Hi
The showers in Britannia showers are very small with a fixed shower head that I found to be too low.. My impression of grill cabins on QV is that showers are larger but still have the fixed shower head. Hope this helps.
Deck Chair
Is the height adequate even though the head is fixed?

We were on the QV for the first time this April for the Panama Canal segment. We were in a Britannia balcony stateroom. My father is tall and found the shower too small. He does fit in the QM2 Britannia showers.
We would like to know if the QV showers in the grills staterooms are larger and more spacious. If anyone has pictures that would be helpful too.

I was looking at the 3,834 pictures of Queen Mary 2 and:
1) Do the bedside lamps in interior/oceanview staterooms have UK or US plugs?
2) Is there a product out there that would allow me to split one of the plugs into 2-3 plugs and thus be able to plug the lamp and a CPAP machine into a single socket? I use the below when traveling in the US at hotels, but this would not be an option on QM2:

Regarding number 1, the answer is no. This is a poor design decision and a pet peeve of mine since most people use their cell phone as a clock

Thanks! What's popularity like?
I was just on the QM2 Cruise over the Fourth of July. It was pretty popular then. We got there around 10 am and no one was around. However we did have people waiting to take the court after about 20 minutes.
It seemed pretty popular in the afternoons and evenings with the teen crowd.

Beer
in Cunard Line
Again, I simply cannot believe that people are banned from drinking what they like. If this kind of pretentious bs makes people feel 'set apart' or 'proper' then they've clearly never mixed in genuinely decent society circles (by their blinkered standards). Where hosts are more accommodating. And people are real. I'm a very 'ordinary' person but due to my wife's connections I've mixed in with some very exclusive circles (again, by the standards lauded by those who gush at such things). And guess what? People of 'high standing' drink beer. With their dinner (oh the horror). While I'm convinced that this is a joke, I'll be avoiding the more stuck up areas of my crossing. I was put off booking this trip for these reasons. People assured me it wasn't really full of such wide of the mark snobbery. Maybe it really is.
My father sometimes orders a beer at dinner. Sure, there may be some passengers who would look down their noses, but I think that would be a minority.
QV Shower Size Question
in Cunard Line
Posted
That is the reason for me starting this thread. My father certainly had issues with the size of the Britannia stateroom shower. He is tall and thin. However he stated that he had to step out of the shower to soap up comfortably and then when rinsing off, the shower head was too low.
He wanted to know if the Grills showers were larger so he might consider sailing on the QV in the future.
It's not tolerable to smash into a shower for a long cruise.
Thanks for all the information about different shower configurations in the Grills. He may consider QV in the future again.
For now he knows he fits in the QM2 one.
