Loving that picture of the Martini.......is it an Espresso?🙂

    Hi Lois,

yes! 😃 Made by Carlos in SALT bar. He is definately an artist. I could watch him all night. And the good thing is he doesn’t need a menu. You tell him what u like or which food u had and he will pair it.

Also may I say how much I like Arts Café. The design is beautiful. So many different kind of snacks during the day. Perfect breakfast venue before the excursions. And Caviar to go! 😃👍🏻

Thanks for sharing the photos😃 hope you are having a good time!!!!

    Hi Lous,

yes it was and still is a very good time.
Dinner (same in main venues all over the ship) was superb. The wine served was, however, extremely special: The Gaja Barbaresco red (Gaia Gaja, the Godmother of the Moon) is normally 500,00 Euros a bottle. The white Alteni is 96,00 Euros a bottle. So we got a very special treat. Hapag-Lloyd‘s CEO Julian Pfitzner was also on board. As are a couple of Youtubers.

I have much difficulty justifying spending thousands of dollars on a "vacation" just because it is currently "now the new normal" which I believe would adversely impact the enjoyment of my vacation.

Freedom of choice. Stay home, book a different cruise line, book a different kind of holiday, or do it the Emerson-way ("Life in the woods"). You choose.

    NOW BACK TO LOIS R.

Can't wait to hear more from your cruise experience on the Moon. It's certainly building up my excitement. 2 more days before boarding the Moon... 😎

  5. The event will take place in Athens on 28 July. All passengers are invited to join in the festivities.

I shall be posting some photos for those who are interested... Covid test result permitting 😉

May God bless her ... 🥳

  6. To be honest, I'm not a big fan of molecular cuisine or too-much-over-the-top-three-michelin-star restaurants, either. I prefer restaurants from the "Bib Gourmand" - those who are close to receiving their first Michelin star.

But, let's not forget, it's an art form. It's not only about "getting fed". If you go to a restaurant like the above mentioned places, you should know what to expect and to be able to enjoy the amount of work that has been put into these dishes by mostly young people who are trying to create something really amazing with good products.

Having travelled all over the U.S. for the past 30 years I can say that the "food culture" there, is in my view: problematic.

I would love to try the S.A.L.T. dishes that have been posted above and will certainly do so on my upcoming voyage.

  7. There can be issues on all cruise lines. On Regent Seven Seas Explorer I once tried to get a decent burger or ANY OTHER KIND of hot food at their coffee store after an excursion around 4pm. We had met a nice couple and were having a chat sitting down. No chance. I was told off. When I asked why, the F&B manager (stiff as a rock) told me it was not their "service standard" to serve burgers or anything else there. I should call room service and have it delivered to my suite.

Needless to say, because of this experience (and quite a few other service faults and the general stiffness of service staff onboard) we have never returned to RSSC.

I am assuming you are from the US.  Did you need to do a covid test in order to transit through Germany?  We will be stopping in Frankfurt on our way to Venice in September, and I want to make sure I do everything necessary.

As I just had 2 dear friends from Dallas as guests in my beautiful city of Frankfurt (yes, there is much more to it than the airport), if you are staying LESS THAN 24 HOURS in Germany there is NO REQUIREMENT to take a test or to register online.
