  1. Hi - I expect the answer to this is going to be a straight-forward "No", but I thought i'd check. I'm taking my mum on a cruise holiday this year and I was looking at insurance for the both of us. I'm happy with pretty basic stuff - just something that would pay out in worst case scenarios. I tried to get a quote yesterday but they ask for pretty extensive medical history - including every prescription medicine used and every doctors/medical visit for any reason. I don't really want to invade my mum's privacy by asking for all of this, i'm not aware that she has any problems, but there might be small stuff she doesn't really want to share. And i'm 100% certain that the insurance company would weasel out of a claim if everything isn't listed. I'm assuming that this means I will have to ask her to take out her own cover - but is there any way around it?
  2. Hi - i'm doing the same cruise (setting sail the 15th). Saying in a hotel in Venice. I haven't looked into it in too much detail but there is a description of where to go on my booking screen.
  3. Thanks. We have the top tier drinks package, but i'm assuming it wouldn't be valid for that morning (i'm thinking coffees)?
  4. Hi, Another disembarkment question. I'm on a MSC cruise that is scheduled to arrive into Venice-Marghera at 9am. My flight from Marco Polo is at 16:15. Are we allowed to just stay on the ship as long as we want that morning? Could we have lunch even?
  5. Hi, I'm taking my mum on a 4 night trip on the Armonia next year. I was considering buying one of the spa packages for her as a Christmas present, but I know absolutely zero about spa stuff. Also, the trip seems pretty full with port visits (no days at sea) I was wondering when she would fit it in. I could do with thoughts about whether this is a good idea or not. Examples of prices i'm being offered now: THERMAL AREA CRUISE PASS: £53 (~$65) BALINESE MASSAGE - 50 MIN: £82 (~$100) SPA MANICURE AND PEDICURE TREATMENT: £68 (~$80) Thanks
  6. Discrimination would be if MSC had statistics on how much people spend onboard by age/nationality/race/disability etc and applied restrictions on that basis. What they are in fact doing is calculating that people travelling by themselves in a cabin that could accommodate two people will, on average, lose the company money over selling to two people. So, they take the business decision to only sell to two people until it's clear to them that they won't sell out doing so. That's a perfectly reasonable approach and is in no way discrimination.
  7. Hi - I was looking at booking a 4 night cruise from Venice next April for myself and brother. But now another family member wants to come along. It looks like the pricing is base purely on cabin and there's no single occupancy discount for one person. Does anyone know if there's any way of getting this, seems a bit odd as surely some of the cost must be attributed to the food that two people will consume. Thanks
