  1. It is my understanding that Vancouver has waived the need to update your ArriveCAN on return. Which would mean that the single ArriveCAN would suffice. So you would just need to get the CoVid test prior to returning to the US.
  2. Canada requires that you complete the ArriveCAN 72 hours prior to boarding a cruise ship which ports in Canada or sails in its waters. As far as exact timing- the website is set up so that you CANNOT complete the form outside of the correct timing. So- if you can complete the form and get your approval you are inside the time required. It is my understanding that ships which have not confirmed that passengers have the approval PRIOR TO BOARDING have been fined. And the boarding process severely disrupted when passengers arrive without the approval as they are required to complete the form and get the approval before being allowed to board. It does get more complicated if you are going to Canada to board the ship. We arrive in Canada on Thursday, and sail on Friday. We will complete ArriveCAN late on Wednesday which will cover us for both the flight and the ship. I spoke with the ArriveCAN help desk and was assured that the single form would cover both, as long as the timing is good.
  3. The government of Canada has determined that cruise ships present a high risk of infection and is using its power to protect people. But don't all cruise lines still require testing before boarding anyway? It is the timing which differs and needs to be followed.
  4. ArriveCAN is required to enter Canada. A CoVid test is not required unless you are going to cruise.
  5. Canada DOES require a negative test to cruise. You don't need one to fly into or drive into Canada, but you must show a negative test before boarding the cruise ship. It does not get entered on ArriveCAN but you will need to have the proof with you. You have to look at the specific regulations for cruises- not for arriving by sea. And if your hotel can't help you, find a Kinkos- they can usually provide whatever services you might need for printing out the ArriveCAN.
  6. I use 844-418-6824 most successfully. When I really need to talk to someone I use that on landline and 800-647-2251 or 800-556-8209 on cell phone and go about life with them on speakerphone. Not that I get through that quickly but sometimes it works well.
  7. I am so sorry- it is indeed a bad time for you both. Here is hoping for a no-fuss deposit refund.
  8. The border in Frasier has agreed not to require updated ArriveCANs of visitors. So you won't need to update. Although apparently some (many?) cruise ships are having passengers update their forms. As noted on another thread - it is a very quick thing to do and probably takes less time to complete it than to argue with the ship personnel.
  9. The Victoria stop is really to meet federal regulations.
  10. The waters are protected so really not terribly rough or cold. Both have cabins or areas walled off from winds. Do look again- well worth considering.
  11. I have completed the first part of the app. Can anyone who has completed the full thing (the part you have to do within 72 hours) give me some idea of what it entails? Long and tedious or short and sweet? I suspect the latter. Also, I did have some trouble booking a CovidTest as seems to be required in case I am selected for a random test. I didn't try too hard since we don't sail til late July but any hints?
  12. Wondering if this is a must do? We are taking a small boat excursion from Juneau to see Tracy Arm and unsure if the Hubbard up close and personal is really necessary. I’m sure it’s good, but quite pricey. Will we regret not signing up?
