  1. I asked this question on the San Juan forum but no responses. We will be sailing in July. Hubby and I are trying to decide if we can just walk to the old town of San Juan or going to need a taxi from Pam American dock near the airport? We will be in San Juan from 4pm - 11pm.
  2. The only cruise I never saw any issues in the main dining room was on Holland. Although on that cruise most every one was over the age of 50. It's been a while since I cruised on Celebrity but during the lunch I do remember it was more relaxed on what people wore there. The Lido is were people are wearing bathing suits. Unless you are cruising Holland which we have my guess on Caribbean cruises you will see that. Also beaches aren't the best for people wearing clothing that really fits them. I have seen women wear bathing suits that are 3-4 sizes to small and 300 pound women wearing two peace bathing suit with very little material. Not a pretty sight. I find depending on the length of the cruise you tend to get people to dress better on longer cruises. I have been on Carnival, Royal Caribbean, Holland and Celebrity and I have seen all types of people not dressing right for the occasion or body type. The longer and higher end cruises tend to be better, but not always depending on were you are cruising. Caribbean cruises tend to be more relaxed on what people wear.
  3. I think a lot of cruise lines are getting more strict with what people wear in the dinning room. I was on Carnival and we did lunch or breakfast in the main dining room and they turn a lady away that had a tank top on. I have worn hats into stores and a few times when we traveled out West I would walk in with one on into a restaurant but take it off when I got inside.
  4. We will be on Celebrity Equinox. My husband and I are thinking of doing Old San Juan on our own. Which dock does Equinox go to? Muelle 4, 8, 9 or Pan American Pier 1?
  5. We stayed in Tortola back in 2015 for a week. This time the we will only be there for the day from 7am to 3pm. Do they even have 10 passenger vans for people to rent?
  6. We were going to link them, but didn't know that two family groups had done Anytime which is causing this "little" issue. I'm sure this will get worked out. But looking to see what we can live with.... LOL
  7. We have been on family cruises of 20+ people. This does work out fine, normally you are still next to each other. Not a problem. Just don't want to be in a different dining room or in totally different areas of the dining room. We are all on the same deck with rooms, but not in the same locations. Some are in the front, middle and back of the ship.
  8. The original plan was when everyone booked to do 6pm, but some how a couple of people booked with anytime. So trying to figure out how to handle this. If those that did anytime up in a waitlist for 6pm. But don't know if this will be done during a summer July cruise.
  9. What is the wait time for 10 people when doing Anytime dining? Our group normally likes to eat early. We like to be done by 7:30. Also we have two kids 13 and 15 who eat by 7 anyways.
  10. I hope the $565 is not for one 5-16 oz drink..... Either way I'll look at the app.
  11. It's been a while since we have cruised. What is the going rate of alcohol drinks now?
  12. Well we did a long time ago, but we did do it. It was the last time to, to much work. We also have brought many times one six pack of NA beer for my hubby a few time in glass. But we carried it on with no problems. We try to stay away from aluminum as much as possible. Things may have change in a few years. Well if canned water is all Celebrity has, I guess we will bring filter water bottles and bring them.
  13. Not true, you can bring water on board Carnival as of a few years ago, unless that has change. When I found we could order before we board, then why lug on the water and take up space. Just easier that way. It's just not water you can order ahead of time, decorations, dessert, wine, beer, gifts for people. They have a whole list of things you can arrange to have in the room. Although it's been since Jan 2020 since we have been on them. This is a family cruise and Celebrity is what people voted to go on. So trying Celebrity again.
  14. We cruised Holland once and they did the same thing.
  15. It was offer on Carnival the last time we cruise. I don't need it deliver, but would like to get bottle water when we need it. It is nice to have it sitting in our room though. One thing I like about Carnival, you can deliver party items or, wine, water, beers or desserts if you want on the day you leave port.
  16. Thanks for the answers. We will figure it out. We just look at the drink packages again, although it may be cheaper just to buy it when we need it. I'll make sure we always have water bottles with the assistants of the room steward.
  17. I only have cruised Celebrity once before a long time ago. Since then I have been on other cruise lines. Carnival is our main line. We have gotten use to ordering a case of water ahead on time to have in our room. I don't see on Celebrity were this can be done. You can even order decorations to be in people rooms on other lines. Can this still be done? I see all the drink packages, but these do not fit us. We just need a case of water and will only have 1-2 alcohol drinks a night "maybe three". Do we just call Celebrity to get this arranged? Although we haven't cruised since Jan 2020.
  18. I don't know what you mean by that. We will have different cabins and live in different houses. We are in the same family. Grandparents, parents, spouses and kids. We all will be connecting our rooms for dining. This is a family cruise.
  19. Yea, I'll do that. I have done it on other lines. I have not done it for a big group after Covid. We plan to link are booking for dining so that should help.
