We have done 2 TA's on the Reflection and have been able to use Skype without any problem.

 How about a glob of what we can best describe as potato salad?      Just got off 15 days on the Eclipse and asked the same question of the Concierge Rep.    She said that she would have utensils delivered to our cabin with the canapes.   The next day we received a couple of forks with the weird plate of canapes.   But that was it....I guess they expected us to wash them ourselves and reuse them day after day.    Unfortunately, what they are serving is weird and not worth eating anyway.

Also, seem to recall a plate of fruit in our Concierge cabin.....not any more.   They used to put an upgraded Celebrity bag in each Concierge cabin....not any more, just the cheap blue bag.      The food in the MDR and in the buffet just wasn't quite as good as it had been on previous X cruises.     Seafood seemed to be particularly sparse in plates such as shrimp scampi or seafood piella.

Starting to rethink future cruise plans with the ongoing changes and cutbacks.

The ones on the slant have bigger balconies. Cabin 8277 would not because it's not on the slant, but your cabin 8279 has a bigger balcony. We had one of these larger balcony cabins on the Celebrity Reflection TA from Ft. Lauderdale to Rome this spring and, liked it so much, we picked a similar cabin on a cruise on the Reflection in November.

Just been chatting to our sommelier. She has seen them in medical by all accounts.

Maybe not that rare. We were on the Eclipse last March between Aruba and Barbados when the ship suddenly turned and rescued a boat load of "fishermen" that had been floating at see for several days. These "fishermen" were supposedly from St. Lucia but when we got to St. Lucia our tour guide had heard about the event and said that these weren't fishermen. He said that they were arrested upon arrival in Barbados by St. Lucian officials..

We booked Eclipse 14 Nights Exotic Southern Caribbean

I don't remember exactly, the room steward left a note on our bed about the special each time, but I think it was on about day 6 and day 12 of the 16 day cruise.

Anyone with experience on Celebrity - what is the laundry situation?

No self service laundry onboard. The price list has already been posted but I wanted to add that twice during our 15 day TA cruise on Reflection in April they offered a "bag" special. They will wash, dry, fold all the laundry you can stuff into one of their paper laundry bags (without busting the bag) for a flat rate of $50/bag full. I took to time to calculate that it would have cost us about $120, instead of $50 we paid, to do the bag of laundry that we turned in during their special.

I was surprised! Before I really knew about "Choice Air" I had booked us a one way flight back from Europe after a Celebrity TA cruise we are taking next spring. After checking all the usual websites, the best I could get was a fare of over $900pp. Subsequently, the airline I had booked with had a schedule change and cancelled the flight I had booked. That change entitled me to "select another flight" or a full refund of my non-refundable fare. Checking all the usual travel websites and airline websites again produced the same $900pp+ fares but Celebrity Choice Air offered fares for some of the same flights of about $350pp.
