  1. Just some medical facilities (not all) require a mask and cruising, obviously. Otherwise no restrictions at all around here.
  2. Our 8 day on Odyssey last Feb was amazing. A & C are great ports and the extra day, 8 day instead of 7 day, makes it a perfect cruise.
  3. Sorry I haven't checked in on this thread in ages. I just wanted to check in make sure Dani was OK. I wasn't sure how close these attacks were to where you live. I hope all is well with you and you are safe.
  4. That is what I am doing this time. Three weeks and a day to embarkation. DW is doing a Kayak and Salmon feast. 🙂
  5. The Mendenhall Glacier / Whale watching tour would be fine if you can walk even a little. The walk to one view point is only about a 1/4 mile from the parking lot/visitor centre. They transport you by bus to the visitor centre and the walk to the view is worth it. From there you bus to the boat and they take you out to view the whales. No knee challenges there. I had knee problems as well and had no trouble. I really, really recommend this tour.
  6. That would make Victoria a decent stop then. I thought they were all just a technical stop to fulfill PVSA.
  7. You surveyed the majority on board LOL They can and do... but to say that formal night has been done away with is 100% inaccurate.
  8. I thought those were just short evening 4 hour stops... Ours on Ovation is. @cruisinqt If you have a full day in Victoria I retract my previous comment. I recommend Butchart Garden and High tea.
  9. Sitka do any that include the Fortress of the bears and Alaska Raptor center. Both are can't miss. Skagway We have the White Pass scenic Railway tour booked but haven't done it yet so so far we just hope it is good. I haven't been to Skagway in a decade. Juneau Mendenhall Glacier and Whale watching tour is excellent. I did it last year and it was the highlight of the cruise. Absolutely spectacular. Victoria I've been to Victoria so many times I wouldn't get off the ship. Victoria, while being an interesting place has such a short duration it is in port and is usually right over the dinner hour I'd recommend skipping it. Enjoy a half empty ship while a large group of your fellow travelers are buying t-shirts and gawking at the closed Legislative assembly.
  10. The previous reply is not accurate at all. Note this screen shot from Harmony of the Seas 2 weeks ago. There is vocal minority on Cruise critic that attempts to say that Royal has done away with Formal night. As you can see this is not true. Now, you can wear what you like and get away with it and you will see everything from casual to formal on formal night but do not believe the posters who say formal night is no more. There are cruises where the verbiage has changed to "Dress your best" but Harmony is not one of them.
  11. Had the same thing happen on Adventure in Dec 2019. Had absolutely no difference.
  12. Very strange experience, sorry that happened to you. I can't speak to the double points from a first hand experience but just repeated what I thought was common from reading this board. However, December 2021 on Liberty our third person was a no show. Taxes and fess were refunded to the CC before the cruise ended.
  13. You will also get taxes and fees back for the no show. Yes they should get double points.
  14. Age limits for bird watching... Are there people under 65 who want to bird watch LOL.
  15. Liberty (Indy's sister) was our second Royal cruise and the cruise that hooked us on cruising and Royal. They are great ships. They might not be as big or have all the bells of an Oasis ship they are still fantastic and you will love it.
  16. I guess since it is my Royal Caribbean branded Visa I'd get the advantage of the extra points as well. I should have thought of that before.
  17. Now that I'm a casino player...( still a noob, but learning ) the last three cruises got me hooked. I'm planning on brining a lot more cash.
  18. thank you for posting this... it is like getting a cash advance on CC without the usual fees associated with CC cash advances
  19. There's an ATM in the casino but it has a high fee. I think it was like 6 or 8 dollars per transaction. A better way to do it is to charge your onboard account at one of the slot machines and then immediately cash out the ticket.
  20. With my wife's 4, all she does is drink one Latte and one frappe a day. That'll leave me with six if they let me use hers. I hope I can come out ahead.
  21. Ovation in 24 days is our first cruise as diamond and the first cruise I will not be getting the DBP. I'm going to tally up the total and see how it fares...
