  1. I found leaving the suitcase open great for fitting under the bed on my last Carnival cruise. Just slide it under and out when something was needed.
  2. Actually I have always used Insure&AndGo in the past and was waiting for them to add cruising to their offers. Looks like it has been added. Mind you they weren't very helpful with refunds when we shut down but that is now in the past and my anger has subsided. After promising a total refund I think I got around 30%. But times were tough for them too.
  3. No I will always want travel with insurance. I do not care about cabin confinement and missing ports etc but do not feel safe in case something happens and I need to be airlifted off or end up in hospital in another country. Been on several trips where people have bee airlifted off - three I think. Also last trip someone died on the last night. Life is very unpredictable. I may fall down stairs or catch something else. All trips are ex Melbourne and go to Australia, New Zealand, Fiji and the Islands. Tasman can be very rough and trips from Melb usually take 3 days at sea to get anywhere. I will add National Seniors to my list. Thanks
  4. Yes I seem to remember that on the Golden we always had to use adapters. I wonder what will be on the Grand Princess when she gets here!!
  5. Many thanks to all who replied. It was as I thought. Because I survive on super and a part pension I cannot apply for a credit card with travel insurance (I am evidently a big risk and have to be working). My current credit cards don't give me insurance. Because I am 81 that disqualifies me for a lot of insurance policies. I am really ancient although I have no medical problems and don't take any medicines. I will search through the benevolent companies who will look on me with pity and see what comes up. This summer I will be on the first ship out of Melb on 4th Nov and also on the last one in March. Got a total of 8 cruises booked which together total 3 months thanks to the lockdown and cruise credits so an annual policy is the way to go if I can find one at a reasonable rate. Gosh I will forget what home looks like. Again thank you all my friends with your answers.
  6. I know this sounds dumb but when I look at annual multi trip policies it gives several choices of time frames. Does this mean that you choose the length of the longest cruise and then can do any other cruises that fit within that length of time over the year? Also do you have to advise the insurer of the dates of each cruise/holiday? I have only taken out single trip insurances in the past but with so many trips this summer because of cruise credits etc a multi trip policy may be the way to go. I know someone will enlighten me. Many thanks
  7. Looks great and the medicine cabinet will sure ease any problems. At least the bathroom door doesn't face directly into the bedroom like the corner suites. Not sure about the porthole!!! Boy what a balcony. You could probably fit my Sea Terrace whole room on it. Hope we get some decent weather so you can use it.
  8. What type of Rock Star Suite have you booked? Have seen several videos of various ones. Some at the back have problems with the noise late at night coming from the Terrace when they open their balcony doors. Probably ok if you are up high. Some have glass doors to the bathrooms!!!!!! Watched this video last night but it is not the only one I have seen. The suites at the front seem more luxurious. There are so many different types. We just have a balcony, sorry Sea Terrace, booked on deck 13.
  9. Their call centre is in Guatemala. I have been assured they are nice people to deal with though. Went with a TA because you cannot pick your cabins on the website and wanted to be sure where I was situated.
  10. That is the first one we have booked. Looking at is as a trial before doing B2Bs in February 2024. Son wants to know if he still has to go in February if he doesn't like it. I am sure he will love it - he is young enough. Me - I'm a dinousaur. Still the hammock looks very inviting. I have watched many Youtube reviews and the more I see the more it interests me. Food looks great and as long as you don't get a cabin near any entertainment areas it should be ok - although first voyage out of Aust - mmmmm. I am wondering where Port Prince is though!! TA who I booked with told me that the Virgin rep she dealt with thought the Tasman Sea was a lake in Tasmania. What could possibly go wrong.
