  1. We will be staying on the ship. I’m former Vancouver resident. I’ve been to Victoria 1000 times. Our time there is right over the dinner period. I will be treating tomorrow like a sea day. If we had a whole day there we would do something. Just an evening stop isn’t enough to do anything I want to do.
  2. There is a specialty coffee bar and a separate bar for any other kind of drinks.
  3. No and the video just doesn’t do this singer justice. It does not come across as strong and powerful as it is. The guitar player is utterly phenomenal. His solo in “Separate Ways” was next level and mirror perfect from the original.
  4. Some random pics The current view from my balcony. view from deck 15 whale watching today. from this mornings walk last night in the elevator Best shot I got of the sisters in Juneau Sorry, this was the best I could get. Vineet the cabin attendant has been amazing. He has been tripping over himself to try do extra.
  5. I’ve been bragging about The DSB band so much I recorded an extended cut and uploaded it to Youtube I figured trying to upload directly would be impossible. https://youtu.be/DK0yMunikp0
  6. Excellent veterans appreciation get together. I would say it’s the best one that I have seen so far. Cruise Director Marc did an exceptional job.
  7. I’ve never cruised on celebrity so I don’t really know anything about their ships. Last year we did Alaska on serenade which is a very small ship, but I still love the trip. Having all the extra entertainment options we have here on ovation is great but Alaskan cruises are really about Alaska.
  8. I’m from California but originally from Canada. I’m loving it. When I get home the temp I’ll be slightly less than Hell.
  9. We are currently being pursued by the evil empire (celebrity solstice)
  10. i’ve been doing this all week long. The bartender in the casino on ovation knows my wife on a first name basis but they have never met. 🤪😇
  11. I had a great time on the five glacier seaplane tour. Pictures are yet to come. The weather was a little sketchy so some of the pictures will be good and some will be bad. I need to go through and edit out the bad ones and pick a couple of the good ones before I post them here. Dinner was in the solarium. This is my first time in the solarium for dinner. It was very good. It was a nice relaxed environment. it wasn’t overcrowded and the food was excellent. also, food porn to come.
  12. It’s hit and miss. There are times it is good and times it’s nonexistent. Usually it’s just below average.
  13. So we skipped going to the glacier since it’s so foggy so I decided to console myself at the Red Dog with my new friend Cristin.
  14. Also sorry for the autocorrect weirdness. Mom, not Kim, always said nothing good happens after midnight. 😂
  15. Sorry for the radio silence. I had crappy internet every time I tried to sit down and update the thread. Yesterday we did the Whitepass Rail to the summit and back. It was an entertaining afternoon. Because we have to tender the process was a little rocky at the start but once in the train everything went off without a hitch. in the last one you can see the cruise ships. Ovation is the one on the left. Dinner in the MDR was good again. The problems of the first two nights are worked out and service and food have been good I’m sorry for the limited food porn pics. I always forgot until I’ve dug in and messed up the presentation. Ribs for me excellent. Chicken was loved by DW. after dinner we went to 270 for Pixels Cabaret. I didn’t hate it as much as I hated “The Book” on Odyssey but it’s just not cup of tea. Weird plotless collections of song and dance just don’t resonate with me. managed to slip into the theatre and catch DSB doing a shorter headliner act. Note to Bob it not as loud in the theatre as the music hall. If volume is your concern check them out there instead. They’re very entertaining. Closed the night out in the casino. After two hours I had broke even so called it a night. It was midnight and Kim always told me nothing good happens after midnight. This morning after hearty breakfast in the windjammer I’ve been eating the shoreline go by as we head to the glacier.
  16. I’m not a curry fan but my wife is. I’ll try and get her to try them and let you l know what she says.
  17. Interestingly, we were able to dock but we still have to tender. Apparently they don’t want anyone walking along that section of the dock.
  18. Update from last night. I forgot to mention that we also went and saw the comedy juggler. I forgot because it was forgettable performance. He wasn’t all that funny, he was mostly just whiny about how people weren’t laughing at his jokes. No doubt he was a very good juggler but you have to bring more to the table than just your ability to throw things in the air and catch them again
