  1. It's my understanding that you still cannot take the train or fly domestically unless vaccinated. Is that still correct or have I missed some late breaking news?
  2. Unless you work in healthcare for the state of California. Then you are required to come to work even if you are covid positive.
  3. I couldn't imagine losing weight of a cruise... I eat and drink way to much! I used to try get the steps in to minimize the damage but with the knee starting fail over the last year. The last three cruises have been catastrophic for my weight.
  4. I'm always amazed that people have such low expectations for kids. The behavior that kids exhibit is directly correlated with the expectations their parents have for them. Don't expect much, you won't get much. Your lack of expectation breeds contempt. That contempt manifests itself in the behavior most find distasteful.
  5. You should check out Facebo0k too. It has a wealth of sound medical advice that could help you.
  6. This is my favorite post on this thread. @not-enough-cruising really needs google to help with basic healthcare information.
  7. The two things I miss the most about not living in Canada is easy availability of Poutines and Tim Hortons Canadian Maple Donut.
  8. Back before I was full-time US resident when I would fly within the US with my BC Canada enhanced drivers license I was told they didn't accept them about 50% of the time and that I needed a passport. I had it down to a science. TSA has two books that show acceptable forms of ID. I would take them to the exact page that showed them it was acceptable. I'm not sure that TSA gives all that much training to their agents. I think, in total, it's about 3 weeks.
  9. I loved the little fried Cannolis at Giovanni's. Had them three times over the week.
  10. Make sure you have their poutine. I didn't expect it but It was fantastic.
  11. Any idea why some of my cruises show "MY SAILING" on my reservations and some do not?
  12. Sadly, I didn't know they had a food menu or we would have added that to our lunch plans. Neither of us are wine drinkers so we spent no time in the wine bar and missed out. Next time for sure. We're on Ovation next, is Vintages menu similar?
  13. On Odyssey we split our time between Playmakers and the Pub. We had one lunch at Giovanni's.
  14. Fav: Bacon... Worst: French fries. I'm sure there are other things I don't like but I never try those.
  15. I agree with Jim... I've never understood the reluctance to get a passport. I've had a passport since I was a young boy. They last 10 years and are universally accepted as primary identification everywhere. I also had an enhanced license for convenience sake when I lived in BC post 9/11. Convenient when slipping across the border to shop in WA or visit friends/family.

  17. You are correct. I knew that but wasn't specific enough in my answer. I was more replying to the distinction between Enhanced vs. Real ID. You can use all kinds of documents to fly List of documents acceptable for TSA Driver's licenses or other state photo identity cards issued by Department of Motor Vehicles (or equivalent) Beginning May 3, 2023, if you plan to use your state-issued ID or license to fly within the U.S., make sure it is REAL ID compliant. If you are not sure if your ID complies with REAL ID, check with your state department of motor vehicles. U.S. passport U.S. passport card DHS trusted traveler cards (Global Entry, NEXUS, SENTRI, FAST) U.S. Department of Defense ID, including IDs issued to dependents Permanent resident card Border crossing card State-issued Enhanced Driver’s License An acceptable photo ID issued by a federally recognized, Tribal Nation/Indian Tribe HSPD-12 PIV card Foreign government-issued passport Canadian provincial driver's license or Indian and Northern Affairs Canada card Transportation worker identification credential U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services Employment Authorization Card (I-766) U.S. Merchant Mariner Credential Veteran Health Identification Card (VHIC)
  18. There wasn't any. The medical evacuation at Victoria on Quantum was a cardiac event. This has been well documented here on CC. The poster heard from a bartender who rooms down the hall from a guy who knows some of the medical staff LOL.
  19. Enhanced license is not the same as Real ID. Real ID will be required to fly. It has no border crossing function.
  20. That has been well documented on other threads. It was a cardiac event.
  21. My SIL is an RN who works for California corrections. He is expected to go to work if he tests positive as long as he doesn't have a fever and his symptoms are severe enough to impede his work performance. Apparently the government of the state of California doesn't want their employees to be "considerate" like other posters would want.
