoyed relaxing in our cabin and having such lovely views. I'm attaching a picture of sunset from our cabin the last night. I really don't think a balcony would be worth it to us vs the window (we're not sun worshipers and I hate being windblown). We would book this cabin again.
Thanks. Lovely photo. I'm afraid that cabin would be too far forward for me, though. Not because of the walk, but more because of the possibility of feeling more movement.

Those cabins are new. They were just installed when Brilliance went through her refurbishment.
And just to confirm - the OV rooms are the same size as all other OV rooms, correct? I ask because I've come across some posts here that refer to these rooms as being single rooms and very small.
-
Just got off the ship yesterday and our favorite cabins were built over part of the dining room area and start at 4580. The portholes are the same ones found in the dining room, about 5 feet in diameter. You can lie in bed and watch the sea with the curtains open. There are only 9 cabins there. 6 ocean view and 3 single inside cabins. Very quiet and very near the Centrum.
Thanks Watchdog. I noticed these cabins and wondered why they were off on their own. Were they spacious and laid out well? And bright? We have always booked balconies, but this is a spur of the moment decision and want to keep costs as far down as possible.

Is there any distinct difference between Oceanview cabins on Deck 3 vs Deck 4 on the Brilliance? Any specific pro or con to either? Any cabins to avoid, or to ask for?
We are booking a quick (unexpected) getaway. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated. :)

Thank you for doing this Live thread. Love your writing style, and look forward to hearing about the ports/experiences. South America is on our bucket list! :)

Add another vote in the "dislike Princess Live" column. We did not find it comfortable. To us, we felt like we were back in a lecture hall at university.
We LOVE Explorers and find ourselves in there for at least a portion of the evening every night. When we sailed on the maiden transatlantic on the Royal last fall, we found we really missed Explorers. It is one (but not the only) reason we will always look for a Grand-class ship over the Royal/Regal.

Thank you, Azamara
Joel - do the 2016 sailings also qualify for the $500 OBC? I booked and received the BOGOHO, but that was before the additional perk of OBC was added.
Thanks in advance. :)

Excellent - thank you. We went ahead and booked 7060.
This will be our first cruise on Azamara. Its not until 2016, so we have a while to wait, but we are quite excited! :)

I am just about to book our first Azamara cruise, and I am looking at cabin 7060 (on the Journey). Would someone please tell me what the small space is between 7058 and 7060.
Thanks! :)

We were able to take advantage of the 123Go promotion today and have the drink package added. Luckily for us, our cruise price did not change, and we were able to keep the same cabin. We were originally told we would have to surrender the early deployment OBC, but once I read the comments on here, I contacted my TA again, and she pushed back at Celebrity and had the OBC reinstated.
So thank you all for posting this info! I am very pleased! :D

My price hasn't changed either, but i have a dilemma about adding it. I already have the drink package and $200 for booking onboard. That stays with my booking should I switch cruises. If I change to 123, I'll get an extra $100 but could lose everything if I want to switch cruises later.
Super happy for friends though, their price hasn't increased either
Do you mean us? Or someone else? Just because I wanted to tell you that it would appear ours didn't go up either! :D

Great review! Looking forward to experiencing this for ourselves next year! :)

Thank you so much for this Live From. We did this sailing in February, and thoroughly enjoyed it. Its nice having the opportunity to relive it! :)
-
Heard it on the Island Princess last month, was very surprised, but loved it.
Really? We were on Feb 15 - Mar 2, and it wasn't playing it then. We LOVED hearing it on the Royal last October. We giggled every time we heard it!!!!!
-
We just did this itinerary & it's not required to get off the ship in Valparaiso. If not getting off you would have to go to a location on the ship at 10:00 to activate the next cruise's card & get a new photo.
Welcome home! Hope you had a great cruise. Drop us a line and tell us all about it when you are all settled.

Welcome home, Pia. I enjoyed "our" cruise - as always! :D
Hope Mike continues to improve. It won't be long until you're off again!
Heathrow Hotel Recommendation
in Cruise Air

I'll post this in the other forums, too, but thought I'd ask here as well: does anyone have a recommendation for a hotel that is convenient to Heathrow Terminal 2? I'm looking for a hotel for the night before our flight home after our British Isles cruise next May.
